My family and our two dogs had a terrific time at this home. We had plenty of space to spread out but also had fun family time. The pool and hot tub were highlights of our week. The view was perfection for coffee in the morning and later in the evening for the sunset. The fenced in yard was great for the dogs. I did not have to worry about them getting away. We would love to come back and stay again.

The house was simply amazing. Surprisingly it looks better in person than it does in the pictures and the location is fantastic. Our family probably enjoyed walking 75 feet out to the sound and spending time in the water there than we did on the beach. The kids also loved the spa, the pool and the pool table and my wife and I really enjoyed having some drinks on the upper deck while enjoying watching the golfers go by (its a really fun golf course to play by the way) and then the amazing sunsets. Hard to imagine a scenario where anyone could be disappointed in this wonderful gem of a home.

We stayed for a week in early June. We had some problems that I do not feel were properly addressed by the management team. We reported the ice maker not working on the first day and it was never fixed. I still don't know if the technician who came was able to fix it or needed parts or what. We all love ice, and it was a big inconvenience for us to have to buy bags of ice to fill the freezer every day. We also discovered that the property has a large quantity of palmetto bugs (water bugs) in the pool and hot tub area. We built a fire on the second night to enjoy the outside area at night, and it brought out the bugs in force. The exterminator came 3 days later and said he couldn't do too much because of all the vegetation around the pool area. So we could only use that area in the heat of the day. The fenced yard was nice for my dog, but my small dog was able to push open the gate leading to the golf course. That lock was fixed on the third day. No one at the management company was able to tell us whether we could use the Villages Beach Club, but the club said we had no membership rights there. They directed us to a beach access parking lot, and the bathrooms there were locked with a code that no one knew. We found out by asking other people at the beach access. The inside of the house was nice but dining and living room are too small for a party larger than 6 adults. Lots of dog hair under the beds and furniture, so cleaning is still an issue from prior reviews. The management company still has not answered all of my questions about these issues. Over all, those problems changed our mind about renting this house again next year.

The house is service clean only. Definitely in need of a deep clean which includes under furniture. We paid the additional charge to heat the pool however the pool was never vacuumed prior to our arrival so the bottom of the pool was very dirty. The deck surrounding the pool was full of debris from surrounding trees and shrubs so everytime you went in, you took it in the pool with you. There was a net that we were able to use to remove surface debris. We made do but overall the condition of the pool was unacceptable especially paying more to heat it so we could enjoy it. The ceiling in the room with the bunk beds leaks. Thankful that we did not have to utilize this room during our stay. Property management was made aware of this issue.

We had a great 2 weeks at Doggone Perfect! One thing might need to be addressed is the back railing from the queen/ bunk room. It is very rough and very easy to get slivers. We also couldn't use the 2nd floor master, because the bed is so high. Other than that, a perfect 2 weeks! Pool and hot tub were great too! Soundside sunsets were gorgeous!

We ended up with awful weather all week and still managed to have a wonderful family spring break. Kids braved the cold to enjoy the heated pool while mom and dad happily enjoyed from the hot tube. We brought our dog and the whole property was very dog friendly. Planning to come back next year.

The location and amenities were great. The quality of the home and the beautiful view of the Sound were wonderful. I will caveat my next statement with the fact that I realize pets are allowed at this location but that should not universally excuse the cleanliness of a home. It is unacceptable for dog hair to be ubiqutious throughtout the home. My wife and I spent two hours vaccuming and Swiffering the floors and furniture. With the amount of dog hair we cleaned up, I find it highly unlikely that any serious effort was made by the cleaning crew to vaccum, Swiffer, or mop the floors. Also I assume the accumulation of hair casued a dog odor to permeate and linger throughtout the home. In addition, when we moved the coffee maker to wipe the counter there was an accumulation of dirt, water, and I assume coffee grounds accumulated underneath, which again indicates to me that no serious efforts were made to address basic cleaning.

There was a lot of great things but also a lot of downsides, Not well kept or clean. Ice maker never worked not one cube of ice. My husband checked that it was on and bucket and drawer were properly placed still never worked. Had to buy ice all week a bit of an inconvenience. Outdoor area was wonderful but alot of things need repair. Railing into Gazebo is about to break. Going out of the gate to yard area near the Gazebo had a black cable coming up out of the ground this was a serious trip hazard. We also were supposed to have pool heat which I paid for but it was not on and I did not get the pool heat until Wed. It would also be really nice if the tree did not hangover the pool the sun only hits the pool in a couple small places. There are a lot of nice Lounge chairs but there is nowhere to use them since everything is hanging over the area preventing the sun from hitting the area. The outdoor fireplace was a wonderful treat at night to help keep the bugs away and roast marshmallows. The fountains in the pool was by far my favorite thing and makes up for a lot of other downsides. The sound is so relaxing I loved them. The other big upside is that the house is set up to cater to your fur babies and that I appreciated and respected a lot.

After the initial disappointment upon arriving, as the photographer did an amazing job showcasing this house, the uniqueness of this house did grow on us. The location is wonderful with amazing views from the deck and easy access to the sound. You may find stray golf balls in the pool or in the front but will definitely have them in the back yard. The 2nd floor layout is somewhat chopped up to accommodate 5 bedrooms and the description of a theater room seems a bit generous. Like others have mentioned, the dining area is small and fits 8 at most, but the 3rd floor is pretty open to allow for other areas to eat/snack. There were a few items (blinds, freezer door handle, baby gate) that could use attention (maintenance) but wasn't worth bothering the PM company with. Top 2 floors were relatively clean but could've used a vacuuming under the furniture and in the windows (dead insects). The first floor didn't look to be addressed at all - especially the bathroom off the pool - leaves and cobwebs, looks like it hadn't been cleaned since the fall. There are other areas around the property that could be repaired/refreshed. Additionally, the American flag flying in the back has seen much better days and should be retired for a fresh one as it was pretty tattered. With all that being said, we enjoyed the stay and appreciated the quirks of the property. It was one of the very few properties that had a pool and hot tub. Its location did afford some gorgeous views especially the sunsets. The neighborhood was quiet, and people were friendly. The location was great and not too far for a day trip up to Corolla or down to Hatteras. A 10-minute drive over to Manteo was also a nice treat. We would stay again but would be hopeful that some of the items would be addressed.

house was great, enjoyed the sunset from the top deckpool and hot tub were nice after a long daylocation was great one issue was most of the lower level lights on the house and under were burnt out. and last night of the stay we had a cockroach in the master bedroom.On the outside enclosed dog pen one of the boards was missing so if you had a small dog it could get thru. Our dogs love the large back yard.great house will stay agian

Most relaxing winter vacation ever! It’s located in a very quiet golf community on the sound side. The sound views from the sectional sofa and upper level were gorgeous. We’ll stocked kitchen and there are bathrooms attached to every bedroom.

Such wonderful sunsets!! The house suited us just fine but there are some things that renters should know. If your dog can't manage circular stairs (as mine could not), the only way to access the fenced yard is from two of the five bedrooms, or to go out the front door, down the front steps and then walk around back. I had hoped to use one of the two bedrooms with a fireplace and that turned out to not be an option for me.That said, the fireplaces didn't work out for my guests who did have those rooms. One fireplace was too loud (a noisy fan) and one simply didn't work. Maintenance came right away for this and another issue that they quickly resolved. I was pleased with maintenance response. We were eight adults. The living area was a little tight when we were all there and we often had to bring in an extra chair or two from another part of the house on those occasions.But what a lot of great memories we built over the week! It was truly a great winter beach getaway.

We had a family Christmas gathering. The views were amazing until the storm surge. We had to scramble to get out before the water rose. We had to leave a day early. We were most disappointed in the staff when we called to let them know the home was flooding, the girl on the phone was very flippant and said, “Yes that happens”!? No instructions of what to do. Thank Goodness we got out just as water was coming over the steps! The house was fairly clean, but ALL the rugs need to be replaced!

The house was great for us. Hot tub was fantastic and the views are great. Some of the chairs are a little wobbly though. Overall we were very happy but there are a lot of steps. It's tough taking the dogs out because the little ones needed to be carried to the middle floor- and the outdoor access to the gated yard is only in bedrooms. We were happy with it and would rent this again. Did I mention the views are amazing!!!

Beach Realty was very responsive & corteous. Unfortunately, we had to contact them at least 7 times for maintenance issues. The decor & functionality in this house needs attention. Lamps that were old, broken & didn't work even with new light bulbs, ill-fitting & outdated bed comforters. The kitchen is not well appointed. Terrible pan selection, only 6 bowls, no serving dishes. The cleaning people did a terrible job before we arrived. Absolutely filthy floors, dusty shelves, stained & dirty bed coverings. Very off-putting. On a positive note, the outside area is beautifully landscaped. Gorgeous front yard & pool area with a nice big hot tub. We used the outdoor fireplace a few times & it was very nice. I do recommend adding a fire tool but we managed. This home has 5 bedrooms and 2 mini bedrooms with space for 14 people to sleep. However, there are no common areas big enough for that many people. The living room comfortably seats 4 or 5 people at most. The dining area is in an alcove so 8 people can sit at the table but can't get in or out without everyone getting up to move. There are no other indoor common areas. The mattresses were all VERY firm. The propane tank ran out midweek & the owner failed to contact gas company for refill so we had NO HOT WATER for 36 hours. Realty company notified them immediately but they took no action. House needs an exterminator. I realize it's a waterfront property in the South but we saw way too many roaches in the house during our stay. The sound access & sunsets were absolutely wonderful. We really wanted to love the house. We wait ALL year for this vacation & spend ALOT of money on the rental fees & this house just wasn't up to par with others we've rented in this price range. I wish the owner would take a look at the interior with the mind of a resident & see how appealing it could be with a few upgrades.

we all enjoyed our stay and have booked same week for next year. my only suggestions, gas grill, we had to go buy one because grill there was in terrible shape. your cleaning ladies need to clean under beds and furniture! It was filthy with dog hair white , not my dog who is black!! I ended up cleaning my room before I settled in for week along with other bedrooms!!

Overall the house was great and we were very pleased. 2 issues -- one resolved and one not. We had to change out bed comforters in 3 beds as they appeared to have blood on them. This was resolved within a day. The issue that was not resolved was rat infestation on the lower level. This was unfortunately not resolved during our stay.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Doggone Perfect! In addition to my husband and I, two adult sons and their girlfriends, we were joined by three of our large dogs. We actually found the unusual glayout of the home and multiple stairs to be fun. The location on the sound and off of the golf course couldn’t have been better. We enjoyed many sunsets and played golf as much as possible. The home was beautifully decorated and the beds were comfortable. We spent many hours in the pool and much preferred it to the ocean even though the pool waterfalls were not working. Our only complaint was the housekeeping. There was a lot of hair and some garbage under furniture. The appliances and kitchen drawers were dirty/sticky. The garbage in the pool area was not emptied and smelled terrible. The prior occupants did not pick up after their dog(s) so there were many piles to pick up on the grass in the backyard. One tub drains was full of hair and had to be unclogged. In short, the housekeeping was a disappointment but the house itself and the location were awesome.

We actually found the unusual glayout of the home and multiple stairs to be fun. The location on the sound and off of the golf course couldn’t have been better. We enjoyed many sunsets and played golf as much as possible. The home was beautifully decorated and the beds were comfortable. We spent many hours in the pool and much preferred it to the ocean even though the pool waterfalls were not working. Our only complaint was the housekeeping. There was a lot of hair and some garbage under furniture. The appliances and kitchen drawers were dirty/sticky. The garbage in the pool area was not emptied and smelled terrible. The prior occupants did not pick up after their dog(s) so there were many piles to pick up on the grass in the backyard. One tub drains was full of hair and had to be unclogged. In short, the housekeeping was a disappointment but the house itself and the location were awesome.

The outside of this home is absolutely beautiful with full amenities (pool, hot tub, gazebo, location, golfing.) However, the inside needs repairs and appliance updates. The stove needs to be replaced immediately. The grill poolside wasn't working. With a few key renovations inside, this home would be "Perfect"!

The outside area was very nice. The pool, jacuzzi,gazebo and fire pit were great. Lighting outside was hit or miss. sometimes the motion light went on, other times not. This is not child or elderly friendly. Grounds were beautifully kept and view was awesome. The house needs some help. Opened front door, storm window in door not secure and was blowing in. Pulling up in driveway to see broken aluminum blinds was not very attractive. Most of the blinds were so hard to lift or lower. Garbage disposal non functioning and causing drain to back up. I actually pulled a whole boiled egg out of it. Maintenance man fixed promptly and took out disposal. Master bedroom AC did not even cool that area. Shower in MB was so small we had to use other bathroom. We were without power in MB over 24 hours. Again very nice maintenance man found problem. (Golf balls had hit outdoor motion lights causing them to short when it rained). The kitchen is extremely small so I would not recommend for multi family use. There house is very busy with a nostalgic decor. Not good if you have kids. Location was perfect, short ride to beach and stores. House was dog friendly and that was one of the reasons to rent this home.

Upon arrival and walking up to the front door, you have to walk through a jungle of overgrown plants. It took most of the first day for the AC to cool the house. WE FOUND LIVE BUGS IN TWO OF THE BEDS!!! The third bed has a tray that slides up and down over the bed to serve as a tray, but can't be removed from the bed which leaves no foot room. Upstairs there were several dead bugs and animal hair all over the family room. We called the rental service and the property manager, maintenance manager and housekeeping manager came over. They ended up spraying the house with insect killer, giving us a fan to use, and sheets so my son and I could sleep on the sofa upstairs. WE WERE NOT SLEEPING IN BEDS WITH BUGS! We were told there are always bugs on the sound side. In seven years going to the sound side, we have never had bugs like this. In addition, the pool clearly had not been vacuumed prior to our arrival. On the positive side, it was a beautiful location and very convenient to a lot of different things. The back yard landscaping was pretty, and the fenced in yard was nice to have for dogs. Unfortunately, we were very unhappy with the condition of the house though.

A gem located in a golf course community. Beautifully landscaped. Not handicapped friendly and lots of stairs. Beautiful view from the back deck and the pool area was extraordinary. Hope I am able to stay there again.

This was the worst experience I have ever had. Midway through the week this house caught on fire when we were sleeping. Luckily enough my one daughter went outside to get something and saw the start of the fire and woke us all up so we all got our safe
