I recently stayed at Barbaros Hotel in Çanakkale, Turkey. Overall, the experience was okay, but not great. The hotel has potential, but it definitely needs some renovation. The rooms and facilities are showing signs of wear and could use an update to improve the overall guest experience. One major issue I encountered was the language barrier. The hotel staff were friendly, but many of them did not speak English, which made communication difficult at times. Hiring staff who can speak English would greatly enhance the experience for international guests. Despite these drawbacks, the location of the hotel is convenient, and the breakfast provided was decent. With some improvements, Barbaros Hotel could become a much better place to stay.

A very large room with a good size bathroom and everything was very clean. Good water pressure and hot water day and night. The bed was comfortable with nice linen and pillows. Breakfast was a standard Turkish buffet. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking available directly in front of the hotel. Short drive into the main part of the city, and a small supermarket is available around the corner.

Not a good place if you are a light sleeper and get a street facing room. It is located on a very busy intersection and the windows are not soundproof, so the loud traffic noise continues until at least 11pm-12pm. The room description said there was air conditioning but then I found out they only allow it to be turned on in summer. You cannot cool the room from the built-in heater (no on-off or temperature control switches on heater). It became quite stifling and opening the windows created more traffic noise. If you fall asleep with the windows open during winter you will wake up freezing, so if you want/need to control room temperature confirm the room description matches the room you are paying for. I paid for the laundry service (washing/drying) and some items came back quite damp.

We stayed for one night as a large family. Rooms were clean and good size. Staff was very accomodating with our requests. Good value for money.

Everything was perfect, staff was friendly and helpful parking space was a plus.
