We all had the best family vacation ever. Location was perfect and the house was amazing. We were missing a tv remote in the master bedroom and our host had a new one delivered within a few hours. The ice maker was a game changer! If we don't have any additional people next year, we will be back for sure!
The only reason that I gave it four stars for cleanliness was because my son in law, who is an HVAC technician noticed some mold on some of the AC registers. I would have never noticed!

We had a family reunion at the Outer Banks and Mike’s house was perfect to accommodate multiple family with the ages ranging from 1 to 68. We were traveling from California and Mike was always very quick to respond to all the questions we had leading up to the incredible trip. The house was beautiful and the location was amazing. We will be back for sure!

Dryer damaged some clothes. Lint trap pocket in dryer needs to be removed and cleaned up so that trap can be placed all the way in.

Wonderful location and having the private pool was amazing. I called the owner about the BBQ grill not being very good and a new one with accessories was delivered within 2 hours. We were very appreciative because we cooked in every meal. Fabulous time with family!

Our entire family was at Nags Head for the Burial at Sea of our brother's cremation remains. This house was the perfect fit for us. The layout of the house is perfect and so comfortable and well-appointed with everything we needed to take care of meals. The ice maker was a big hit!! We so enjoyed the hot tub after a hectic few days before we arrived at Nags Head. I have used VRBO several times at different locations and always take along my cleaning supplies, mop and bucket, but this time the house was in perfect condition we did not have to lift a finger to clean anything, first time ever!
A huge Thank You to Mike and his crew for making our stay so enjoyable and also arranging an early check in time. Next time in Nags Head we hope this house will be available to rent as it was not only perfect for our family but now such fond memories and the connection to our brother.

The home was pretty clean. The owner was very responsive and patient when we had questions. The kitchen has everything you need and more to cook meals. The view from the back porch was amazing. The were no negatives.

This house was wonderful for our little family getaway. The location was walking distance to a great bar with food at the pier. Great private access to the beach. Beautiful view of the pier and ocean. The owner was readily available for a few small questions. Highly recommend this house!

The property was as described and communication was excellent. The location could not have been better! Walking to the pier to fish was easy and we could watch the fishermen from the porch. The house fit our needs (7 adults between 60-75). We had room to spread out and common spaces to visit. Was a beautiful view!
Jockey's Ridge, a grocery store, and restaurants were close and easy to drive. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay at this property! We found this house to be quiet, just a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of nags head, but still close enough, five minutes or less, to do mini-golf and the adventure park with the kids. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were spotless, decor was beachy. Plenty of beach chairs at the house, uncrowded beaches, quick walk to Fish Heads for happy hour and fishing on the pier. Mike, the owner, was very responsive to our questions and gave great recommendations for family activities! We love to cook and eat out at the beach and found the kitchen well-appointed with all necessary items for our low country boil—crab crackers and giant pots—everything. We got seafood from whalebone seafood market (suggested by the owner, Mike)—AMAZING!!! Fresh from the ocean!! If given a choice we ALWAYS rent through VRBO or direct from owners—our last experience in OBX was with a prominent property management company and we had nothing but issues with communication! We have already booked this property for next summer and are so excited to return!! Thanks, Mike!! This house is the complete package and we had an amazing experience!! Thank you for sharing this home with us!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was a little hesitant to book this house after reading the recent reviews. I am glad I reached out to the owner, Mike! He assured me there were no issues with bugs. Since we are from South Carolina we are familiar with midges and palmettos—and it sounds like the previous guests may not have been. With that said—- my family and I had the BEST vacation! The house is just like PARADISE. It was very clean and bug free. The morning sunrises on the back deck were priceless! The beach was NEVER crowded and our kids played until the early evening. We walked over to eat lunch at Fish Heads several times. (You must try the Tuna sandwich!) We have little kids so we really liked that the pool was not directly in the back yard, less of a worry of them heading out to go swimming on their own. The entire family enjoyed the hot tub all day and night. The house description and amenities are exactly as advertised. This is truly a traditionally classic beach house, what a GEM! We will be back! Thanks Mike for sharing your beautiful house with us!

A roach crawled out of the stove when we turned it on the first night so we looked around & found several more roaches- living & dead. We messaged the Host who promptly scheduled pest control. They pulled out the stove, saw roaches, and sprayed. They said the existing bait in the cabinets was still good. We killed roaches all week in the fridge, on counters, and in bedrooms. SO STRESSFUL! Also had dark/murky hot tub water due to no chlorine in the dispenser & very dirty filter. Maintenance had us drain & refill the water. Host was again responsive & apologetic. He offered a refund “14 days after the review period is over” and wrote: “we hope that you do not leave a public review about the roaches.” It’s hard to say if any amount of money could make up for roaches in your vacation rental, but we thought maybe we could feel satisfied that the owner had made things right with us. We naively asked if we could know how much before we would forego a review. We now understand this can be construed as extortion since Vrbo emailed telling us “the host has contacted us regarding your messages, saying that you requested a refund in exchange for a good review.” I felt terrible reading that email bc I was just innocently trying to decide whether I could say ‘this place was awful & I’d never go again’ or ‘there were issues but the owner totally made up for it.’’ But to be clear - refund or not - our honest review is that our whole vacation was really tarnished by all the roaches & drama :(

Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy our stay here. Coming to celebrate my parents’ 50th anniversary, we were disappointed after a 9-hour drive to find several German cockroaches as soon as we arrived. I immediately contacted the property owner with pictures of the roaches we found, and he put me in touch with another property coordinator, Doreen. Although Doreen was very nice and sympathetic, they were unable to accommodate us at any other beachfront property nor did they offer to refund us. If it weren’t for my elderly parents who came only for the beachfront experience and were too exhausted to move, I would have left immediately. Even after an exterminator was sent out, we continued to find multiple live roaches daily throughout the entire house (even in the bedrooms!), which truly made for an unpleasant experience. The house is dated and in need of small repairs, but most importantly they need to stop renting for a while to handle the roach problem. For a place this expensive, dealing with a roach infestation is just unacceptable. Do yourself a favor, and pick one of the dozens of other beachfront rentals available along the Nags Head strip.

While the property is dated and a bit worn in some areas, it's clean with comfortable beds and everything you need to relax. The location and view are absolutely amazing and couldn't be more perfect. Walk to the pier for a bite and a beer or listen to a band. Tourist areas are a bit further away so you feel out of the fray and immersed in the vibe of what makes the Outer Banks such a draw for many. We would stay here again.

The location on the beach with the back windows and porch all facing a clear view of the ocean rolling in was just what we were looking for. Being early season, it was nice to be able to enjoy the ocean sitting in the hot tub. The house isn’t luxurious, if that matters to you, but it’s very roomy and open, and has everything we needed. Definitely would go again.

Our stay was fantastic!! The house was perfect for our needs... beautiful beach front views, comfortable beds, great seating for lounging and watching movies! The hot tub on the deck with the ocean view!! We had an extra treat of a full moon. I would highly recommend this cottage and will definitely be back!!

The only reason for a two star instead of one star, is the location. The beach was beautiful and the property was close to places we wanted to see. However the house looked like nobody cares about it all. Although the exterior had recently been painted, a lot more effort is needed on the inside. Everything inside was old and worn. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean, but windowsills, stair carpeting and corners were loaded with dirt and dust. There were empty cups and bottles in the yard and under the house. The linen system was confusing… it wasn’t clear if what was left for us to make our beds up was clean or dirty (some were wrapped in plastic and some sheets were not wrapped and covered with sand. So I decided to wash all linens first. The manager was responsive and helped us with the hot tub issue and replaced one set of wrapped linens that were soiled. But a plumber never showed up for a clogged shower. Overall we tolerated the conditions because we didn’t want to be have a cleaning crew intrude on our family time there, but overall we would try a different place next year.

We travel each year with our family to the Outer Banks and each year we select a different property. This year we had fewer people with us so we selected a smaller home. For us it is most important to be oceanfront and this property did not disappoint in terms of location and proximity to the beach - it was right up front. The property definitely is a little "worn" and most likely needs a good clean up now that Summer is over. The beach chairs, grill, and other outside items were in disarray but functional. The inside wasn't super clean but the linens were delivered fresh which helped. Definitely has an older Nags Head feel and we were comfortable. The sliding glass door to the balcony needs some attention and the windows looked like they had not been cleaned in a very long time. Furniture was worn but comfy so we didn't really mind. Would strongly suggest an upgrade on pots and pans. When families are renting a house it's a good indication they will be cooking more than going out. The pots and pans were very used. The owner was attentive to some of the issues we experienced including the need to have the hot tub serviced. He was pleasant and very responsive.

This property was everything and more. Tv in every room, beach chairs, games plenty beds, table that sat 8 with more seats available. Right on the beach! Pool! Hot tub. Ugh seats on back porch to watch the water or night sky. ICE MAKER; never had to buy ice all week. FABULOUS.

Beautiful home, with everything you need. Great beach, with pier within walking distance. Home is well appointed but comfortable so you can relax and enjoy. Great beds. Most importantly very clean and well cared for! Enjoyed our stay would definitely stay again! Owner had great recommendations for activities and was prompt in responses.

Everything was great on the beach, quiet, and a excellent location. It was great to have the pool with the little kids they truly had fun. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone, we had a family vacation with small children and it was great.

Wonderful Spring Break Trip
Our family (8 total) had a lovely time here. The house was clean and the perfect size for our family with all the necessary amenities. You can't beat the view nor the location to the Outer Banks Pier with Fishheads Bar and Grill. We enjoyed the hot tub as well. Mike (property manager) was very helpful and quick with communication with us. We would definitely rent this home again.

My only issue was that the owner did not disclose the outside work that was being done on the house during our visit and this did slightly detract from our enjoyment.

Perfect location
The house was perfect for our long weekend stay. Everything was just as described in the listing, with a beautiful oceanfront view and access. Just a few steps to the pier for dinner and drinks. Just a short drive to shops. Mike, the owner, was very easy to communicate with.

We had a great time! The short walk to the beach was fabulous! We loved sitting on the back deck in the early morning and evenings watching the ocean. The ice maker was the icing on the cake.
