I never leave reviews but have to for this one because it was amazing for our family. We loved the proximity to the Ocean. It was a short walk from cottage to beach. The cottage is cute and had everything we need. One bathroom was a little small but that was fine for the kids. The property manager was prompt in getting back to us. All the toys and umbrellas made it so so easy to just walk in and relax:) You won’t regret staying here!!!!

Perfect Vacation Rental! My family really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is cute as a button and we make use of the fireplace for a cozy holiday evening. The TV and internet was Verizon Fios so we were fully entertained. The rental had everything we needed from beach chairs to kitchen utensils. We wanted for nothing and did not have to bring anything. The beds were comfortable and clean. The front yard patio was nice for sitting and the gas grill was definitely used. What a perfect getaway for a few days. We will be back!

The cottage is in an excellent location only a block from the beach. The neighborhood is quiet & safe. However, we are unable to recommend this rental to others. Upon entering, there is a very strong musty odor. An air filter is on the fireplace hearth, but it does nothing to remove the smell. On the nightstand in the bedroom there was a roach trap. I raised the window blinds in the bedroom & there were two roach traps. After seeing that, we never brought any food into the unit the entire time we stayed there. Many stains on the carpet, an attachment on the bathroom faucet makes it difficult to use the sink, peeling ceiling paint & quite a few other things that should be addressed, but by far the worst is the smell. As a result, we spent very little time in the rental. Also, we were sent an e-mail informing us that the next day city inspectors would be let into the unit. The email went to junk mail & we learned about it after the fact. We had valuables out that I definitely would have put away had I known people would be inside the unit. I wish we had been informed of that at the time we rented. The front courtyard is very nice, but can only be used in the summer months.

Very nice cottage by the beach and a historic lighthouse, away but still close to the VA Beach boardwalk. The square plan makes for a very cozy interior. We didn't even use the attic floor (as a family of three). Good amenities: outdoor shower, grill, beach items, etc. Great stay overall!

This was the perfect little house for our VA Beach getaway to visit my son prior to deployment. Excellent location on a quietstreet. The beds were sooo comfortable! The house had everything we needed in a wonderful location. The front patio and garden were lovely with good seating. The walk to the beach was a great stroll under the canopy of trees. The beach itself was beautiful. We will definitely stay again next time we visit! Thank you!

Well appointed house. What the bathrooms lacked was made up in conveniences like total laundry facility, outdoor shower, every imaginable kitchen gadget, wonderful patio which could park two cars since the other unit used up the 3 parking spaces.

We absolutely loved this property inside and out! The location was perfect and the walkway to the beach was one of our favorite things. The inside decor was perfect and it was much more spacious than we expected. We felt relaxed and at home very quickly. Having the beach accessories, laundry area, outside shower and BBQ area was fantastic. We will definitely return next year!

We loved the short walk to the beach. My oldest loved the “forest feel” during the walk. Jeanie was very responsive. Our only issue was all the base traffic and it was a bit of a drive to everything.

We really enjoyed our stay in this two bedroom unit in the northern end of Virginia Beach. Being just north of all of the touristy boardwalk area was perfect - we basically had the beach to ourselves! And saw so many dolphins every day! A local said there are always a lot of dolphins there. Great stay!

Beautiful property. Just as drs and pictured. Walking distance to beach and close to amenities. I hope to return someday!

Short walk down street to beach. Nice front patio. Well stocked property with lots of thought put in my owners. Everything you need to cook, relax, and visit the beach! Communication from owners is excellent. Nice quiet neighborhood off the main strip but close enough to do everything. We hit the boardwalk and the state park in addition to the beach down the street. Loved it.

If you are looking for a quiet neighborhood that is close to the beach and away from all of the hustle and bustle - this is the place. It was clean and perfect for our family. Love this location because it is minutes from the boardwalk but quiet enough for an enjoyable afternoon/evening on the outside patio. The owners were easy to communicate with as well.

We typically go to Sandbridge, have stayed there for 20+ years. Not anymore! Very pleased with this quiet, well-maintained location. Bathrooms are tight, but we managed. And we appreciate having a kitchen with ample cooking supplies. Looking forward to returning!!!

Me and my family were very impressed with this cottage. The owners and the neighbors are welcoming. The beachfront is a less than 5 minute walk and it’s quiet. Perfect for your family and pets to enjoy a personal moment at the beach. The cottage has everything you need for the beach experience. It has adequate dishes for you to prepare a meal for your family. We are looking forward to staying again when we visit family over the summer.

We had a wonderful race weekend in Va beach and the cottage was perfect for post race recovery time and relaxation. All the amenities you need and a short walk to the beach. We love the North end af Va beach. Weather was a little chilly, so we didn't get to utilize the sweet patio. Hopefully next time. Thanks, Jeanie

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving stay in this cute cottage in the North End which included hiking in the state park, relaxing on the extra large deck, and watching dolphins at the beach.

Great location was easy beach access and centrally located between boardwalk/vibe district and Chic’s Beach/Chesapeake Bay. All amenities listed were available.

This is our second visit to Cozy Ocean Side Cottage. It is just what we needed for a quick getaway and to recharge our batteries. Its like our second home. The cottage is spotlessly clean and well decorated as always. The beds are comfortable. We love the improvement of the brick patio , picnic table and Adirondack chairs. We made good use of the propane grill. And of the course, the short walk and beach itself can’t be beat. Can't wait to return!

Our first time to Virginia Beach and we could not be more pleased with the location or the cottage. We did not have to bring anything as all kitchen utensils, house linens, beach accessories and towels are provided. The cottage was sparkling clean and well decorated. We will surely return next year!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner was very responsive from before we arrived to date of departure. We did not have to bring anything because the house is well stocked, and everything is provided from surf boards to beach towels. We loved the short walk to the beach and the neighborhood setting. The property is located right next to Fort Story, there was occasional morning traffic but in the evening it dies down to nothing. Local restaurants are not far away with easy access to the Boardwalk of Virginia Beach to Chic’s Beach on the other side of Fort Story. And for the evenings we wanted to just stay home and relax there is a wonderful patio set up with gas grill. We have visited Virginia Beach before but this was the first time in the North Beach area. We love the quaint ness, the quiet and especially the canopy of live oaks on the path to the beach. We loved being so close to First Landing State Park and taking advantage of their hiking trails. The trip to the Lighthouse was also a crowd pleaser. We did not make it out to Bush Gardens but that will wait for our next trip. The cottage was well decorated and very clean. The beds very comfortable. The full bathroom could be a little larger as the toilet area is a bit tight for a full sized adult but the half bathroom off the master bedroom was fine. We also would have liked a dishwasher for not a big deal. The property has plenty of parking and access to the front door is a short which is nice when you are carrying in bags of groceries. Thank you for sharing your cottage and we look forward to returning next year.

First you can't beat location anywhere in this neighborhood but unfortunately location can't make up for cleanliness issues and tiny bathrooms. Don't even consider this place if you are larger or disabled. I am 6' and could not fit in the area of the main toilet. The shower was gross with one of those nasty mats covering the tub. And I personally never agree with rug near the beach as it always smells damp. But cleanliness was the major issue. We immediately killed several flies when we arrived and over the course of the next 7 days killed over 20. Trash was not right outside the door and we didn't leave the door open so it is unclear why this was an issue. The air conditioners both had mold growing on the blower area which led to a mildew smell that meant washing every item of clothing we brought when we got home because they still smelled. On night 6 we found a dead cockroach in upstairs area. Instead of apologizing and explaining what/how it was/would be remedied the owner at first denied it was a cockroach, then after we sent a picture said, " the treatments are working." Again no apology or actual explanation. We've stayed in that neighborhood before and not had an issue so my only conclusion is the house is not appropriately taken care of by owner. We didn't stay the last night and the owner didn't seem to care that we were that uncomfortable. I suggest you keep looking rather than take a chance on this place with an owner who is indifferent.

This property was very comfortable with a perfect location. We loved the quick walk to the beach and being close enough to drive to restaurants and shopping.

Our family could not have asked for a better location! The beach was not crowded. We swam with the dolphins! Perfect quiet spot!
