Everything. Beautifully appointed, very spacious (we were a family of four with double room downstairs and kids upstairs with twin beds and room for their own lounge setting), comfortable beds (with option of futon), new kitchen and bathroom, washer/dryer, dishwasher. Great record collection, WiFi, netflicks, gorgeous Japanese garden. All in the older part of the village away from the crowd. There is a bar over the road and restaurant and 7/11 store down the road. The owners offer a shuttle bus service included with the booking and took us everywhere we needed to go: ski lifts, shopping, restaurants, train station etc. access is also available to the free ski resort shuttle service on same street to Iwatake and Happo One lifts. The hosts were super helpful and friendly. We were gifted warm azuki bean soup with Mochi for the 11 January New Year custom, and artisan bread baked each Friday by the host with option to purchase more. My favourites were the fig and walnut sour dough and cream cheese and cranberry loaf. For a real Japanese experience in a beautiful traditional home I highly recommend staying here. Hosts Koh and Mari are very attentive.

An absolutely beautiful self contained “house” hosted by two lovely, kind and caring locals. An old building (150yrs old) with all the modern amenities you could need. Easily accessible to all the resorts within a 10-15 minute drive - Koh or Mari (the hosts) will drop you off and pick you up each day. They helped with ski hire, dinner reservations...basically anything you need, they’re amazing! The beds were some of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in - the pillows, the duvets, the bedding was just perfect. Having a vinyl stereo player was also an added bonus, coming in each afternoon after being on the mountain- glass of red wine and some music.
