Historic Charleston Waterfront Hut Homestead Close to Downtown & Kiawah/Folly
Meine Eltern haben so hart gearbeitet, um dieses Anwesen zu kaufen und ihr "Traumhaus" zu bauen. Worte, die ich höre, um einen Besuch bei The Hut zu beschreiben, sind: erholsam und entspannend. Diese Eigenschaft ist eine 62-Morgen-historische Plantage, die eine tatsächliche arbeitende Plantage zu einer Zeit war.
Es ist mit südlichem Charme und dreißig, 400 Jahre alten Eichen bewachsen. Nur 1,6 km vom Charleston Executive Airport entfernt. Das Haus mit vier Schlafzimmern mit fünf Badezimmern liegt an einem tiefen Wasserbach und neu gebauten Schwimmdock nur 20 Minuten Fahrt nach Downtown Charleston und Kiawah und Seabrook Islands. Viele lieben die Lowcountry Gullah Küche von lokalen Köchen, wenn Sie Shrimps, Grits und Charleston mögen Roter Reis. YUM!

The property was peaceful and beautiful with all the old trees along with the wildlife in the background. Enjoyed being able to kayak in the creek which was fun during high tide. Communication was great with Jane.

This property was the perfect setting for family who have not seen each other for over 4 years. We originally had another reservation that was canceled and I quickly started my search and found the Hut. There are no fancy amenities, but everything worked and had exactly what we needed. We all spent our entire time on the back porch with the amazing breeze that came of the creek. The TV in the den never came on because we were always outside. They have a fire pit, Kayaks, grill, fishing poles anything you need for the outdoors, even a hammock in the yard under the giant oaks. I live in West Ashley and would definitely consider booking this home for a staycation. They are quick to respond to every question you may have.

Wonderful house- beautiful yard and surroundings!
My family enjoyed the week at Johns Island.
They fished at the creek behind the house and saw alligators and a dolphin.
There were birds that came every day to the fields.

The property was perfect, we held our daughter’s wedding ceremony under the gorgeous trees and it was absolutely beautiful! Every guest commented how breathtaking the property was. It was so peaceful, we saw turkey, deer, turtles, an alligator, and some many birds. The host was quick to respond to any questions we had.

The grounds at this place are unmatched. With the beautiful oak trees, green bushes, on site pond, vibrant wildlife (deer, turkeys, etc) and neighboring horse farm all right on the marsh near the visible Stono River, you can’t beat a better nature get away. It was the perfect backdrop for our wedding nuptials. Even the quaint, rustic house gives you a relaxed feel to escape from the hustle of the world for a bit. We really enjoyed it. Thank you

We completely enjoyed our stay.
This is a magnificent property covered with Live Oaks and azaleas. Frontage on Hut Creek makes for easy access to the water for kayaking and fishing. There is plenty of room to run for any dogs that you might bring.
The house is very comfortable and well appointed with a great east-facing porch for catching the sunrise.
The location of this property is out of the frenetic pace of Folly Beach and Charleston, but literally 20 minutes or less to virtually anything that you would want to do in the Charleston area.

We stayed 3 nights for a wedding that was 2.5 miles away. The location was perfect. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us. The owners suggested some restaurants that we tried and enjoyed. It was an easy drive to Charleston for the day after the wedding. The property is so beautiful with old oak trees. It is so peaceful. The home is older with decor from years ago but very clean and comfortable. My parents enjoyed looking at all the older items in the home. The owners were very nice when we thought my adult son was going to need to bring his diabetic older pup which meant so much. Thankfully he was able to leave her with family but at least we knew bringing her was an option. The owners always responded quickly. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks again!

Jane was very helpful and attentive. I would definitely stay again. We had a very nice time and were able to explore both the Johns Island area and beaches as well as historic Charleston (our first time in the area). All-in-all, we had a wonderful time.

We had my daughter's wedding here and it was so magical! Even though we had rain, it was still so amazing! Staying at the Hut is like staying at your grandparents house! I loved it and the property is an artist's dream. Jane is so friendly and giving! I look forward to reading more of her books!

I do not have enough words to express my thankfulness to Jane and her husband and the joy from our stay at this property. We asked to have our wedding here when we booked the property and Jane let us visit a few times leading up to the weekend to make sure everything was perfect! Jane was an incredible host-- so responsive, kind, and truly just a treasure to connect with! Prior to the weekend of our stay, a hurricane blew through and Jane and her husband were SO helpful in communicating with us and they themselves helped the yard team to clean up all the debris (it literally looked like nothing had ever happened). The pictures of this property do not do it justice-- it is the most magical display of the low-country. Not only is it beautiful, it is so quiet and peaceful and became the most dreamy setting for our wedding weekend. We wished we could have stayed forever!!! Thankful is an understatement.

justice! Jane was awesome from the very beginning and even let us stay an extra night at no charge. The hut was just as described and way better than expected. Very clean. The one The pictures do not do this place justice! The views are unbeaten and the entire property is beautiful. I would and probably will book this place in the future!

The Hut was everything we could’ve hoped for and more! It was a beautiful setting for a celebration, the weather was perfect and Jane was so easy to deal with. Very relaxing and beautiful setting. Plenty of room to spread out in the house or gather together and play games. Will definitely be looking at renting again for our next celebration!

Overall wonderful place. Few negatives no tv in bedroom. Dining room table you can't eat on because it's on carpet. Sliding door to sun porch should be replaced not repaired. Suggest carpet be removed so entire house can be enjoyed. Would rent again.

Excellent Getaway!
The house is tucked back from the road on a gorgeous large property! Even seeing the pictures prior to booking, they didnt do the views justice with those beautiful large trees and creek area. Inside the house, it is very spacious and enough room for a large family crowd with tons of bathrooms! That was a real plus when having a large family group lol. The kitchen and pantry were well stocked for those little items you forget to bring. We always do a lot of cooking with our gatherings so that is important to us. The beds were comfortable and there were tons of extra linens in almost every room if needed. We were a little nervous about alligators on the property having a small child and dog but they stayed in the pond towards the road. We would definitely stay here again, such a wonderful family vacation!

The house has plenty of room for a family, but it’s very dated. We knew it going in, the pictures are accurate and there were no surprises there. The owner was wonderful and helpful. My only request would be that there was less clutter. The kitchen cabinets were so full of just tons of stuff, the counters have too much random stuff. So nowhere to put your things, work space etc. hard to find kitchen things you needed because you had to dig through so much. No way to put away what you brought, because the cabinets are full. Same in bathrooms. Cabinets were stuffed full of things. So no way to put your things out of the way. If room was made for this, it would be so much better! All in all, good stay, did the job to have our outdoor event in a gorgeous setting.

Surrounded by mother nature
The location of this home is amazing! We enjoyed the beautiful surrounding views from sunrise to sunset. I could not get over how beautiful the trees were. Our dogs enjoyed playing and running freely in the yard chasing birds. We took the best family photos and we loved hanging out in the screened-in porch taking in the views.
