My family and friends had an amazing week at the Valais. In addition to the privileged location (close to the centre and lift), Chalet Cathay is perfect for enjoying family holidays. The facilities, the well-equipped kitchen, the rooms with a lot of comfort and the hospitality and availability of the owners are perfect. We plan to be back there soon in summer and winter.

We are two families from South Germany (4 adults, 6 children) and experienced with skiing and snow-boarding. We already spent lots of weeks in different chalets in the Alps, but „Chalet Cathay“ was an outstanding experience. From the check-in, the perfect cleanliness of all rooms, the full-equipped kitchen and the nearness to the slopes everything was outstanding and made it unforgettable. And we enjoyed the beautiful view in the „Rhone-Valley“ from the living-room and especially on New Year where we watched the fireworks (and did our own). Not to forget the great Ski-Area. We took all „Skirouten“ several times and can recommend the Vallon d´Arbi slope which leads you from Attelas (or Chassoure) almost to the Chalet

Wong is a host very attentive to the well-being of his guests and very care-taking. The Chalet is very well equipped and very well located. We spent a great week at Cathay ! Thanks for everything & hope to come back soon !

If you are going to Tzoumaz this is the chalet to rent! The chalet is a great experience - spacious, clean and with all necessary equipments. The booking process is smooth and the owner is a pleasure to have a dialogue with. Absolute to recommend!

Wir haben mit 3 Familien eine Woche im Chalet verbracht. Die Küche ist nicht nur technisch hervorragend ausgestattet ,wie die gesamte Einrichtung ist auch das Geschirr sehr geschmackvoll, was uns sehr entgegenkam, weil wir jeden Tag gekocht haben. Die Schlafzimmer sind funktionell und gemütlich, die Matrazen sehr gut. Bei organisatorischen Fragen hatten wir immer kurzfristig einen kompetenten Ansprechpartner,wir haben wirklich eine rundum gute Zeit hier verbracht!

We decided to spend the turn of the year in La Tzoumaz with the whole family. I only can say, it was a good decision to stay in the Chalet Cathay, beautiful furnished with great taste and equipped with everything you need. The wonderful kitchen invited us for cooking delicious meals. The owners had thought of everthing, espacially for the youngest ones, travel bed, high chair etc. My husband and I slept in the mezzazine upstairs and every morning it was a pleasure waking up with a spectacular view on the snow covered moutains. The Chalet affords enough space, preserving the privacy of everone. Although most of us didn`t go skiing, the area provides for long walks. Last but not least, we had a memorable time with a lot of sun, in the best accomodation we ever spent a holiday. Thank you Mr. Wong for the nice communication!!!

We have spent our summer holiday at La Tzoumaz. The weather was perfect (25° in the village / 30° in the valley). Ideal conditions for biking, hiking, sightseeing and relaxing. The region offers more than enough possibilities for various activities (even with babies). For the relaxing part, the luxurious chalet offers all the comfort we needed: a large sunny terrace, the spacious livingroom and the very well equiped kitchen. The garage is a plus as a storage for food, drinks, roofbox, bike-carrier and mountainbikes. We really appreciated the number of bathrooms so everyone had his own.

Le chalet est splendide, aménagé avec beaucoup de goût et très cosy. La vue sur la montagne est superbe. Il y a suffisamment de couchage et malgré la capacité de 12 personnes, nous n'avions jamais l'impression d'être les uns sur les autres. Le chalet est très spacieux et très bien pensé pour passer une agréable semaine, tout en préservant l'intimité des familles. Il est très bien équipé, avec d'excellentes literie, des salles de bain spacieuse et bien équipées, une cuisine très bien équipée et accessoirisée, une grande et belle terrasse, un jardin en pente. L'expérience correspond parfaitement à la promesse et au descriptif sur le web. Même s'il n'est pas au pied des pistes, il reste très bien placé, à 500m à pied et avec une navette qui s'arrête devant et qui vous emmène en 5 minutes à la remontée. Le service d'accueil et de départ est de qualité et à l'heure. Par ailleurs le domaine skiable est top avec beaucoup de hors piste et un bon débit dans les remontées mécaniques. La station de la Tzoumaz est tranquille. Chalet à recommander sans hésiter.

The chalet is very beautiful, it is extremely well equipped, up to modern fondu set. The living room is very big with a nice open fireplace. Also the room to place skis with booth warming equipment is very user friendly. All rooms are very clean and appear new. The location of the chalet is 2 min walk from a ski buss and 15 min walk to village with restaurants and supermarket. With the ski bus it is only 5 min drive to ski lift. All in all it was a perfect stay in our top three of chalets we stayed in during the last 20 years. Group of 8, Glen

Excellent access with private, off-road parking kept snow clear by the local authority; the chalet is very clean, warm, comfortable, and the extensive facilities are well maintained. The owner is very helpful and 'hands on', as well as having a competent local management team. The bus service to the slopes is very effective, and skiing into Verbier is simple and quick; the return route does through require using a bus to get to the Savoleyres lift from all areas. La Tzoumaz has a good selection of ski shops and a very good supermarket, though the number and quality of restaurants is limited.

We were in Chalet Cathay two weeks ago just before Easter, and still the children talk about their holiday there every day. When they went back to school this morning our son said he wished he was going to ski school in Switzerland instead! That says it all really; a fantastic and memorable time was had by all! It was great to be within easy gondola ride of the ski mecca Verbier, but we also really appreciated returning at the end of the day to the quiet and peace of La Tzoumaz. Having said that, this small family resort has everything you need, in terms of télécabine, supermarket, cafés, restaurants and tourist office. After exhilarating days out in the open air, we spent enjoyable evenings in the welcoming atmosphere of Chalet Cathay, unwinding over dinner and a glass of wine. Oh, and what spectacular views when you wake in the morning from this home nestled into the side of the mountain. We shall try to hold on to these, and what are some very happy memories, for as long as possible as we slip back into our usual daily work-school routine! Thank you so much to the owners Ying and Wong for welcoming us into their special family home, full of style, character and warmth! PS. Lo chalet è splendido ed immerso nel verde. Spazioso e pulito è situato a pochi passi dall'ovovia che in pochi minuti porta agli impianti. Ho trascorso una settimana veramente rilassante con la mia famiglia. La cucina e la zona pranzo sono veramente spaziose e ben attrezzate. Le numerose camere sono essenziali, ma ben arredate e anche i bagni sono nuovi ed ottimamente distribuiti nella casa. Il mezzanino è il luogo ideale per far giocare i bambini e per far godere al resto della famiglia pace e tranquillità. La piccola cittadina in cui si trova lo chalet è tranquilla e non affollata. C'e' tutto ciò che serve dal panettiere. al supermercato al negozio per il noleggio e l'acquisto di tutta l'attrezzatura da sci. La Tzoumaz ha belle piste e il comprensorio e' collegato a Verbier e risulta essere molto vario. Fantastica la pista di bob per adulti e bambini. Io consiglio vivamente questi luoghi a chi ama la tranquillità, la natura e la possibilità di sciare e soggiornare in un fantastico posto. Elena

Our holidays at the Chalet Cathay were really amazing! We had a wonderful stay! The owners are very professional and the exchanges of information prior to the holiday were very much complete and kind. You know that you are in good hands and you feel welcome already. The Chalet itself is very well designed, with a lot of light, very nice decoration. We had a lot of sun and could enjoy the terrace in the mornings and afternoons! Ski slopes are 7 min walk away or else there is a convenient shuttle bus. We have only positive things to say about these holidays and strongly will strongly recommend this property to our friends for future holidays. We also plan to be back ourselves! :-) Many thanks! Chalet Cathay is one of the best places we have stayed in. The chalet is beautiful, cosy, and tastefully decorated, making you feel at home immediately. It is spacious enough allowing two families with four kids never feeling in close proximity. The cloakroom at the entrance offers a very useful area to get dressed with the huge equipment needed in the winter season. The kitchen is incredibly well furnished. The mezzanine is welcomed, offering a nice playing area for the kids. The chalet is also very good located, very close from the ski facilities. La Tzoumaz that we have also discovered, is very nice and uncrowded, and offers a wonderful ski area, including Verbier. The kids started snowboarding and were able to go on the red slopes at the end of the week! Next year’s holiday at Chalet Cathay is booked already! Thank you Wong and Ying for everything!

We arrived at Chalet Cathay early evening on our first night and were immediately gobsmacked at the quality and spaciousness of the accommodation. Once we'd all settled in and unpacked we made use of the fantastic kitchen area and made dinner. There is every conceivable kitchen item you could wish for and full instructions on how to use all the appliances. The table can seat 12 easily and the entire living/kitchen area is open plan so everyone is together during and after dinner. There is a games area with TV up on the mezz where the kids would spend some time together and a big Flat screen TV in the living area with uk channels. The garage area was a great place to keep all the beer and wine and there is also a large fridge out there too. We woke up the next morning to stunning views from the balconies across the mountains and down the valley. The weather was fantastic all week (Feb half term) with blue sky and sun every day. A bus stop is right outside the chalet with free shuttle to resort centre and the lift station which is 2 minutes away although we drove down in our minibus with all the ski gear and managed to park nearby for free. The lift station was never that busy in the afternoon and whisks you up to the top of the savoleyres in about 10 minutes. The skiing around the area is superb especially across the Verbier side but maybe not ideal for beginners as number of easy runs is a bit limited. Not saying it's bad but there are better beginner resorts. There are plenty of lovely restaurants up in the mountains to stop for a coffee or a beer. We hired our skis in verbier (booked before arrival) which took about 40 minutes by car but there are ski hire shops in la tsoumaz which would be a better option. All in all we had a fantastic week in a stunning chalet and I would highly recommend Chalet Cathay.

We had a great time in La Tzoumaz! Great snow, great weather, great Chalet Cathay! We were very happy with all the detailed organisation & information, especially the baby chairs and beds for the two little ones. We spent all of our time on the great slopes, and the children had a lot of fun! All in all, a memorable holiday.

We had a great stay here with two other families just after New Year. The chalet itself is beautiful and spacious with lots of space for kids to run around in, and the views are amazing. We especially appreciated the little amenities like huge dining table, well furnished kitchen, heating flooring, well kitted out boot room, heated boot racks and ski racks, and choice of UK power extensions. The beds were also memorably cozy and comfy and the bathrooms especially beautiful and warm. Our son's favourite was the "den" area upstairs complete with rocking lounger, game console. TV and comfy sofa. Everything was extremely good standard and very well maintained by any standard. The location is also great - we enjoyed being so close to the centre of town and the ski gondola/lift, so that we were able to easily walk there or, with lots of gear, go just one stop on the free ski bus from the stop just at the top of the driveway. the town itself is small but charming with everything you could want - children's playground, ski school, creche, ski rental and shopping, restaurants, supermarket, etc. We also loved the little crepe shop and restaurant at the top of the mountain/gondola ride - great for a lovely snack and warm drink while looking out over an amazing vista of mountain - great views of Verbier and the beautiful mountains around. We are all beginner skiers and were really pleased with both the kids and adult lessons we got - used two different ski schools (the one recommended by the owner's website and the one at the mountain pass entrance) and we had excellent experiences in both cases - really friendly, patient, fun individuals who gave us great lessons at very short notice and to meet our scheduiing needs. Which is another great thing about the area - very friendly in general, and wonderfully uncrowded. Was great to be able to practice skiing on such beautiful runs with so few other people! The "nursery slope" is also great for kids/practicing - complete with "magic carpet" to get up the hill and a view which is quite amazing itself. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a practical family oriented ski holiday in a beautiful location and a lovely accommodation without the crowds.

Dear Wong & family, This has been one of our best family holidays ever and I would just like to thank you and your family for allowing my family to share your home. Chalet Cathay was perfect in every way. Attention to detail throughout the chalet was unbelievable. I cannot imagine many chalets in Switzerland with this level of equipment and standard of decor. The setting, built against the hillside in La Tzoumaz, with views that are breathtaking. We had a fun packed week and one we shall all remember for many years to come. I hope we shall have the opportunity to book Chalet Cathay sometime again. Since returning from our holiday, I note the October 2014 VOGUE magazine lists Chalet Cathay number one in its article titled ‘Cool Runnings’. It’s certainly number one in our opinion. It is rare to find chalet accommodation that lives up to expectations, but Chalet Cathay not only lived up to expectations, but far exceeded them. We had very variable weather during our stay ranging from blistering sunshine to snow and the chalet worked on all occasions, whether it was sitting on the balcony admiring the view of the Rhone valley or relaxing in front of a roaring log fire! La Tzoumaz itself is a quite base, ideal for exploring the local towns, the high passes into France and Italy and just enjoying the mountain scenery or even just spending an afternoon in the local pool. In all we had a great holiday and would recommend it to all, be that families with small children or groups of adults, Chalet Cathay caters for all.

We had a truly fantastic couple of weeks at Chalet Cathay. The chalet itself is in a beautiful, peaceful setting and has everything you could wish for and more. The Alps really is a fantastic place to visit in the Summer and Chalet Cathay is perfectly located to explore, either by jumping on the cable car down the road or a drive further afield. The mountain views are simply stunning but there is so much more ... cable cars, lakes, dams, wild flowers, snowball fights, ice tunnels, thermal baths, Swiss National Day fireworks, hiking, climbing, waterfalls, gorges, glaciers, fondue, apricot tart, chocolate ..... A wonderful holiday in a lovely chalet.
