Oh my gosh this home was amazing there were 5 of us and plenty of room and the views from just about everywhere in the house were beautiful will be back

House was beautiful with great views of the bay. Loved walking to the pier and watching the crabbers. The house had everything we needed to go crabbing and clamming, but we ran out of time. House had everything we needed.

We enjoyed our stay! The weather was beautiful! We all had our own bath rooms, games to play. We didn’t rent the down stairs rental, but definitely would with one more couple. There was 7 adults 2 children.

Best location in Newport, walk to south jetty areas and rogue. Beautiful house, great for family, enjoyed it greatly!

Happy Clam location, condition and care of the little details that make a home away from home your place are superb. There was nothing that we needed that was not provided. The happy clam is an awesome home to stay in. They have everything you need and the master suite is amazing! Beautiful views of the ocean. My only disappointment was that we weren't right on the beach. My son enjoyed fishing off the jetty and the pier though. We had a very enjoyable time.

My family and I spent a fantastic week at the Happy Clam. Gary and Sherie are outstanding hosts. This is truly a home away from home. From linens to flat wear to comfortable furniture, it is outstanding. The home is spacious, yet cozy, allowing private rooms and baths for each family. Games galore, binoculars and a crab pot for the more motivated. We watched the seals play in the bay, locals and tourists fishing, clamming, crabbing and surfing. The walk to the beach is quite easy and a huge expanse of sandy beach that stretched for miles upon arrival. The Rogue Brewery is a quick walk with good food and great IPA's. We enjoyed the ESCAPE ROOMS, an unexpected treat. The weather was fantastic all week, not something that can be controlled but an added bonus. Wonderful place to stay very comfortable

We've stayed at many VRBOs and the Happy Clam is very near the top of the list. The location is great and very walkable to Rogue Brewery, Hatfield, and the Aquarium. The views are wonderful no matter the weather and the house is well appointed. Very large master suite with nearby bunkbeds on the top floor, two very nice bedrooms with attached bathrooms on the second floor, and garage/entertainment room on the ground floor. Owners are thoughtful in what is included, with crabbing and BBQ gear available, lots of games, and very adequately supplied bathrooms. I personally loved the kitchen; as an avid cook, I notice when cookware is well cared for, non-stick pans are fully functional, knives are sharp, basic spices and oils are available, and a wide range of cooking utensils are present. We will definitely return.

We stayed at the Happy Clam during Spring Break of March of 2017. There were 7 of us including my elderly mom. First off, the location is great. Nice view, quiet area and quick access to the beach, the aquarium and Bay blvd. There is a nice pier practically right outside the door where you can walk out and watch people crabbing. The setup of the house was perfect for us. There are two bedrooms on the main floor which was nice for my mom since she doesn't navigate stairs very well. Up above were the master and loft area. Below the main floor is the garage/game room with the washer and dryer. The Happy Clam is nicely appointed and well furnished. The furniture and appliances are very well kept up and up to date. The beds were very comfortable with nice linens. We were very impressed with the giant blue tooth sound system, the large flat screen tv's, gas fireplace, ping pong table and pool table. The kitchen was well equipped for anything you might need. In general, the house was very clean. I reached out to the owners on a couple of occasions with questions. Gary was very quick to respond and seemed very motivated to make our stay the best it could possibly be. The instructions for your arrival and departure were very simple and reasonable. We would definitely stay there again and hope circumstances allow us to stay there next spring break!

It has become something of a tradition for us to visit the Happy Clam annually. Whether you're out crabbing, combing the beach, walking about town, or just lounging around, it's one of the best locations Newport offers. The owners are very supportive and responsive. You'll get everything the description offers, and undoubtedly more.

We had several generations gathered, 4 families and the accommodations were perfect. The kids 3-12 yr olds had an open play area. they older kids enjoyed ping pong and foosball on a rainy day. The kitchen appliances and utensils were in great condition making meal prep a pleasure. The open floor plan allowed conversations to flow easily. The huge closets were a plus keeping all the luggage and personal items out of view and the size of bedrooms were perfect, the beds were very comfortable. But the views, really, to just sit with my grandsons on the deck or in the living room and watch the boats and ships come and go from port to ocean was worth it all. The sea lions were great enetertainment playing just off the shoreline from the house. This was a great experience and my family would like to do this again. Working with Gary and Sherie was such a big help. They were available always and were kind and considerate, sharing ideas for fun. This was a memory maker.

Very clean and comfortable

We have rented the Happy Clam on many occasions, but this is our first review. The house is perfect for a group or large family to socialize and relax in an exciting atmosphere with a working marina, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) station, OSU marine science center, aquarium, Rogue brewery and distillery. The house is fully equipped, always clean, and in a peaceful setting. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated and has all of the comforts of home. The kitchen and great room have expansive views of the Yaquina Bay channel, lighthouse, and historic bridge. Newport is the most welcoming and diverse coastal town in Oregon with many great restaurants and attractions. The historic bay front is a short drive or walk over the Yaquina Bay Bridge.

We are a quickly growing heating and A/C business and wanted to hold an End of Year Event to thank our employees. The Happy Clam gave us all the room we needed. With the amazing views, spacious kitchen, lots of sleeping room and plenty of parking it sure fit our needs. Everyone was able to come and go as they pleased. Plenty of comfortable seating in the living room area for everyone to sit and visit. The many walks down to the beach were a much needed relaxation. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a large group that wants to get away and still enjoy all the comforts of home.

My group of 12 had a great time at this beautiful home. It had everything we needed and was perfect for both privacy and getting everyone together. It worked great for the Seafood and Wine Festival because it was a quick 5 minute walk to the festival so people could come and go as they pleased. We also had no problems walking to the beach and across to tourist areas. My deposit was returned in a timely manner and we will definitely stay here again. The view was also fantastic!
