Immaculate, the home was outfitted with modern facilities. Quiet and relaxing on the outside. Definitely my choice for family home away from home.

Everything was set up to have a great time. Three generations, space for everybody to have their own fun. Great to be back to Eleuthera

We have been coming to Rainbow Bay since 1986 and Sweet Merlot is the nicest rental we have ever had! Our family of 7 had ample room fir everyone to have their own space. The deck space and pool were an added bonus! The house was situated in a perfect spot in Rainbow Bay for beach access and long walks as well as offering views of the ocean, sunrises and settings. It was difficult to leave!

The house is very nice and clean. It is roomy enough for a large family. The location is in the center of the Island, but most restaurants and stores are either on the North or South end which is 40-50 minutes away on very rough roads. It is lacking on some of the amenities, there was only partial toilet paper left on the rolls so we had to go to the store to purchase more to get us through the week. No laundry detergent - we had to wash towels every night. No hairdryer. The TV did not have cable available and the VCR player wasn't connected (no HDMI cord) so it wasn't possible to watch any of the tvs. We didn't know where to take the trash, it just said to a central trash location. We finally found instructions (on the last day) with instructions for many things we had questions about, which would have eliminated all the text messages with the owner/manager. One important thing was when the electricity goes out, the water goes off. A basic thunderstorm can cause the electricity to go out for almost the entire day - no candles in the house. No instructions for how to get to twin beach but we found a different beach that was beautiful.

I would caution anyone from renting this home. We have rented vacation houses for 12 years in the US and outside of the US and haven't been this unhappy or felt unsafe. Overall we were satisfied with the location of the property and the AC units working well. However, we didn't feel safe due to a large dog in the adjoining yard and no wifi for communication. We did not have wifi for 3 of 4 days that we were there and the property managers worked hard to resolve that. But without wifi we had no way to get in touch with them reliably. Wifi is listed as an amenity but BE AWARE that they don't feel that it needs to be working well for guests. There was lukewarm water one day and the rest of the days we had no hot water. The water pressure was so low that you wouldn't be able to wash your hair. The check in instructions were very vague and it was frustrating to find what the manager told us to look for. There is a large, intimidating dog in the yard as you walk up to the house. I grew up with dogs and I was scared of this one. It could have easily jumped the short fence. I was not comfortable entering/leaving the house with my infant daughter when the dog was outside. There was no written information about the house or location provided by the hosts. We didn't know how to get down to the beach nearby and fully enjoy our location. We received check out instructions that asked us to remove the trash from the house and take it somewhere that was supposed to be described on the refrigerator. There was no info there. Asking guests to remove the trash from the house (beyond putting in a bin) is well beyond the scope of normal asks for vacation rentals. We have been renting homes for the last 12 years and this has never been an ask. I wouldn't rent here again.
