The location was great because it was close to many things. The property manager was very helpful in providing a couple of extra folding chairs, tea towels and some loonies we could exchange with our toonies for the laundry.

Unfortunately, our friends car was broken into in the parking garage, and it seemed like maybe not the safest street. There was garbage in the alley in front of the building.

Location was great for downtown access. We did not know there was a breakfast available. Just a note to clean the kitchen if you used it?

TV reception was terrible. Shower pressure was very poor but got the job done. Very difficult getting luggage to the third floor.

A cushion on the window set would be a nice feature .

Great location, steps from great food and music without feeling you can't get away from the noise.

The house was very nice and clean but there is an air freshener in there which was very allergy inducing. Good amenities. Clean. Good for young ppl. Or those who like to stay out late as the location is right near George St. Great restaurants right around the corner. Nice room, thanks for the chocolate!

Right outside the house , from the time we got there to the time we left, there was garbage right in front of the house, which was very unappealing. Too bad no one took it away.

This gem of a hotel was perfectly located about a 3 min walk to George's ST and the downtown core. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were super comfy. It was quiet and perfect place for a stay in St. John's

the Fan in the bath room could be on a differnt switch from light as it is a bit loud, but other than that nothing.

Beautiful building, lovely room w/en suite. Just feet away from the Center of the party and bar zone downtown.

Location was excellent, easy to get to. Close to highway access. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. Very clean and the guy who came in to do the cleaning was very nice and did his job well. Of course price was much better than hotels.

On street parking. Up early to make sure payment until we were ready to head out for the day and if back earlier than 6pm. No cost on weekend. Parking lot nearby but more costly. No air conditioning so a little warm although they did have a floor fan. And bed sunk down in the middle.

The weather was really hot, the room was closed up when we arrived and the thermostat showed it was 28 degrees in the room. Fairly noisy location with the windows wide open.

I had a wonderful stay at McKay Manor. It is well located, in easy walking distance of tourist attractions and conference center. The room was comfortable and clean. I am sensitive to noise and was traveling for work, so I was worried. But I never heard my neighbors; the street is busy, but cars didn't boder me too much as I was on 3rd floor, however people coming back bars in early hours of the night did. If you are a light sleeper and like to open windows, this might be of interest. I interacted with owners through email during my stay, they respond very rapidly and offer very good service. I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

We were not told there were students living there, which is fine, but 2 of the students were very untidy and constantly left a mess. It seemed like there was no one there to monitor the house. We would not use the kitchen at all .

Loved the history that was in the building, you could tell the home was older but at the same time it was well done to preserve the history and bring in new fixtures where needed. The house was easy to find, the only thing if you weren't paying attention you might miss it. (It was much higher than the road.) The view out the window I had (room 2) wasn't special but I wasn't in the hotel for the view I was there to rest and sleep. Loved that the room at it's own bathroom and the bed was soft while also being firm. The room had a Roku device so I could put in my own streaming services. This was great as I forgot mine.

No parking and the others in the building. So first I didn't realize that there was no parking and that the parking garage down the street you have to park in. Okay slight in-convenience until I went to pay for it. The parking garage is rather expensive and on- road parking is only allowed for a max for 2 hours. Room two has a window above the door and a light fixture right outside that window. Someone else in the house would get back every night at 10:30/ 11:00p and turn on that light along with doing a few other things. They would usually go about doing their stuff and then leave the light on after they went to their room. If there was a curtain on that window it would not have been as bad. (this is on them not the host, but just to keep in mind their are others and they may be loud or not conscious of others. The house doesn't have "quiet times" and there's no reminder about being conscious of others in the house, which I do think needs to be added.

The property was in a great location, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. It’s charming historic manor, easily accessed.

I found it difficult as I need to get up at night and I was on my own to go out of my room to the bathroom. If there were two people there, it would not be a problem. The room was beautiful. Sadly, the coffee machine did not work and I bought a jar of coffee as I like to have one to wake up.

The bedrooms have good facilities and had the feel of a home away from home.

The frosted window above our room door could use a block out shade for when other guests come in and leave the hallway light on during the night.

The room itself was very cozy and quiet and clean. It felt great to have a refuge to come back to at the end of the day. Although there were 4 other suites, I never heard a peep from anyone. It is walking distance to many attractions and restaurants/pubs.

Not the Proprietor's fault, but the downtown area where the Manor is seemed to have quite a few mentally unstable/drug addicts hanging out on the streets and as a lone woman, I didn't feel safe being out late at night. I'm not a weakling by any means, I come from Brooklyn, NY.

Location is great but room we got has window to yard well. Kitchen is available for cooking.

Interior knob on bathroom door would not operate mechanism. Set screw on knob needs to be tightened. Lone person could get locked in.
