It feels like you are staying at your best friend's place. You know where everything is so you make yourself at home.
There was some sort of quinceañera party a few houses down the road. Nothing too crazy just a bit of cumbia late at night

Such a great hostal. Family run, friendly, welcoming. Can't fault it.

It's more than a hostel. it's a home stay. you feel like a family with the couple running the hostel. they will help you with everything, tours, information, tickets, everything. Its nice and clean. close to everywhere. Hot shower, full functioning kitchen. Laundry is free if you have your detergent. it's generally an amazing place to stay
No Lockers in the room or some shelf to put your stuff. The shower was a bit playing some times.

The place is great. It's a hostel but in a home. Small, you chill with the family when they're around though they are out and about and give you space to feel comfortable. There's free tea and coffee which was amazing and you can use their washing machine which was super helpful. Great rooftop. Good showers. Amazing location right near the river.

Great location, friendly staff, good wi-fi.
It's very noisy, almost impossible to sleep there. No lockers, uncomfortable beds, no good social spaces.

The hostel was great, booked 1 night, but stayed 3. I loved the warm welcome by the owners, Maria and Fernando. It felt that we know each other already. Nice conversation around the table. I learned a lot of new things in Spanish. Come and stay here while visiting orizaba. Good location, close to town. I enjoyed my stay. Thank you.

Very nice place just off centre of Orizaba. Very clean, hot showers, towels and bed linen provided. Very good value for money.
It was a little confusing actually entering the property, not your conventional front door and no bell but apart from that it was fine.

The family was very friendly
Bed very basic

Clean and the family who owns the property is super nice
Not a social hostel at all, had the place to myself for 2 nights. it’s on the top floor of the family home and not exactly a “hostel” more of a guesthouse

The hosts are super adorable and welcoming. They chat with everyone like they were part of the family and spend time to get to know the travelers. The beds are comfortable. Nice view from the rooftop. There is a big Soriana (supermarket) at about 7min walk and a small mercado at 2min. I will go back there if I return to Orizaba one day!
The only (-) thing is that there was only one plug in my dorm and it was at the other side of the room so I couldn’t charge my phone during the night as I was using my alarm to wake up.

This was a life changing experience for me. I booked for 1 night. But stayed eventually for 8 days. This is a Hostel. And the letter H stands for Home. As soon as you walk in and you meet Mary and Fernando, you will be surrounded by a heartwarming energy. They are the most pure and wonderful people i have met. The rooms are perfect and clean, the bathroom is very comfortable. If you need anything, you just have to ask and they will provide you with it right away. This is the best plays i ever stayed in my life. Experience it yourself. Base camp Mexico is the place to be if you want to feel at peace, loved, and safe. I can not thank Mary and Fernando enough. We will meet again. DANKJEWEL.
I did not like the fact that i had to leave.

Amazing hostel. It's like to stay in mexican family...they accepted me like part of their family. People were very friendly. Everythig was clean and comfortable. I recommand this hostel to everyone.
They did not have any sign on the door. It was a little bit more hard to find it.

super location, Fernando is the best landlord - helpful, talkative and treats you like friend, not a client. Super clean facility and very relaxed atmosphere, very friendly and all you need is there (kitchen equipmen, coffee machine, towels, clean water)
there could be more sockets :D

The location was not too bad. The hostel was in walking distance to the important attractions, downtown, and restaurants/convenience stores.
They lock the gate at 10:00 pm and go to sleep. There was no mention of this to begin with. I learned it in an unpleasant way. Firstly, this is not a built-for-a-hostel place. It is a small two-story house with a family living in. There are a few small rooms upstairs that the family runs as a “hostel.” Due to Covid-19 pandemic, there was no other traveler than myself. At 9:45 on a Saturday night, I decided to get some snacks. I returned at around 10:15, and the gate was locked. Rang the bell, banged on the door until the neighbors started looking out of their windows, but nobody unlocked the door. Tried two more times in the following two hours, threw some pebbles at one of the bedroom window, but to no vail. Frustrated, I concluded that they must be hibernating and had to find a hotel to spend the night. It was an expensive one because no other hotels accepted credit cards. I am just glad I had my credit card and ID with me. The other day, I go at 10:30 am, still locked. Finally around 11:00, I saw they came out of their hibernation. I told them the situation and asked them not to lock the gate until they were sure I was in. The response was that they have to lock the gate at 10:00 and they were sorry. Well, who comes to Orizaba to be locked on a Saturday at 10:00 pm?!! What if there is an emergency, and I need to get out. Why am I not provided with a key if they have to lock the gate? If I had known that there was a curfew, I would not have booked this place. What is the point of going for a vacation but not be able to go in an out freely?? One may very well want a drink or something on a freaking Saturday night! I had trusted the ratings of this place but can’t understand how it gets a good rating. It was more like Auschwitz camp, rather than Base Camp (what’s the deal? are we suddenly on Mt Everest?!). The rooms were too small. Can’t imagine how it would be at full capacity. The family was loud. The boiler outlet opened directly to the bathroom. Language barrier

Its more like visiting friends than staying in a Hostel.
