Mary is a lovely warm host. Beds were very comfortable and was in a good location not to far from the town.

The B&B, in my opinion was not as nice as some of the B&B's I've stayed at in the US & others in Ireland but the price was inexpensive compared to other B&B's. I guess that is the trade off. The beds were ok in terms of comfort but the pillows were not comfortable, they were stiff and hard. The room and bathrooms were very clean but there was no room turn down or cleaning on a daily basis like I have had with other B&B's. As for breakfast, there was coffee, tea, milk, bread and eggs provided with a toaster & egg cooker but not what one would expect for a Bed & Breakfast (in my humble opinion and experience).

The location is excellent, the room was excellent and Mary the owner was amazing, friendly and catered to all our needs. Will definitly be coming back again.

The room was big enough for the both me and my sister and our twin beds. There was a nice wardrobe with plenty of hangars and shelving. An electric kettle and tea is provided in the rooms. The bathroom was good, with a good sized walk in shower with excellent water pressure. There was a comfortable lounge area for guests, and also a very nice dining area and kitchen with a walk out patio solely for guests. Although due to Covid there is no longer a prepared breakfast, the kitchen is stocked with cereal, bread, eggs, milk, tea and coffee etc and guest can make themselves a full breakfast if they choose. The Landlady Mary is very helpful and friendly. Carranross House is a very homey and cozy place to stay.

Although my sister and I didn't mind a bit of a walk, some guests might prefer to be a little closer to the center of Killarney. However, it is only about a fifteen minute walk to be right in the middle of the action in Killarney, and the bus/train station is only a ten minute walk, so we were fine with the location, so I really can't say that this is something I didn't like. It is just something those who would rather not walk as much should consider.
