Second time we have stayed here and loved it just as much. The property is perfect and the photos do not do the pool justice. Brilliant being able to jump in the pool after a day at the beach. Excellent communication with owner when needed.

We were 5 adults in the house in Villefranche. The house was perfect for us. Kitchen was Well equipped. Very nice bathroom upstairs and another bathroom downstairs. Extra toilet on the groundfloor. Great bedrooms. Nice and cool in the house. Cosy terrasse and poolarea. Seaview. We loved the house and grounds and highly recommend a stay there. You should be aware, though, that the house is situated in a street with some traffic during the day.

Overall, the stay was great and we had a lovely week at the villa. The location is perfect, just slightly set back from the sea, but only a 10 minute walk from the town. Great stay and would definitely return.

Great property and convenient location. Car not required as can walk to shops, bars, restaurants and railway station. Steep walk back to property so you get fit as well. Pool is amazing and needed for a cool down even in May. House has everything you need, very comfortable and spacious. Awesome shower. BBQ great. Julie very friendly and helpful and on hand when you need help/advice. Definitely would stay here again. Thank you

Villa was excellent. Spacious and well equipped. Good location. Only got one day to use pool as told at very short notice it would be out of action for most of our stay. Communication with Ken good otherwise. Julie who checked us in very friendly and helpful.

I went with my children in their twenties. It was a haven with its own pool. Every morning I popped out for croissants and baguette before the rest were up and ready for a morning swim in the pool, before a walk to the beach or a visit along the coast. Two women welcomed us (we were a very late arrival) and cheerfully showed us everything. Kitchen brilliantly equipped. Most of all the house is beautiful and elegant.

The villa is just charming, clean, very well equipped & maintained. It’s a convenient 10-15 minutes walk from the lovely old town with its shops, restaurants & bars (note it’s a steep uphill walk on the way back if you suffer with any mobility issues or have very small children) - but a lovely, friendly & safe town which we loved. At the far end is the station, which connects you to a multitude of great destinations along the French Riviera - we used it a lot. There’s a really comprehensive SuperU super market at Beaulieu right next to the station if you need supplies (there’s a small supermarket in Villefranch which has most things but obviously not the variety). The young lady who checks you in & out at the villa is friendly, helpful & speaks English well. The Vrbo site doesn’t mention, when booking, that there is a substantial cleaning charge payable at check out (or you can clean it yourself). So just be aware that it’s not like UK sites where the cleaning charge is clearly listed or included in the price which, in my opinion is a mistake as you do feel it’s been sprung on you a bit when it gets mentioned in the confirmation email. Here you are also asked to sign a contract - which has no unpleasant or inappropriate clauses, but it’s in French & I had to request an English version just to check it through. When I was looking to book the villa, I noticed in other reviews that there were comments about the traffic, so I used Google maps to check the area out before I booked. It looks very residential - so I wasn’t too worried. It’s on a side street but it is busier than it looks as it gets used as a cut through to the main road to Nice. It is, after all, a central location in a town, but it’s noisier than I thought it would be - just be aware if you are bothered by traffic noise. For us the great location outweighed the mopeds!! My only other comment would be that the (spotless) pool wasn’t particularly warm - fine for my teenagers - very refreshing but we tended to hop in and out rather than languish, which was a shame. If you have little ones and are relying on the pool for hours of entertainment it might be worth discussing the heating with the owner. We have a holiday let business with a pool & run it a good few degrees warmer than this one so that people can stay in at length! These are all constructive comments not negatives. We really enjoyed our stay here - & would definitely come again. This is a lovely villa in a great location..

All aspects of our stay here were fantastic. As many previous reviews describe, the location is probably the biggest selling point - minutes away from Villefranche but also a short journey to Nice or further afield on the TER rail network. The setup was great compared to previous villa’s we have stayed at in Nice, with everything you need for a fantastic stay present. Communication was great at all times, and we we’re welcomed with some wine and basics. The bedrooms were all a decent size, and particularly good for families. The main bathroom was modern. The outside space was ample and although there is an apartment block behind, we never felt overlooked. We didn’t really use the dining room or lounge although the children did use the TV which had some streaming services available. The only slight con would be the road - it did get a little noisy sometimes, but that was expected when booking and it never detracted from our stay at any point. I would highly recommend this villa, and have already done so with my family and friends. I hope to return soon!

La maison est bien équipée, très bien climatisée et d’une extrême propreté (merci Julie). La piscine fut très appréciée après des journées à visiter la Côte d’azur sous un soleil de plomb. La place de parking dans les rues en serpentins est également un must. Le seul petit bémol : certains lits (celui dans la chambre ne donnant pas sur la piscine et l’un des lits de la chambre des enfants) ne sont pas très confortables. Ceci dit, nous avons bien apprécié notre séjour!

For us, the Villa was in a great location and provided a designated parking space at the rear, important following a long drive. We didn’t need to use the car during our stay as so many facilities were within walking distance I.e shops, bus stop etc. It’s a max 10 minute walk to the Old Town. Great facility in a great place.

Vi har nydt vores efterårsferie i det dejligste feriehus. Skønt solrigt udeområde, fin pool, parkeringsplads, kort afstand til byen/havnen og den sødeste Julie til at tage imod os! Vi kommer helt sikkert igen!

La maison est ravissante, très confortable, très bien entretenue, elle a même dépassé nos espérances ! Julie et sa maman Laurence, qui nous ont remis les clés et qui sont chargées de l’entretien de la maison, sont au top, très avenantes, très gentilles, très souriantes et très efficaces et la maison, tant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur, est très bien équipée et entretenue, d’une propreté irréprochable. Nous avons passé une excellente semaine. Merci beaucoup pour la bouteille de vin et la bouteille d’eau à notre arrivée, nous avons apprécié cette attention. A recommander vivement.

Cette maison est très agréable, bien décorée et bien équipée. La piscine est un vrai plus. Assez proche du village, de la plage et des commerces essentiels. Nous avons passé un joli séjour. Un petit bémol pour le bruit généré par la route à proximité qui nous a parfois gêné.

Heel erg genoten van deze mooie locatie. Villa is schoon en mooi ingericht. Erg tevreden over de woning, nabijheid van winkels. Goede uitvalsbasis om omgeving te verkennen.

Good..... but traffic noise is getting worse since our last visit. Single bed mattresses uncomfortable. We believe this was also reported last year by other guests.

Beautiful and charming house located in an idyllic part of the south of France. Very impressed with the property, our 3 teenage children loved the pool and the close proximity to the Old Town, beach and harbour. Property was also well equipped, great gas fired BBQ. Air-conditioning was a life saver. Very conveniently located by local supermarket and bakery. Also near local public transport of trains and buses and its only a short ride to Nice and Monaco. Only negative comment is that the photos on the website do not do the beautiful Villa justice, but it's nice surprise when you get there !!

The property is well situated as it is only a few minutes walk to local shops (Casino mini-market, bakers and general store) and the beach. Whilst it is on a hairpin bend, halfway up a hill that is not uncommon - there is some traffic noise related to the location but it is very little. The villa itself has all the basic facilities that are needed and our daughters (aged eleven and five) loved the pool. We had one minor issue whilst staying there and that was resolved within an hour - the support from the property owner (and Patrick the 'caretaker') was excellent. There are good transport links by train and bus (although we never used the latter) meaning that Nice and Monaco are easily reachable; there is also excellent walking up the mountain sides (with great views over the harbours). Positives: - Great service and support from the owner and those who look after the property - Fantastic hill run routes (if you like that) - Good access to local shops, beach and transport - Very relaxing location Negatives - Very expensive to eat at the restaurants - Very expensive to buy stuff from the local shops Overall, the villa is excellent and represented great value - it might be an expensive area, but you are on the French Riviera - what do you expect!

Wir haben eine Woche in der sehr schönen Villa Villefranche-sur-Mer verbracht. Haus und Pool waren perfekt, der Weg zur Bäckerei und in den Ort sehr kurz. Auch die direkte Busverbindung nach Nizza wurde genutzt. Ein Ohr zudrücken musste man nur, wenn Autos und Motorräder in der Schleife uns Haus knatterten.

Although the villa undoubtedly has some charm, is well equipped and has a decent, if rather overlooked, pool, it needs updating particularly in the kitchen and the basement bathroom which we didn’t use because of the musty smell. The property is effectively on a hairpin bend and therefore has a road to the front and rear which made it noisy, day and night. In addition, although the external perimeter is secure, because the windows are single glazed and the patio doors effectively don’t lock, we felt that we had to close the shutters on both doors and windows and block them with metal rods provided, whenever we went out for the day and at night. As this was a tedious task involving moving furniture, we left them barred most of the time. The patio area was overrun with ants (crawling and flying) which also made their way onto the sunbeds - it took two cans of ant spray to make the patio usable. Although not mentioned when booking and handing over the non-refundable deposit, there is a significant cleaning charge or, if you don’t want to pay, then you are offered the option of spending 3 hours before checking out (between 08:00 and 10:00) cleaning the apartment before you leave! We felt that this charge should have been made clear upfront before paying the deposit and not in a separate contract (in French), which turned up weeks later. Having signed it, this apparently releases HomeAway from any obligation to argue the point on your behalf! Finally, there are two pages of “house rules” and three densely typed pages of inventory (in French), which is your responsibility to check on arrival and which suggest that the owner has little or no trust in his guests to make good any breakages. When added to the “hidden charges”, the effect was to make us feel like unwelcome guests and the whole experience left a bitter taste which could have been prevented by the owner managing the process in a more open and trusting way.
