Everything was perfect...the food was amazing and the big cabin was more than we expected.

Maybe adding more activities around the place will be a good idea

Some rooms doesn't have any chimney and it is part of the attraction to going that far in the mountain. Bathroom can be improved or actualized, but are OK

The house

Amazing fancy restaurant quality food in the rainforest. Water is good and won’t get you sick. Rooms are clean and pest free, and very comfortable for a rustic area far from the city in Costa Rica in the middle of the rainforest. There is no AC, but the fans are powerful and I slept well. Amazing bird and animal life all around, and kind and attentive staff.

Honestly, just better internet in the rooms. But on the other hand, it was nice to get away.

beautiful property, nice view from our cabin. trail is a definite must do. the food in the restaurant was sublime! definitely eat dinner there.

shower was a little strange, in that water sprayed away from you and wasn’t hot.

Beautiful chales made of wood and placed in pure nature. The food on the restaurant is super good and worth it’s money. The 3 km track going directly from the chalets is wonderful and passing in the primary forest full of life. We loved the place!

the roads to get to the place are not easy, but the place worth it

Great location, very quiet and a nice 3k walk around the property taking in the coffee and other plants they grow.

Shop was very expensive

The food is amazing. People who have said it's overpriced, it's not. Not even all 5 star hotels offer such excellent kitchen. Plus, you can take a walk and see where and how the food you eat grows. Tracking tour on the property is great.

Room is a bit cold. Camine is available however it would be nice if the stuff would have prepared or offered to make a fire

Breakfast and dinner were great!! Service was a bit slow but very friendly!!

A lovely setting surrounded by a tropical forest and orchard of coffee and avocado trees. The room is rather simple, but comfortable.

Cute little cabin in a tranquil location. They have their own 3km trail up through the forest and back down through the coffee and avocado plantations. The restaurant was unexpectedly excellent for such a quiet valley.

The whole lodge and cabins are on a north facing slope so they do not get much direct sunshine and it can be cool in the shadows. However, we didn’t go there to sunbathe and it was a good climate for being active.

We stayed the last 2 days of our 3 weeks Costa Rica trip here to relax and recap. This is a great place to relax and go hiking on the property‘s 3k trail. The staff is super kind and made us feel very comfortable and created a welcoming atmosphere from the start. The food is excellent in the newly opened Al Mercat restaurant which is right on site.

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed at. The cabin was very nice, food was exceptional and the staff helpful and nice. We had two very young kids (1 and 4) and we could take them with us on the 3km hike around the forest and plantations - we enjoyed that a lot! We really like the sustainable emphasis the lodge has and eating local product.

The cabin was quite cold at night and early morning, but with such young babies but the staff gave us an electric heater that helped a lot. The Wi-Fi in the cabin was also bad, but you could expect that in a place like this.

The room was cold as the lodge is situated at altitude. We had the possibility to use the fireplace but that only heated the room after a while

Stunning location! High up in the mountains. Wonderful restaurant with food made to a high standard.

It was quite cold and although a fireplace and wood is provided we couldn't actually make a fire as we needed some kindling. They could only supply some cardboard. The breakfast was good but we stayed 3 nights and some more variation would have been nice.

Place is beautiful and relaxing

The food was delicious, specially mean courses.

The cabin was extremely cold, heating systems are always expected, it was really uncomfortable. The apple juice was served in a plain big glass almost a vase which did not look good, the coffee taste had some acidity and was not as I expected.

as mentioned in lots of other reviews, food was incredible. one of the reasons we booked, and were not dissappointed. we stayed in the largest room the first couple nights as it had a fireplace which really made it. had to switch rooms as was booked out at the weekend, but also nice. rooms are basic but have everything you need. incredible views over The Valley and saw so many amazing birds out of the windows. beautiful walk up through the woods behind the house. everyone at cedrela was so lovely, they really made the stay. Diego drove us into town one day and gave us a little tour, arranged bird guides and a taxi to the airport for us. they were all super nice and very helpful. thank you!

showers are quite weak when hot, but didn’t really mind. not something we didn’t like but just a warning - it’s high in the mountains, and gets cold at night! cedrela supply plenty of blankets..

Food was excellent, the private 3 km walking track through the rainforest is really beautiful. We even saw a female and a male quetzal.

We booked one family bungalow, but it turned out to be two separate rooms, so you needed to go outside to go from the first to the second room. Not very convenient with kids.
