Excellent property and awesome hosts. They made the check in process so easy with a tour of the property. Very good at communicating and making sure we had everything we needed. The property had a very positive vibe and the bear theme was great! Peaceful and so quiet. Would definetly stay here again!

We felt right at home at Byrket's Hideaway. We were on a girl's trip for the weekend in Durango and this location was great because it was out of the city but only 10 minutes away from town. The house was homey and comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly stocked with everything you could possibly think of. It was a great stay!

The property was wonderful along with the hosts. I came with my recently acquired dogs and the hosts welcomed me along with my pets…extremely friendly check-in experience! The house itself is spacious, clean and welcoming! I will recommend this property to anyone and I hope to return in the future during my Durango visits.

Eddie and Deborah met me at the property and explained everything. It was great to know they were close by if needed, but also gave us all the space we wanted. We were very impressed by how well stocked the kitchen and bedrooms were, and used the tons of games!

This place is a hidden gem! Only five minutes from Lake Nighthorse, and about 15 minutes to historic downtown Durango. We spent most of our time at the lake, or playing cards on the porch at night under the stars. Eddie and Deborah made staying here feel like a home away from home! Wonderful property, wonderful hosts - would absolutely stay here again!

Fast Eddie and Slow Deborah had a wonderful, secluded property and were also attentive hosts. They showed us around, were happy to suggest things to do to improve our time in town, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would stay here again without question!

Wonderful location - quiet, secluded, private and only a few minutes from Durango. Better stocked than our house. Very nice hosts. I wish every place we stayed was as nice as Byrket's Hideaway. Thanks so much Fast Eddie and Slow Deborah.

This cabin is awesome. It is the most well stocked place we have stayed. We didn’t need for anything! The hosts are so sweet and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

This is the perfect place to getaway and also very central to see all of the wonders Colorado has to offer!

This house was perfect for the three of us. It was comfortable and had quick and easy travel to nearby shopping and attractions. It snowed a foot and it was great! We had never experienced fluffy, soft snow. It cut my shopping short, but Mother Nature had other plans. The owner was very responsive. I had requested a change and he was able to accommodate. It had a new deck installed, and it looked great. The grill was clean with a full tank of propane. Unfortunately, it was too cold for us to take advantage of this amenity. This place would definitely fit two families. I just happen to have a small one. We’ll keep this place in mind for a summer trip.

Wonderful and clean place that was perfect for the 3 of us. Quiet and very peaceful at night then in the morning saw many deer wandering thru the property. Would recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away and will definitely stay there again.

These host were so amazing and accommodating. We arrived earlier than planned and after a 15 he drive they let us in early. They meet us at the house and provide great information as well as snacks and chocolates. We loved being able to see the mule deer right outside the porch!

The retreat was just the right place for me, my husband, our four kids and my gma to stay. They provided everything you need. If you needed anything Fast Eddie was a text away. The property was very nice and secluded which my husband and his mom really like. There were several outdoor seating places that we could use during our stay. It was very homey

The home was very cozy and has a wonderful property. The hummingbird feeder was a big attraction :). Only thing I would recommend to the owners is to maybe upgrade the pots and pans. They are a little difficult to cook with. We loved the Chips and Salsa welcome gift and all the chalkboard signs were extremely helpful! One caution for renters is if there is no rain the road does not get graded and can be a pretty rough dirt road. Not very motorcycle friendly but everything about the property was amazing!

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at The Retreat. The location is perfect! We loved spending time on the porch at night after long days enjoying the area. Eddie’s was quick to respond and very helpful. Cabin is clean and well stocked with extra amenities.

Fast Eddie was an amazing host. Always willing to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The house is in a great location where you have plenty of privacy, but easy access to great locations like downtown Durango and Lake Nighthorse. Definitely will be wanting to go back.

We discovered the Hideaway 2 summers ago and came for our 3rd stay June 30-July 6. We come to Durango for the mountainbiking and it's a perfect location for us and the amenities are just what we need. The host is an old friend now and takes care of us like family. We'll be back and I highly suggest.

We had a great time at this property and had plenty of room as a family of four. Beautiful views from the deck and porch and plenty of room for entertaining. Very private, with a responsive host. Will stay again.

We went to Durango to have a celebration of life for my grandma. On the way up, we visited awesome places, and drove through dangerous conditions- so we didn't arrive until about 10pm. Eddie and Deborah were so understanding, and were just happy that we made it safe. They still came to meet us and gave us a wonderful tour. The laundry room, kitchen, closets, and bathrooms had everything we needed (laundry detergent, fabric softener, cleaners, lots of toilet paper, tons of clean towels and bedding, etc.). They left some chips and salsa and chocolates, it was such a sweet extra touch. We loved watching deer from the porches and lounging in the hammocks. We look forward to coming back every time we visit the Durango area!

This was our second time renting this property. It is secluded, in the "woods", with two decks, one covered, parking super close to the back door (easy to offload all our luggage, etc), hammocks, soaker tub, laundry facilities and a fully stocked kitchen. We traveled through two states for our son's college graduation and when we arrived travel-weary, Eddie and Debbie met us and graciously welcomed us while also pointing out all the ways to maximize our rental. The house was a great space to host an intimate graduation celebration. You can sense that Eddie and Debbie want you to enjoy your time in their property, and they give off those vibes in every way. Very positive experience. The only negative is that I had to hide all the chocolate that Debbie left for us because we were consuming it at a rapid rate :) We will be back!

We came into town a day early because of a storm coming through. The host was amazing and worked with us to get us where we needed to be before the storm hit. The house was just what we needed. We had my parents, 12 year old niece, my husband, 14 year old son, 9 year old son and myself. The house was perfect for us. It was set up with everything we could have possibly needed. The kids had a blast sledding around the property and building snowmen. We hope to be back very soon!!

The place has everything you need and I’m sure if it didn’t you’d get it fast from them.
The location is great for someone who doesn’t want to be in the middle of town. It is about 10 easy minutes to get there.
Because it’s out in the woods it is very quiet. The only noise we heard and this is also because it’s in the woods was a critter underneath scratching.
If we ever went back to Durango we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

This property exceeded our expectations. What an amazing place in the mountains with a lake within 10 minutes of the property. So much to see and do within an hours distance too.. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable and full of great memories.

Beautiful location and property. Worked perfectly to meet up for a family gathering. Lake Nighthorse 5 min away was a highlight of the trip. Eddie and Deborah supplied us with groceries that we forgot at the store! Will stay again Next time we meet in Durango!

This was our second year using this property for our cycling vacation. Close to town and trails but very secluded and natural setting to relax in. Home has everything you need for our party of two adults and six teenagers.
