Owner was there to greet us and show us around the home. They were very accommodating and messaged us to check in on us. They provided us with a list of things to do and places to eat. Very nice stay. Thank you Tony and Steve for everything.

Super cool and huge townhouse with tons of old school architectural details. So much space to hang out together or have some time apart across three floors, this is a great apartment. Parking is directly across the street as is an awesome cafe. Hosts were very responsive. questions

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The owner greeted us at the house for check-in and texted a couple of times during our 11-day stay to make sure we didn't need anything. The house was beautiful and spacious, and the location is A+.

We were amazed by how spacious and modern this rental was in spite of its age. Each room is beautifully decorated, giving a feel of both elegance and comfort. We we’re pleased to have three bathrooms among the four of us and never felt in each other‘s way. The hosts were very kind and made clear they were available if we needed them. We would stay there again.

A top notch property close to restaurants and shops. My husband and I stayed here with another couple and we found most everything we needed to be within walking distance. We did rent a car but only because we wanted to see sites beyond St. John's. We couldn't have asked for better hosts. They were attentive to our questions and personally welcomed us upon our arrival. Highly recommend this property.

5 of us stayed in this incredibly unique house and enjoyed every bit of it! It was so comfortable, so much character, well stocked for anything you might want to cook, and the location couldn’t have been better. The owners were very attentive and gave good suggestions of things to do around town. We were lucky enough to have a wonderfully sunny day and took advantage of the roof top patio. It was a great holiday and we will certainly want to book this location again for the next trip!

Powells Exploring Newfoundland
We appreciated how well our host stocked our fridge for our arrival from the other side of Canada, and the fact that we were able to check in a little earlier than the posted time. As our luggage didn’t arrive with us, it was nice to drop it off after another trip to the airport so we could start exploring the area right away. The location was perfect for us to enjoy the many sights that St. John’s has to offer. We would definately return. Thank you Tony and Steve.

Excellent Accommodation
Place was great. We were in St. John's to visit family and were able to host all the family gatherings at this location. Especially happy with additional items offered to accommodate our 18 month old granddaughter - baby gates, car seat and booster seat.

From the moment we walked into the house, the authenticity of old Newfoundland was present.
The property was well situated to downtown St. Johns. We walked several times. There is a designated parking spot free of charge that was very handy. The home was very clean and had all the items we needed. Tony was very responsive any time I had an inquiry and was very accommodating for our late night arrival and late departure. Very much appreciated. It definitely made the difference after a long travel day. The home is very spacious. The main area was great to congregate but if you wanted some peace you could retreat to the other sitting rooms or your own bedroom. Several TV's for people with different desires. Late night viewing in the bedrooms. The beds were comfortable. The décor made it very quaint and homey. Would definitely recommend this property.

Fabulous place to stay
This house was the perfect spot for our gal's vacation. Plenty of room for all of us, close to downtown and groceries, beautiful views of Signal Hill. The place had everything we could need and when we asked for one household item it was delivered to us the next morning. Very thoughtful touch of leaving a bottle of wine, milk, orange juice, eggs and coffee in case we didn't have time to gather supplies after we arrived. Lots of movies in case you want to stay in and relax, and even the surprise of local fossils in a box with descriptions.
Thank you so much for a wonderful base to explore the magic that is Newfoundland!

Walking distance to downtown, lots of amenities, room to spread out.
Handy central location, good for two to three couples, many kitchen supplies, bedroom closest to street is a little noisy as the house is at an intersection. Would stay there again. Family appreciated the space to spread out and have some quiet time. Easy to walk to The Rooms and downtown. Tony called twice and was easy to get in touch with. Thank you Tony and Steve.

Lovely Oasis on a Hill near Park and Walking Distance to downtown
We absolutely loved our stay at this heritage home in a wonderful location in St John's. Given it was winter, we enjoyed fantastic views of The Narrows and Signal Hill, from the front windows on each of the three levels. We were able to see the glow of sunshine coming over the city each morning.
Cape Spear is only a 20 to 25 minute drive from this home and well worth watching the first sunrise in all of North America one morning.
Just steps behind the home is Bannerman Park which is a beautiful city park with an ice skating loop and gazebo. The scene looked like one out of a movie. We were able to see the winter lights from the park from our back windows.
The house is located just a few blocks away from the stately Basilica and The Rooms which are iconic landmarks overlooking St. John's. The Rooms is a magnificent museum with fantastic views and a delightful cafe.
The owner, Tony, was a pleasure to work with and communicated clearly. The house is extremely well-stocked with everything you need to feel comfortable including plenty of linens, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. The red carpet is plush and elegant we enjoyed the many beautiful features this home offers including sipping coffee on the window seat in the dining room.
We had such a fabulous time in St. John's and staying at this historic, well-appointed home enhanced our incredible Newfoundland experience. We can't wait to plan our next visit to The Rock!

Comfortable Home in a Convenient Location
This heritage home is located close to restaurants (several within walking distance) and places of interest such as The Rooms, Basilica, Signal Hill and Quidi Vidi. The home was very clean, and is spacious and comfortable on all 3 levels. The kitchen is well equiped with everything needed to prepare meals, and the rear 3rd level deck was great for relaxing with a glass of wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the 3 days we spent there.

Great location
Able to walk downtown St. John's, most places within 10 - 15 min. We had no car but had no need. Bannerman Park is steps from the front door......a beautiful green quiet park with a wonderful children's play ground and water park. Quiet streets to walk with blocks of grand heritage homes all around. Coffee Matters is a short walk past the park on Military Road and is a quiet coffee house with the best desserts and healthy wraps & sandwiches. The Dominion is a 10 minute walk for groceries.
A must is the Duke of Duckworth pub (also 10 min downhill) where we had the best fish & chips ever!! Great local beer too.
The Rooms are located about 6 min. from Tony's house.
Do try the zip lining in Petty Harbour! Longest course in Canada. A great bunch of guys who operate the business.
And thank you to Tony who provided a welcoming bottle of wine, croissants with lots of other goodies. So grateful!
We loved our week in St. John's!

Wonderful place to stay
Tony’s home in St. John’s was definitely our ‘home away from home’. We arrived to food basics in the fridge and a bottle of wine on the dining room table followed by a phone call from Tony to make sure that we had everything we needed. The house itself, with its 12’ ceilings and crown molding, is classically and beautifully decorated, along with every comfort and kitchen supply you could need. The house is very clean, the beds very comfortable and the location is perfect – very close to downtown and less than half a block to Moo-Moo’s ice-cream. We used the patio each and every day. Yes, the house has three floors but then again, you’re in St. John’s so hills are the norm and the carpeted stairs are no problem. The house is at a busy intersection but only one of the bedrooms would know that (the one I was in) and I had the windows closed, fan on (during a rare St. John’s heat wave), and I was totally fine. If I’m ever in St. John’s again, I will definitely stay there and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. Thank you so much Tony for making us feel so very welcome.

"Comfortable and sparks your imagination" ... per our 11 year old grandaughter
We have stayed in many VRBO's and this one was truly unique relative to what we had experienced in the past. I believe that house was built in 1892 (correct me if I am wrong Tony) and certainly goes up far more than it goes out. Our grandkids (11, 8 and 5) loved it. Things like fireplaces in every room (nonfunctional now) was something they had never seen before. Tony has been working on some practical updates to the house. One that is virtually complete is the kitchen which we found to be well stocked with the basics (glasses, plates, cutlery, appliances, etc). As for Tony, he was very responsive throughout the booking process and our stay. He gets 5 stars also. About the only negative thing is that we had two cars. Only one parking stall came with the rental.
Tony is thinking about doing a history of the house, and we have advised him that, if it comes together, we would like to get a copy. Staying in it you certainly get a sense of history.
Just down the block is a large park that comes complete with a Beavertail outlet. The grandkids were fond of that also. The house is well located and within walking distance of the touristy shops and restaurants. Just remember that the downhill walk to get there comes with the uphill walk to get back … good exercise. The house was clean and the beds were very good. If we ever go back and have the numbers to justify it, we would hope that we could stay there again.

Lovely home in downtown area
We were six people staying in St. John's in July 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. We didn't cook in the house but the cupboards seemed stocked with everything you would need. There was even a lovely bottle of wine waiting upon our arrival. Since you are in the downtown area, everything is a close walk, but coming home is a steep walk uphill from the water. Best of all we enjoyed the deck on the third floor to enjoy the warm evenings. We were there during a heat wave in St. John's. Tony checked in a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. His response to inquiries was immediate and helpful.
The only comment I would make about this home is that it is 3 stories so if you have issues with stairs this might not be a good choice for you. The main floor has a living room, bedroom and half bath. Second floor has kitchen, dining and living room and full bath. Third floor has two bedrooms, full bath, large dressing room and closets and the outdoor deck. This home is on a busy corner so the front bedroom was quite noisy since we had to have the windows open because of the heat. I think if it's cool and you had the windows closed it would make a huge difference.
I would be happy to stay at this location again when visiting St. John's. The host was extremely easy to communicate with and very helpful.

Very convenient location for events and features in downtown St. John's.
Interesting older home, well appointed in general. Great location, walkable for all downtown features, understanding that St. John's is a hilly city and that means lots of up and down. Good for the cardio! Owner very quick to respond to questions. The main issue for us was not something easily solved. The house is on a busy road and located right at a traffic light. The main floor and second floor bedrooms are away from the front of the house and are quiet. The charming smaller bedroom on the top floor gets lots of natural light, but it is on the front of the house. When the weather is warmer, you need to open the window to cool the room and get fresh air, but this means hearing a lot of traffic, gunning up the hill or idling at the lights, some with noisy sound systems. Ear plugs might help. Otherwise, all went well and we enjoyed our stay.

Everything You Need
We were 2 couples and spent 5 nights here. The place was comfortable and very roomy. Because this is an older building there were a few issues but they were dealt with quickly and efficiently. If we ever make it back to St. Jean's we would love to stay here again. Walking distance to downtown and the Rooms. Having "Moo Moo"s the ice cream shop across the street was good and bad. It was amazing but my waistline may have paid a price.
We were pleasantly surprised to have some of our basic food needs in the fridge when we arrived and the bottle of wine was enjoyed. Plenty of towels and linens were available.
This place is so much better than a hotel. Very "homey". Thanks to all that made our stay enjoyable.

Beautiful and clean
Beautiful, spacious house in a great location. Upon arrival some bread, cheese, wine etc. was waiting for us. We stayed with our 3 children over New Year's eve and were close to everything; fireworks show, skating in the loop (Bannerman Park), swimming in indoor pool, sledding etc. We had a wonderful time. Thanks very much!

Great location
A nice stroll from the park, or The Rooms. A house on the Heritage Trail just far enough from the main streets to be quiet yet close enough to the action to walk. St. John's is a great city and the restaurants and some of the best anywhere. The house was good for 2 couples or even larger family. Still going through some renos but comfortable and clean. Well equipped kitchen and nice lounge and dining room. Big old Victorian house typical of the area. Enjoyed the outdoor deck and bbq. Early Sept is a good time to see this city. We would go back.
