Keylor was very responsive and gave great recommendations for things to do! House has a fantastic layout with endless bedrooms and the pool and patio is excellent. 10 minute walk to town was a major bonus! Highley recommend

Family of 6 celebrating a 30th Birthday. It was exactly what the pictures show and more! Great art and furniture, comfortable beds and enough room for all of us! Pool was great, lovely tons for dinner. We loved it! Thank you!

The pictures promise a great location and the conversations with the host were nice. But once you find your house in a not so nice surrounding you will be totally disappointed. The area is not nice, and the whole night there are hundreds of dogs barking. The view onto the vulcano is very small - you can see the tip between concrete walls and steel roofs of the neighbour. The house is dark, needs some repairs everywhere and has some nice bugs. We could arrange our week there and accepted it but the best came at the end. Unfortunately we never got our deposit payment back and neither the host not vrbo were willing to support us. For us this was the last vacation with this host and also with vrbo. Not recommended!!!

The place was nice and conveniently located only minutes from downtown. I gave it five because of the overall value of having a 5-bedroom place. The only drawbacks were no hot water and bring your own pillows. The pool was excellent. The balcony gave you a great View of the Arenal Volcano on a clear day. Wonderfully laid-back.

We had some difficulty locating the property, but once found, we truly enjoyed our stay. The house is not extremely large, but there were plenty of beds for everyone in our two large families. The home was fairly clean although there are some ant problems which is to be expected in a tropical location. The pool and patio area are beautiful, I am only sad that our schedule was too tight to really enjoy it. We had a few incidents (locked bedroom doors late at night) which required immediate attention, and the property manager was extremely prompt in coming to our rescue. There are a few minor repairs that need to be made with some leaky plumbing and ensuring that all automatically locking doors have keys present on the property at all times. The kitchen could use a greater variety of dishes, but other than that, the home is comfortable and in a convenient location for La Fortuna.

We loved the area of La Fortuna it was hard to find a place for 10 people so I was pretty excited when I found this one. It has 5 bedrooms with several beds which could fit us all. The photos looked a little different than the actual place. It seemed smaller than the photos and darker. But yes you can see the volcano! The pool was the best part. There were a lot of bugs and especially mosquitos. We used repellant but still seemed to get bites ever night. There is no AC in the main part of the house but the rooms all had nice AC. There were a lot of neighborhood dogs that would bark at night and the neighbors were doing some construction that was loud in the mornings. But hopefully that is done by the next guest! The kitchen was well stocked with blender, microwave, stove and pots and pans and dishes that we could use. The fridge was also nice and big. The location was super hard to find but we worked with the host to find it. It is not close walking distance to shops and on a dirt road so be sure to have a car. The TV cable did not work and the host tried to fix it but did not during our stay but she plans to get it fixed soon. The wifi was good which my husband needed for work. It was a good place for big groups but wish it was more quiet and less bugs but other than that it was fine and the kids loved the pool!

Overall a decent home a short 5 minute drive from La Fortuna. Home is in residential neighborhood which was a bit deceiving from listing so there were late nights from surrounding homes & early mornings with construction next door the entire trip. The home itself is a large home, but run down and not very clean. The living area including kitchen was very dark and there was only a wicker couch so you couldn't sit any more than two people inside. We spent the majority of the trip outside by the pool when we weren't off doing excursions which was very nice, but the storm the second night cut off all the power outside so we didn't have any light. Property Mng was extremely nice & easy to work with, but will definitely not be back because of the overall condition of home. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Beautiful property suitable for large groups. Awesome location, A/C works great, 20 minute walk from town. However, be aware that there are no cooking supplies included as most rentals provide. Small things like salt, sugar, oil, etc not included. Overall safe and comfortable place to “get away” yet within reach of town!

We had a great stay at this property. It was close to town for dinner and groceries. Close to many attractions too We enjoyed spending mornings and evening on the patio and deck of the property and were lucky to have a full clear day our last day so had a great view of the volcano from the balcony.

We enjoyed our stay here! Pool was superb, location was a short drive to down town la fortuna. Our host, Keylor was very accommodating and super helpful and check in was a breeze. Great vacation rental!

Wish we had longer but the weather was so socked in that all our planned activities were not possible as no one was going to see the volcano with that weather. So it was a very quick visit. But it was a lovely home with a host that gave us a recommendation for a local restaurant that was our favorite meal of our whole trip. Host was very gracious and helpful.

Keylor was great with any questions we had. Pictures were accurate. Neighborhood was safe and close to town. Only thing we wished we had was a washer and dryer.

We as a family had an unforgettable time in this lovely property! The house was clean and very cozy! The town of La Fortunata is a must when visiting lovely Costa Rica, therefore, this home and Mr Keylor’s kindness made our experience simple unforgettable! We are thankful for all the attention Mr Keylor added to our experience.

Excellent location! Enjoyed the neighborhood. Saw howler monkies and toucans with in walking distance of the house!

The host was great and communicated quickly as needed. The home was well kept and the bedroom A/C units were a nice touch to the end of the day. We loved cooling off in the pool each evening and the BBQ pit was an unexpected nice touch. Plenty of space to move around the entire house.

Lovely and comfortable place for my whole family. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and the outside space was fantastic. Location was convenient and it was great to come home each day from exploring to jump in the pool!

The property is spacious and conducive for a large family. Keylor greeted us upon arrival and presented advice about the house as well as local activities. Wonderful stay!!!

The house was great. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that the mattresses were not comfortable. Could easily be solved by adding a memory foam mattress topper. It would also be.nice to have an oven as I like to bake, but that’s probably not a big deal to most. Really nice remodel done recently and it looks great! Kids loved the pool... Keylor communicated well with us. Thanks!

We rented the Jose Manuel Villa for 3 nights while we were visiting the Arenal area. We are the types of people who love the wilderness and places with character, and this house did not disappoint. Although it was located on the edge of town, we identified several dozen different species of birds in the yard (two with nests on the property) in addition to lizards, frogs, and the sound of monkeys in the distance. The owner was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to ensure we were able to easily locate the home and get inside despite a very late arrival after dark. He checked in with us several times during our stay to see if there was anything we needed or if we had any questions. The house itself was very spacious with 5 different bedrooms to chose from and a fantastic deck overlooking the yard on the 2nd floor. We concur with the previous reviewers that this rental would be even better with a few very minor improvements -- new bedding, enough blankets for each bed, and more towels. We thought all the showers were cold water only, but after staying at another rental with the same showerheads later on our trip, we realized that we missed the temperature controls on the showerheads. Some instruction on this would have been helpful, but given the warm temperatures outside, taking cold showers wasn't a big deal. The beds were quite comfortable and the air conditioners worked great in the bedrooms when needed. The only downside to a good night's sleep (which is out of the owner's control) is that a neighboring home has chickens that began calling around 4am each morning. It rained for the 3 days we were in town, so we didn't use the pool. But the pool area looked very inviting. We did enjoy breakfast outside and drinks on the covered deck while watching a wren build a nest and a dove feed her newly hatched chicks. Getting in and around the neighborhood was a breeze, and the house is conveniently located close to town without being right in the heart of the hustle and bustle. We would enthusiastically stay at this home again in the future if we ever visited La Fortuna again. The rental price is a little on the high side compared to other homes in the area, but it sleeps a lot of people so the cost per person could be quite cheap if you are traveling with a large family or group of friends.

This VRBO/Home Away rental could be better with some changes. The outside looks great with the pool and vegetation. When you go inside you realize this is a very rustic cabin that has been added onto many times. Nice items are the pool, location, bedroom AC and gate. Biggest issues are: No hot water in two bathrooms, beds are very hard with minimal bedding (one sheet, two pillows and very small blanket), exterior doors have no seals so the bugs come in at will. Spent time each day sweeping up the centipedes and a couple bigger bugs. Was afraid to put anything on the floor. Kitchen is very rustic with a camping stove to cook on. Washer and Dryer are locked up outside so have to ask to unlock them. Very hard to figure out how to use them, not normal units. Unique 3 phase system to wash, spin and dry. Weirdest thing was downstairs jack/jill bathroom has two decorative cement blocks open to the outside in the shower. Why do you have a big opening to the outside in the shower? Lets all the bugs in like mosquitoes. We covered it with plastic and tape. In driving to the home, do not follow Waze/Google map. They both took us the wrong direction. The Calle 444 street from the main highway #142 going north to the home is paved almost all the way. Last 100 feet is dirt. The turn off on main road is by a grocery store. Going any other way is very rough going. Activities: We did like the North Fields Coffee Tour about 10 min away and the La Fortuna Water Fall about 20 min away. Tabacon Hotsprings was nice but expensive. I hope this helps.

Out of the city, this place is perfect if you have a car and are looking for a private place. If you want to share with friends or family, you will have enough place for everyone; sleeps 14 easily. The only hic is the mattresses are a bit hard and there is no hot water in the sinks (especially kitchen). I really felt like Keylor wanted to make our stay very enjoyable.
