Very cool property with lots of deer! I’m sure in the 50s this was the coolest house around. But! It’s pretty rundown. The pool definitely was dirty. Most of us didn’t even swim because it was so merky. Vacuum doesn’t work which is a bummer because critters are around so if you want to clean up the kitchen after cooking… the vacuum isn’t an option. kitchen is not very well stocked with basic cook wear and what is there is very old and looks gross. Bbq didn’t come with bbq cookware so we had to use whatever we could find in the kitchen. One of 3 lounge chairs at the pool is completely broken. Ice machine is broken so you’ll have to buy your own. Overall the house is very cool and looks amazing on the website but it definitely it is very understocked in usable items. Not a lot of extra linens or blankets, the laundry facility is gross and has missing buttons and has a bunch of dead bugs in it… also my pillow after removing the case had a huge dead spider in it. It accommodated the family but I wouldn’t even consider staying again. Please put some love into the ambassador house! Because it would be top notch if it was just given some love.

A family of 7 with children. We all enjoyed the pool in the scorching heat of summer. The house is spacious for a bigger party.

Stayed at the property with extended family. Great entertaining space, we really enjoyed the pool table, table games, and the great views. My parents loved the deer that would visit daily while they had coffee. While it sits in the middle of a neighborhood close to everything ….it feels very secluded. Thanks for a great stay.

We loved this house! It’s so beautiful with a family of dear and a fox that seem to live on property! It’s so awesome to see them in the mornings and evenings. The house is very large. It is a bit dated but has everything you could possibly need. The only complaint my family had was that there are only 2 TVs in the house. One in the master bedroom and one in the livingroom. Other than that we had a perfect stay.

We loved this house! Stayed for a week of summer camp for my kids. It really has everything you could want for a getaway - pool, tennis courts, pool table, a HUGE yard! We would love to return again next summer. Really, really great VRBO.

I really enjoyed my stay at this property. We had a family vacation of 3 adult children and 1 grand child along with husband and myself. It was the perfect spot I will definitely be staying here again. We played pool,hung out at the pool Enjoyed seeing the deers in the evening which made the trip even better. All went well. Edgar was very pleasant.

This property has amazing charm and a fabulous feel, like stepping on to a movie set. This house was definately built for entertaining. The indoor pool table, private pool, and tennis courts kept our family entertained all weekend. There are so many indoor and outdoor chill areas I recommend bringing your yoga mat, and hammock to fully enjoy the amazing yard and watch for the beautiful free roaming deer.

The house is gorgeous and spacious, surrounded by beautiful landscaping, deer and overlooking downtown San Antonio, in the distance. It was clean and beds were comfortable and sheets soft. The check in process was easy and stress free. There is another smaller house on the property that they rent out, but they are very upfront with that and wasn’t an issue with us, because we never saw them. The location is great and close to major highways, lots of restaurants and shopping.

Exactly what we needed a decompressing no pressure family time with fun activities in home for everyone!!

Beautiful property in the middle of San Antonio. Plenty of space in the house for entertaining. We had deer in the back yard every day and a family of foxes visited one morning. Edgar was very helpful with a minor internet issue and was readily available for any questions. Good communication with the owner as well. The location was excellent with easy access to many attractions, shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

This property was absolutely stunning! My group and I wished we could have stayed an extra day just to enjoy the nature that surrounds the home. Hope to come back to this one!

We absolutely LOVED staying at this property this week! We were here for my sons medical procedure and this property truly felt like home! The pool and tennis court were a blast for our kids and we loved sitting on the patio at night enjoying a relaxing evening. Edgar the property manager was so kind and helpful if we needed anything at all! I will absolutely stay here again and recommend it to all my friends traveling to SA!

Beautiful. Stunning. My family and a few friends stayed here Feb. 20-23, 2020. We could not have been more pleased. The home is gorgeous and the property is incredible. It is more breathtaking than the pictures show. The owner was very attentive and quick to respond to any questions. The on site caretaker was also very polite and helpful. 5 stars doesn’t do this property justice.

Over the Christmas/New Year period, ten family members ranging from 5 to 80 years old had a most memorable time in this wonderful home and stunning setting of magnificent live oaks. It had everything we could have wished for - just as described on line. The location was perfect with easy access to shopping and places of interest. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, a pleasure to communicate with and very accommodating. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

When looking for a place to stay for our Dad’s 80th Birthday in San Antonio in July we had 2 must haves, a pool and enough space. The property is stunning amongst the oak trees. We rented both houses and had family come in from all around the country to join us. Both houses are very spacious with plenty of areas for people to sleep. If you’re looking for something new and fancy this probably isn’t the place. If you’re looking to create memories that will last a lifetime amongst family and friends this is your spot. It is such a peaceful location yet near anything you need in San Antonio. Working with the owner and the property manager was so easy and they were always quick to respond to any requests or questions. If you have any intentions of having a family gathering in San Antonio this is where you need to stay.

I love this property whether it's staying in the small house or the large one. Upon arriving the stunning beautiful oak trees are breath taking. The larger home with it's floor to ceiling windows are wonderful in bringing the outside inside day or night. The bedrooms are very large with comfortable beds and great little sitting areas. The swimming pool had plenty of towels and the tennis court were a lot of fun for the kids and grown ups. We actually spent more time outside than in doors. Kitchen had all the necessary cooking utensils. This house is a great retreat the only reason I gave it 4 stars were some overlooked maintenance that the property needed. I will come back whenever I'm in San Antonio with my family. Thank you.

This historic, beautiful, mid-century modern home is absolutely charming! I've stayed in many vacation rentals and this one feels more like staying with family. Not your standard cold, uninviting guest house. Everything is spread out enough so that, even with a large family retreat, there's always a place to call your own. I've read some reviews that say the kitchen, etc is a bit dated, but that's part of the charm of the house! Gives a glimpse of what life was like in the mid-century Era. The tennis courts are an AWESOME bonus! (racquets and tennis balls are provided!) While it was too cold to swim, the pool is really nice. We loved this property!

This house has everything you need! It's comfortable, nicely furnished, spacious and set in a beautiful spot. There is plenty to do on the property including a playscape, basketball hoop, tennis court, pool table, swimming pool when it's warm, and plenty of land to run and play. We cooked family meals, ordered take out and went down to the fun bowling alley/arcade nearby and the River Walk wasn't too far. We mostly wanted to spend time with each other and this was the perfect place to do so!

Beautiful sprawling mid century. Kitchen a little tired. Issues with fridge and ice. Care taker on site. Perfect for our mini family reunion of 12. Would have been nice if pool was heated or a hot tub on site. Would probably stay again. Just minutes from downtown San Antonio and Riverwalk

This property is beautiful. It is a gorgeous art deco style home in both houses. The house is spacious and the yard all around is perfect for a wedding or any celebration. We rented both homes for the weekend to house our family and have our wedding and it could not have been more perfect. The care taker and owner worked with us and made our experience perfect. We can't wait to book our next family gathering with them.

The event was scheduled to be held outside. Due to the rain the past 3 weeks, the event was moved inside. There was enough room for the band, dancing, and people to sit an eat inside. Edgar was very helpful in setting up the inside at the last minute and taking care of our needs to ensure the Surprise party was a success. Our friends and relatives had a great time and everyone loved the place. We'll be back!

I cannot imagine a better place to host my husband's retirement party and entertain our extended family for the weekend! This place was perfect for everyone -- from my 87 year-old mom to our 5 year-old granddaughter, and all of our friends and family in between! We had room for everyone -- we could be together without being on top of one another! With space to spread out and so many things to do, we all had a great time! And the party was just beautiful -- the lights on the trees and the tables on the lawn made it very special. It was an indoor and outdoor party -- again, room for multiple conversations and activities! Marco is very easy to work with and Edgar is super helpful and so nice! It was a magical weekend that we will never forget! Thanks for sharing this amazing retreat! We will be back!

This was a fantastic trip and location until after I got home and received an email saying they were turning in an insurance claim for a towel bar. Now keep in mind that nothing was broken. I typically stay at 25+ vrbo locations a year. I've never once had an issue. I photo and video in and photo and video on my way out. So that I always have proof. Besides that the only other issue was that the caretaker of the property and his family were in the pool until late on Fri. & Sat. Night and that made it weird for us to enjoy it. However this wasn't as big of a deal as the scam pulled after we left. We intended on renting this location two more times this year but not after this.

Grounds were beautiful! Easy to get to and the houses were great - enough room for our entire family to enjoy.

Just a few updates would be nice! A new refrigerator and a new operational sink by the pool would be appreciated. Hangers in the closets would have been appreciated. The lack of a restroom near the pool was difficult for the grandkids while swimming. Otherwise, the deer provided great memories for the grandkids as well as swimming. The little grandkids called the house:TEXAS! After sightseeing, the littlest ones would say they wanted to go back to Texas.

We rented the Garden House and the Ambassador House for a family celebration. Perfect in every way, great space, beautiful setting, it is like having your own personal resort. Marco makes everything easy, everything you need to know is provided in advance, and onsite caretaker handles anything that develops.

Love this House and More than enough room. We had 4 adults and 8 Children and they had plenty of space to enjoy themselves! With the pool, tennis court and playground, you really never want to leave the property! Also, the ground keeper Edgar was Awesome. Anything we needed, with one call and he was on his way to help with our needs!! I recommend this house. The decorations and style of the house is Beautifully put together!

The overall experience was fantastic and we highly recommend this property. The owners and managers made securing the property for our rehearsal dinner very easy. We had access to the property in advance to plan, and the communication was excellent. Upon our arrival, everything was in perfect order and the on site staff was there to assist us with anything we needed. The grounds and location are very lovely and we received many compliments from our guests.

The house and property were everything we wanted and more. Mid-century modern with tons of space and beautiful views of the grounds from every room. Everyone has room to spread out or gather together inside or out. The pool is even more beautiful than shown in the pictures. Have already booked our next stay to enjoy it again with the entire family.
