The pool, the courtyard, the beds

Ceiling was very low in our room in the new wing (behind the pool), musical lock on our room in the older wing made a lot of noise!

I liked the breakfast in the garden close to the swimming pool. The hotel is in a comfortable position, walking distance to the city center. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are quiet, and the hotel is quiet. The swimming pool is open 24/7 and due to the heat wave we experienced during our stay, it was great to find the swimming pool available after dinner!

we slept on the sofa bed to leave the bedroom for our daughters and I must say it was not comfortable, we reported it to the staff. Things that happen.

The location of the hotel is in a quiet area, a 10-15 min walk to the city centre. The room was nice, spacious and very clean. We didn’t eat in the hotel but used a great restaurant along the road which was excellent called Zephirine, it’s a deli with a lovely restaurant at the back, food and service is excellent. Pool was nice but could do with more sunbeds as 8 beds is not enough when guests come back in the afternoon. The staff in the spa were lovely and the massage was excellent.

In our view, we felt the breakfast was very poor from a 5 star hotel. 3 very small bowls of fruit was on offer either watermelon, pineapple or chopped apple which would have fed 4 people and they ran out each day we were there. We asked for fruit yoghurt and was told they have none left! We were given a choc on our bed on 1 night out of 5 (they ran out of them after first night). The roof top bar was not manned by a staff member and guests had to go looking for someone to serve a drink/food. The bar area itself and tables were not cleared regularly therefore messy. Maybe the hotel needs more staff? Little things but they all add up to us not rating this establishment 5 star. One word of advice - a few of the staff were very nice but some of the staff members could maybe smile a little and the hotel would feel a bit more welcoming!

The property was stunning and such a good value. It was a true dream. Everything was perfect from our clean and spacious room, to the relaxing pool and the food was phenomenal (we enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning which had the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had, snacks and drinks by the pool each day and treated ourself to the Michelin star restaurant one night which was outstanding).

The hotel has superb customer service.

The rooms were beautifully appointed. Just be aware that the shower isn’t separated from the bedroom area, so it’s unsuitable if you’re needing privacy.

Unfortunately the restaurant serves only a degustation at dinner which didn’t suit our needs. The concierge booked us a nearby restaurant for dinner, Le Noailles. It was dreadful, filled with tourists and the meal was so inedible that I went without any dinner at all.

Loved the room, it was comfortable and had everything we needed, staff were friendly, polite and efficient, We had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was excellent. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the area and a beautiful public park. We visited some wonderful museums and had went on a great wine tour.

We did not have breakfast in the hotel as we don't usually eat breakfast and at 28 euro per person we thought it would not have been worth it for us. The pool was smaller than expected with not much room for sun loungers so it got crowded very quickly and if a few children were in the pool it was not possible to swim so we didn't really use the pool which had been one of the reasons we booked it, but is did not spoil our stay

The property was beautiful and really well located in a quite part of town but within a short walk of the centre. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, with lots of recommendations. Maria in particular spent time arranging a wonderful evening wine tour to St Emillion which was a very special end to the trip.

Lovely property, with a small beautiful pool. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Location is quite good, a short , pleasant walk from the town center. The breakfast was quite good. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious.

The reception staff were exceptional. They contacted me regularly before the trip to help with transfers, reservations at restaurants, trips, arrival times etc and when we were in Bordeaux they were extremely helpful with planning excursions and last minute bookings.

Staff were friendly and attentive. There were free welcome drinks in the room and the valet parking was seamless. Very good shower.

The spa. This was not 5 star in the slightest. The pool was actually an oversized jacuzzi. There wasn't any design or aesthetic about the place, but maybe a good thing as there wasn't anywhere to lie down and relax either. This was so below my expectations AND the only 5 star hotel I've stayed in to charge for the facilities!! The treatment I had was good but the room was very basic, small and just by the jacuzzi pool so there was noise just on the other side. This might be a 5 star hotel but it is not a 5 star spa or even close. There was a drains smell in reception that went all the way upstairs. The haute cuisine dinner was very disappointing, and I did ask for my fish to be more cooked only to be told the chef wasn't there, it was fully booked on a Saturday night. Where was the chef? Maybe all the food had been prepared beforehand? The quality wasn't there at all and not worth the money.

The personnel was very helpful and friendly. the rooms were spacious and very comfortable.

the best thing about this hotel are the INCREDIBLE staff. all of them were consistently helpful, kind and welcoming. the property is lovely but the staff are truly great.

The staff are exceptional and were Amazing with children, room set up also great with kids!

Beautiful design in a very peaceful location but not far from all the central sights of Bordeaux. High spec rooms with lovely personal touches. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
