It's so close to the beach, and have a beautiful view. And swimming pool can heat itself too. And food is amazing, there are many kind of dessert, food, drink. And room is clean and cleaning happens when we are not in here. And the workers are kind they can speak English and Japan. And they gives advice to where to go travel.

Great place for a relaxing getaway to Ishigaki. Hotel Staff are very helpful, particularly Josh who goes above and beyond with recommendations. Hire the car from the hotel.

The hotel is right next to a wonderful beach with clear water, free and not crowded, from where you can see spectacular sunsets. Room with view of the ocean and sunset. It's magical to come back in the evening, open the room door and be welcomed by the setting sun on the other side. The hotel is in a remote are of the island, without shops or other restaurants nearby. Thanks to that, when the sky is clear at night you can see so many stars and the milky way! Be sure to plan ahead if you want to move around a lot, but the island is not so big so with a rental car you can go everywhere in little time. Pickup and drop off from the airport is very helpful if you don't rent a car. Communicate your flights in avance and they will organise everything. Food at the restaurant is very good, being there for 5 days we tried many items from the menu and we enjoyed all of them. The staff is very nice and always helpful. If you need some information on how to move around the island, sightseeing or activities, thay can help you with everything you need. You can rent a car, bycicle, kayak, snorkeling set and other things at the hotel. Kayaking between the mangorves and into the sunset is incredible. If you visit in high season, it is better to book activities, tours and rental cars well in advance before going there, otherwise you risk to find everything fully booked. Ishigaki island has many hidden beaches that are just awesome, plus you can visit other narby islands by ferry. Each one of them has a unique vibe. Definitely a wonderful stay.

Breakfast was good and abundant, but a bit simple. Some more variety of chioce would be the cherry on top.

We stayed at the wonderful Sunset Cove Hotel in early July, 2022. We certainly had a great time at this hotel. The hospitality and service was excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the manager was very kind and generous from Day 1 and made us feel at home throughout our stay. We enjoyed watching the sunset everyday and the atmosphere of the hotel was very relaxing. We would definitely stay at this beautiful hotel again. We highly recommend Sunset Cove Hotel if you want the best experience in Ishigaki island.

The view from the hotel is beautiful as it's located directly on the west side of the island. It's quiet and serene. The breakfast was pretty basic consisting of made to order eggs with bacon or sausage and hash potato and three types of cereal, plain yogurt, fresh fruit and various breads. Coffee, tea, milk and orange juice were provided. The dinner menu was quite tasty. It's mostly all western style food. Finally, the absolute best part was meeting and speaking with the staff. The ladies were phenomenal and I miss them already. Thank you so much.

I had some work to do during my 7 night stay. Too often, while working online, the WiFi dropped leaving me hanging and wondering if I was going to lose any data. Luckily, that didn't happen and I normally don't take work on vacations. But something personal happened just prior to our trip and my wife wasn't able to come with me so I planned to use some of the down time to catch up. Normally, one finds an information book in the room upon check in. Mine wasn't provided until the day before my departure. There were a few things that would have been nice to know sooner. Lastly, a car is a necessity. Sunset Cove is remote.

The GM, Josh, was always there to give a lot of great recommendations about Ishigaki island. All other staffs were very friendly too. The food was great. We spent 4 nights and had dinner every single night there!

A little far from the city but very calm and relaxing place ...

The location is great and not too close to the city. The hotel could manage our transportation and that was great. Despite the room was small but we enjoyed the quiet beautiful nature surrounded the hotel. We enjoyed the ocean view from the room also.

We didn’t have rental car during the stay I’m the middle of nowhere. The room was small and the bathroom was super tiny and had some mildew smell. The furniture was old and cheap. The food could be healthier and offer more local dishes would be better.

Gorgeous views of the beach and ocean, staff was very helpful and accommodating, delicious breakfast included, very convenient with restaurant within the hotel and parking available on site. Great access to a lot of the sites on the island, and plenty of beautiful beaches around. Kayaks and bikes available here to use (unfortunately we didn't have enough time to use them!) The owner was very kind and seemed to care about making the guests comfortable and happy.

We had a great time at Sunset Cove and if we make it back to Ishigaki we will definitely stay here again. The staff was amazing and treated us like family/friends and were willing to help with anything we needed. They definitely go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The villa was the perfect size for our family and we were very comfortable. Our family definitely recommends Sunset Cove.

we stayed in an apartment and the facilities were great. We had privacy and everything we needed. The sunset views from our apartment were great. Sea view from the living room.

There is a roof terrace and it would have been good if the surface was cleaned up - jet washed or repainted.

Great location! Can drive to beautiful spots or stay in and go to the beach, mangroves or pool. Very good value! We will come again when rainy season is over. We really liked the breakfast, too. The breakfast is large and Western style. On the note of food: there is a booze vending machine on site, just fyi. We enjoyed talking to the staff, and they were very helpful. We went diving with a company they recommended which worked out nicely. Oh! And they rent cars on site which was very well priced. The shuttle to and from the airport was super helpful, too.

Great isolated location on the north side of the island that is close to many great beaches. Breakfast in the morning was phenomenal. The property manager, Josh, was very helpful in planning the trip, giving recommendations and accommodating for different needs during the stay. Beds reasonably comfortable which is rare in Japan. When I left my phone, it was immediately mailed back to me in mainland Japan.

Hot water was quirky, but it may have been user error. Remember to turn the heater on before you turn the water on. And turn it off between uses.

Booking listing is misleading. Noted multiple beds that weren’t present in rooms. Overall felt very expensive for what we actually got.

After many recommendations to stay at the Sunset cove we were extremely happy with our stay. Josh (the resort owner) and his staff made us feel right at home by providing us with a variety of amenities as well as opportunities. During the day we had access to free kayaks which we could use whenever we wanted which allowed us to travel along the mangroves and find hidden beaches which were otherwise inaccessible. We were also offered bikes and electric bikes to make travelling easier, and we were given an Amazon Fire Stick which was a lovely touch and something you rarely see at hotels! The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of our stay. To top it all off, it is also an excellent location to catch the sunset and stargazing on clear nights. We will definitely been staying here again!

The view and location were fantastic. Being on the beach, views from the rooms, and snorkeling right off the shore were highlights. It's located on the more remote part of the island, which was exactly what we were looking for.

This hotel is excellent in terms of location, facilities like breakfast, pool , beautiful front beaches , surrounded with lots of forestry! The dinner menus are so delicious and aromatic in flavor that I am become fan of it ! The stuff welcomed us with great hospitality and provide excellent services during our stay! I would recommend everyone to stay in this hotel !

The stay was more than comfortable. Every staff member was exceptionally friendly and helpful with any request. The location is a bit remote but that's the point of coming to this beautiful island anyway. There is no convenience store around but food in the hotel is absolutely delicious. Room was relatively clean, beds were comfy. We could not access Wifi from our room but as we haven't stayed in much anyway, it wasn't a big problem. You have a small beach just few steps from your doorway and non-stop access to the swimming pool - very enjoyable. Definitely would stay again!

Wifi signal from rooms was really the only thing that could be improved. There is one overall WIFI that you can access without issues from the lobby/restaurant/ reception.
