This lodge is a true little gem surrounded by beautiful countryside yet so close to York. The property is well equipped, cosy and very comfortable.

This property is ideal for people who want to find a peaceful place to stay. The accommodation is spacious and very clean and tidy. We couldn't fault it and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is also a great place to stay for using the Park & Ride to go into York, going to the beautiful local beaches of Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay and Filey and also visiting the Yorkshire Moors.

Very nice location as a lot of attractions are within an hour drive. Although in a residential area, but the lodge is very secluded and only living creatures we could see were birds and rabits.. Richard was very quick in responding to all of our queries and was very helpful. Bridget spent long time in cleaning And sanitising the lodge to keep it ready for us. Have to mention that the chocolate cake was amazing welcome treat. Our autistic son loved the entire stay and would definitely plan another visit as York has much more to discover..!!

The property is very clean and well equipped. It is in a very quiet and secluded location and ideal for anyone wanting to use as a base for day trips around North Yorkshire. The veranda is lovely and it was entertaining watching the rabbits and squirrels.

Very quiet and scenic location with everything needed for a comfortable, restful break. In easy reach of the A64 to explore Yorkshire. We would definitely like to return.

The property was absolutely perfect. It was immaculately clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The communication was fantastic and Richard was so very helpful and kind. York itself is beautiful and so historic. Would absolutely recommend both York and staying in this accommodation.

Our 2nd visit and definitely not the last! It’s perfect in every way.

Orchard Lodge is incredible value for money. It offers that 'cabin in the woods' experience of being away from the world without having to travel miles into the wilderness! The photos are good but they don't do the cabin justice. The areas around the cabin have much more character and charm, and are more 'weathered in' than they appear in the photos. The veranda is a real highlight, the morning views are stunning and even in the heavy rain we were able to sit outside and enjoy the sound. If you like wildlife, you'll enjoy visits from the squirrels and rabbits around the area, as well as a pheasant if you're lucky. All facilities inside the cabin were more than adequate; decent oven, cooker etc., And the shower had good pressure and temperature control. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The log cabin was fully equipped with everything you needed, lovely quite location and yet very convenient for exploring York. We only stayed a couple of nights but a lovely location to stay much longer and visit more places.

Wonderful and peaceful location. Lodge was comfy and had everything you need. Great porch to have a memorable morning coffee or family breakfast. It was great as a base to explore York, The Dales and coast. Owners were very friendly and greeted us upon arrival. Also gave us good hints and advice how to get around the area. We had a really enjoyable holiday!

This was a fantastic place to stay, very clean and has everything you need. Richard & Bridget are very lovely and provide lots of useful information about the area as well as leaving a little welcome gift. It’s in a very peaceful location and just a short journey to the park & ride for getting in to York. I can highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful quiet rental. Close to all excursions in York city center with easy access to public transportation. We had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Richard met us on arrival and gave a very warm welcome, explaining how things worked and making some recommendations as to local facilities. The lodge is beautifully kept, we had no complaints about location or the cleanliness of the lodge. The new boiler provided endless hot water and kept us snug. It was not far to the local park and ride, a must for visiting York, and we made the most of it. There was so much to see and do a week was not really long enough. A big thank you to Richard for providing a smashing base for our York trip.

We enjoyed staying in this very clean, well set up cottage out in the country. It was peaceful and there were plenty of good walks close by. Richard was very knowledgeable about the area. There was a nice outdoor table to eat your meals at.
