Staff were very friendly and helping. The guest house gave the feeling of real french house. Excellent location as it is just in next lane of beach.

The stay was close to the beach and most of the popular locations in White town. It had a vintage vibe and the stay was comfortable.

Breakfast is included though it only had continental option. Would be nice to have more options in the breakfast menu which would be good value for money.

The guest house is located in prominent location ,Closer to all major attractions of Pondy and a minute walk to the beach ! Clean and well maintained Toilets .

Beds are just manageable ,sheets needs to be cleaner . Please provide at least 1 or 2 items more in addition to Bread jam and omelette . Wifi Quality inside the room is very poor (almost Nil), and also no network inside the room.

Dumas Guest House is located at the south eastern end of the White Town. Most of the key attractions of White Town are within walking distance. However we had Senior Citizens parents with us who found it difficult to walk all the way up to the Rock Beach and Aurobindo Ashram area. In case long walks are a concern, it is better to choose an accommodation closer to the center of White Town. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The manager (Mr Bala) volunteered to look after our Sr Citizen parents while we went out for a day outing. Our request for early check-in was accepted without any extra charge. This is not a hotel and do not have a full time kitchen. But they still allowed us use the microwave oven in the kitchen to heat up food for the parents and allowed us to use the cutlery and dishware.

1) Expensive - The cost was pretty high - I paid 55K for 3 nights for 2 rooms 5 guests. This was due to high demand during out visit (long weekend + beach festival). Ideally 5K per room is more accurate pricing for what you get. 2) No parking on premise - Mr Bala did inform us in advance about this and provided detailed map of the nearby (300-400 meters) paid public parking lot. Most premises in the White Town area do not have on premise parking (with very few some exceptions). However due to long weekend and beach festival the demand was high and we could not negotiate the daily rate (parking charges). We had to pay Rs 150 per 24 hours. Please do note the public parking lot is open air and exposed to the hot sun. 3) Not very comfortable bed - The beds in room number 8 were noisy. The bed in room number 6 did not have a full mattress. The mattress was about 8 inches shorter and the gap was filled up with a long bolster / pillow. This is not a good option specially if you are a tall person and is sensitive to uneven mattress / bed. 4) Breakfast timing - Although the mentioned breakfast time was from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, they actually served the breakfast only from 9:00 am. The below points were not under full control of the GH/hotel staff and they did help sort out the issues as much as possible - 1) Water pump/motor failure - The faucets went dry one night just before bed time. Once I informed the staff, they quickly came in to find out the problem. It was identified to be and issue with the water pump. Since it was late in the night, there was no mechanic available to fix it. But the staff and owner had and alternative plan ready and could arrange running water in the faucets within 30 minutes. The main issue was sorted out the next day. 2) Overflowing drain on Dumas Street - This is something the GH/hotel has no control over, however we found the drains on the southern end of Dumas Street overflowing when we arrived.

The location was perfect, lovely room, spacious and well decorated, really clean, and we loved the patio outside our room! the staff was always available for any request! The breakfast was also delicious and the breakfast place is beautiful! I booked this property because I liked the pictures however it looks way better in real life!! I was astonished 😍 will definitely book again next time! The manager (Rajesh) was really helpful, and thanks to all the staff!!

location was great, next to the beach and promenade. Breakfast was good, spread was limited but you could ask for some items. All the good cafe's and restaurants were in walking distance. It had the good old style house of the region feel.

No parking facility, have to figure on our own a paid parking place. This might be due to the Christmas- new year arrangement by the police.

The property location is perfect! All the tourist hotspots are at a walking distance. The staff is incredibly helpful. I had a lock issue on my suitcase and the front desk personally took the time to go to the nearest American Tourister to get the lock fixed.

The breakfast isn’t that great. Its good food but it’s the same on all days! we were there for 4 nights and they had the same omelette for every single breakfast. Given the room charges a better breakfast needs to be served.

There was power cut at night for several hours and there was no generator. The room and facilities are not worth the money. They are looting money.

Clean and comfortable beds, not very fancy but functional. Located Just behind the promenade.

Breakfast is pretty basic. Also the street got flooded after an evening shower and we could not step out in evening. Your luck may vary depending on the weather.

Comfiest bed. Had a good night sleep during my stay. Staff was good.

Bathroom had a peculiar smell. Faucets and shower weren't working that good. There was low water pressure.
