Our visit was very nice. The house was fairly clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the location of the beach house as it was located very close to many places we wanted to see and shop. The beach access was great!Our furry companions enjoyed the property too.I think the elevator was a fantastic way to fully access the different levels especially for some of our elderly family.Kitchen was great..pool and hot tub were thoroughly enjoyed.Overall experience was excellent!!The staff at Beach Realty were wonderful to deal with and we had no problems. We would recommend this property to others.I would however suggest updating furniture and sofas on 3rd level as they have been "enjoyed" alot it would appear.

We usually rent a home in Kitty Hawk during the summer, but decided to mix things up and spend New Years in Nags Head. The home was perfectly situated on the beach road with a close cross walk and views of the beach. The house offered all of the amenities, including an elevator and a hot tub. We would definitely sty here again--maybe in the summer next time!

The house met all of our family’s needs. The elevator allowed for older generations to attend. Our dog was able to go with us on the trip and renting Happy Dog Days made that possible. Communication with the realty company during our stay was easy and effective. The location of the house was convenient to north and south Outer Banks beaches and parks.

This was my first stay in Nags Head. I have ben coming to the Banks since the seventies with multiple stays in Duck, Salvo and Buxton. Nags Head street noise was overwhelming over Labor Day weekend. On the positive side we were close to restaurants and stores. The house was okay and very close to the beach. The swimming pool was the big draw. Beautiful and framed by palm trees.

We had a great experience at this rental. It’s rare to find a rental that welcomes pets, let alone one that is centered around pets. We had a blast! Steps from the beach, we’ll-stocked rental. The backyard pool and dog-space was exceptional. The house was absolutely spotless, which is impressive given that it is pet-friendly. Rental company was responsive to maintenance concerns. Elevator was not working during our stay, but company communicated issues ahead of rental. Would 10/10 recommend.

We truly enjoyed this house. It’s perfect for a larger family. The pool was lovely. Having the fenced in backyard was a luxury for a beach vacation with your dogs. The house is close to so many things, restaurants, ice cream and grocery stores. Most of all close to the beach! A quick walk across the street to the public access with parking (we didn’t use it) and there were not any steps to reach the beach!! A huge plus with several little kids in tow. One downside is that area of the beach has the storm drain so it’s recommended not to swim within 200 feet. Kitchen is well stocked, sharp knives, awful frying pans but that’s expected. The pool area seriously feels like a beach oasis with palm trees and rose bushes. It’s very pretty back there. There is fence and secure gate around the pool to keep little ones out. The house is very cute with all its dog decorations and the master bath on the top level is huge with double shower heads. We would definitely stay at this house again.

Easy beach access, nice pool and hot tub. Well maintained and heated pool a plus! Some decks and railings need to be replaced/stabilized in very near future. We had a good time and really liked it! Loved the extra play space for the dog! Yard had no THORNS which is a huge plus so very pet friendly!

This house is in a great location. Very close to beach, shops, restaurants, and the dunes. Spacious bedrooms and having the elevator was very helpful for my elderly father. The house does need some TLC. I sent a list of items to the realty. Hopefully repairs/replacements will be done but I see from previous reviews that some of these items have been ongoing issues. The internet is terrible so it cannot be relied upon if you need to work while at the house. The cleaning staff needs to do a better job cleaning the floors. I understand it is a dog friendly house but there was excessive dog hair on the main floor when we arrived. Otherwise we had a great week. It's a fun house that's great for all ages. The teens loved the volleyball net! The owner has gone to great lengths with the dog decorations. So unique!

This house is great for furry friends!Much of the cookware in the kitchen needs to be replaced. Itneeds to be replaced. The lock on the entry door did not always work properly when the code was put in. The location is great just being steps away from the beach. We left having made many special memories!

The worst house we've experienced in 30 plus years of renting at the Outer Banks. Appliances outdated, kitchen poorly stocked with utensils, filters on the wall caked with dirt, pool was dirty, took 3 days to repair a loud grinding refrigerator freezer moter. Matresses lumpy. Only two deck chairs. Overall the house has been poorly maintained and highly overpriced.

We definitely enjoyed our time. The lawn was definitely in better shape than years past. They changed 2 chairs upstairs. Generally clean in the cottage. The place is dog friendly so I know it can get dirty but whomever stayed before had a fluffy dog, there were some bits of fluff left upstairs. My only concern was the chlorine in the hot tub was a little intense and broke my husband out. The pool could have been cleaner. Would stay here again.

But neither never really dried. The mold in the showers, the a/c were black vents and the overall cleanliness was gross. I am not sure if it was the owners or the realty company that missed this one. There was no vent for the stove so if any smoke or steam happened there was no way to get rid of it. The large picture on the stairwell had a broken frame with nails sticking out, a HUGE danger to small children since it was at their eye level. There was a hole in the wall from a previous guest. The pool has broken tiles, the high chair was broken and unusable, and the tv connection to hulu was very spotty. I called and reported all of this and was told a repairman would be out to fix the broken things. No one ever showed up.

We stayed at Happy Dog Days last year and had such a great time I reserved it for this year. A great home floor plan and great yard. Across the street from beach. This year when we arrived the pool was dirty and had to wipe down the table and counter. Not the owners fault, I have heard they have some house prep problems this year with getting people to work. People working rushing trying to keep up. Overall, a nice home and near alot to do.

Check-in was stated as 4-6, but the house was not ready until closer to 6. A 4 o’clock check-in would have been preferred. Check-in/check-out are very convenient, with the keypad locks. Not having to go to a rental office is great. The house had some wear and tear, but nothing objectionable. The layout is nice. The backyard is great for anyone traveling with a dog. The only real problem was the TV/Internet service. The internet was terrible. We had to reset the router multiple times per day. This wouldn’t have been disruptive if the house had cable TV service, but it was streaming only. Even when the internet was working, it was so slow that the TV spent as much time buffering as playing. So, the TV experience was terrible and everything else was good. If the TV situation was corrected, I would recommend to a friend.

We frequently rent the homes that this particular owner owns due to them being so well equipped for pets. Dealing with repairs or having to call the rental office in Kitty Hawk is a whole other ball game. No one communicates with each other so if you need something repaired during your stay, chances are, you are going to wait at least a few days. When we arrived it was dark and of course all of the lights were burnt out in the pool area and dog area. So luckily we had flashlights to be able to go through the yard, prior to letting our dogs in it, to make sure all was safe for them.Next up was the bottom door lock was broken. We checked in on Saturday and the door lock wasn't fixed until Wednesday early evening. So one of us had to stay home with our dogs and our valuables due to a door that didn't lock for the first 4 days. Someone from the owner's maintenance crew showed up on Monday, said he would return that afternoon, and that was the last we saw of him. It's ridiculous that multiple calls need to be made to the realty company in order to get things repaired etc. As far as making our reservation, go thru the Duck office, they are much more organized and on top of things. The home was clean and well furnished. Dishwasher didn't work too well though but the kitchen was well equipped. It really is a great house for people looking for a good place for your dogs to be able to run around and be safe.

Overall, the house was nice. It was large enough for our entire family, the amenities were nice. It is in a nice location, with beach access across the street. You do, however, have to cross the main street to get to the beach (which is busy). It allows more than one dog, and has a very nice fenced in pay are for them. My biggest complaints were 1. the beds were not clean upon arrival (sand, grass and pee pads in the sheets. They had not been washed after the last tenants left), 2. the dishes in the cabinets and drawers were dirty (silverware still had food on them in the drawers) and 3. we had several maintenance issues that were brought to the attention of the rental company upon arrival, but none of the issues were addressed until Thursday after many phone calls. The big issues were that the elevator did not work (which was a main reason I got this house because my father is battling lung cancer and can't climb the stairs, and the kitchen is on the 3rd floor), the smoke alarms kept going off because the batteries were dead, the TV in the master bedroom did not work, and the washing machine didn't agitate when trying to wash all the sheets upon arrival. We were told that the owner of the property had their own maintenance person, and she was not responding to any of their requests to fix the items. Finally, the elevator was fixed on Thursday. The rental company was very friendly and helpful, but they can only do as much as the owner would allow. There was a concierge service with this rental company that I used quite a bit. The man's name was Ben, I believe, and he was a great help on ideas of things to do, directions, etc. I spoke with him numerous times throughout the week and his knowledge of the area was very beneficial to me since we had never been there before. Overall, the house was in good condition, just wish the owner would have responded to our maintenance concerns long before Thursday, and the beds had been cleaned prior to our arrival.

This was a great vacation house . The fenced in yard for the fur babies was really nice . Location was perfect , right between Austin seafood and I said pier. Heated pool and hot tub were very nice. I called the rental company with a couple of concerns and they were taken care of immediately. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this house to friends. Only thing I would add more lighting in the house in the kitchen and living room, and the bottom level.

First time staying in the fall. It was nice to have a fireplace that we got to enjoy. Pool tempature was like bath water towards the middle to end of the week - although first couple of days it was real cold. Only issue was with we blew a breaker in the house and mainteance kept on saying that the breaker box was in the house and it wasn't - I told the maintenance crew to make sure the main office knows the location when/if it happens again in the future. Only suggestion that we have is to have instructions on the electronics/TV's. Had a great week.

house was great easy walk to beach. Great to have elevator. only bad thing was there was a very bad smell when we first came in on the ground floor. Smelled funny the whole time but we never really stayed on the ground floor. rooms nice size,clean with tv in each room. would definitely come back.

Happy Dog Days is a wonderful beach house. It's location is perfect - near the pier, the ocean, shops, and in the nicest part of Nags Head. The house is decorated and furnished beautifully. It was sparkling clean when we arrived, and maintenance responded quickly to minor issues (eg. Light bulb replacement, fixed a fence latch), even coming on a Sunday when minor repairs are generally held until the next weekday. It was hands down the best vacation we've ever taken, and we will definitely be booking Happy Dogs Days again.

This house was truly amazing. The house was very clean. Beds were super comfy. Home decor was super cute. Pool was a hit with the kids (young & old). I honestly felt at home in this house. Most rentals do not have that homey feel, but this house did for your family. Beach is steps away which was very convenient.

Beautiful home with all the amenities that a person could ask for. Loved the hot tub, but we really wished the pool had of been warm enough to get in. It was supposed to be heated but the weather was so cold that if it was, you definitely could not tell. Other than that, it was a very nice relaxing week! My kids loved going through the house looking at all of the dog pictures and decorations. All in all, just what we needed!!! Thanks!!

We found this house to be one of the best places on the outer banks if your are traveling with pets. The dog yard was beyond perfect (not one burr in the grass) it was a large enough area for them to play (which was good because the weather was not the best for taking walks. As for the humans we had a great time, elevator was perfect for our 86 yo mother. There was plenty of room for everyone since the weather was not cooperating with our plans for outside activities. There were a few minor issues that were promptly addressed by the service person. Could not have asked for a better vacation home. Will definitely be renting here again next year. It hit every single must have for our family.

We really enjoyed the cottage and the pool. Our dogs were very comfortable and enjoyed having the play area. The kitchen had plenty of pots and pans for cooking. It was nice having the two refrigerators as well. My mother has a bad knee and the elevator worked out very well for her. I have no complaints. We had plenty of towels and the public access to the beach was right across the street. We will most likely like to rent again, but unsure when next year.

7 adults, 5 children, and 5 dogs stayed at Happy Dog Days and loved every minute of it. The house was clean and had enough space for all of us to spread out. The separate dog area was great - and so was the paw-shaped pool! Only complaint was the lack of kitchen necessities - salt/pepper, paper/aluminum foil products, etc. It was not as well-stocked as some of the other properties in which we have stayed in the past.

It was a great vacation. The close proximity to the beach access made it easy to walk on the beach every morning. I saw some beautiful sunrises. I wish I could wake up to that everyday. The rental experience was ok. The key was not ready until exactly 4:00pm. We also had called about the pool being heated. On day 3 it finally was. After three phone calls about it.
