Rented Thistle Dew for one week with son and his family. House was spacious and designed to accomodate large groups, including 5 bedrooms, 4, baths, large dining area, etc. Numerous accessories / amenities make this a true "home-away-from-home." Great communication with owner who took a personal interest in our stay. Located near Canaan Valley / Timberline Ski areas, Blackwater Falls State Park as well as towns of .Davis and Thomas for shopping, dining and entertainment. On future visits, this will be the first property I will check for availability. Excellent overall / Highly recommended A++.

“Thistle Dew” was everything described and more. The house was spacious and incredibly well-stocked. In spite of rain and chilly temperatures adults and kids had ample space to spread out and enjoy games, crafts, tv time and even a nap. When the weather cleared Blackwater Falls State Park and Smoke Hole Caverns were short, but beautiful drives away. And our Thanksgiving feast was perfect in the kitchen/dining area which provided plenty of seating and counter space. “Thistle Dew” will definitely be on our list of favorites for future reunions.

This house is spacious and well-appointed. It was perfect for our family of fourteen. The children loved the yard and the games and bikes available to them. A neighbor brought us flowers for our table and made us feel so welcome.

This was our third time staying here. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into maintaining the cleanliness of the house.
The views from the front porch are better than pictured. There are plenty of activities near by, but we almost never leave the house. We ride bikes, play games, and play outside in the yard.
The owners are very nice and helpful.

We were at Thistle Dew for a 3 night annual family reunion. Four families were in four different rentals and all agreed that ours was the best!! With two living areas, a garage with ping pong, two covered porches, large dining table, kitchen with bar seating, five bedrooms, four baths, large loft area, and air conditions, what else do you need? The host was super great and makes sure everything is clean & well appointed. We will be staying again next year!!

The house was stocked with anything you would need. It has gorgeous views of the mountains in the back, with a huge fire pit. The front had a large covered deck, perfect for hanging out with family or friends. There were two living rooms and a ping pong table for the kids to enjoy. The upstairs had a nice loft and office area in addition to the bedrooms.

We housed 13 men between the ages of 13 and 70 on our annual Fish Camp trip. The house was very well stocked with cookware and dishes.
4 bathrooms and plenty of hot water! Kids enjoyed the ping pong table since we did experience some pretty rainy weather. The back porch is huge and allowed for us to be outside even during wet weather. House is also very central to all the trout streams we enjoy visiting. Be sure to visit the Sawmill restaurant in Davis for an unbelievable breakfast (get the homemade toast) and we also hit Mama Mia Italian restaurant and had some of the best Italian anywhere!

This house was perfect for our family group of 14. There was adequate sleeping room for everyone, and the kitchen was nicely stocked. The yard and porches were so inviting, and there were plenty of games, toys, and activities for everyone, from age 4 to adult.

We had a great time with extended family. The weather didn’t cooperate for skiing but the house had more than enough room for games and the very well stocked kitchen made cooking meals easy. Everyone enjoyed the ping pong table and large selection of bikes.

Wonderful property for large family gathering
This house is an amazing space for a large group. There were 9 of us and it was so comfortable for everyone. Plenty of seating. They layout of the bedrooms is great.
We cooked all meals there and the kitchen has absolutely everything you need. One awesome perk is there is a second fridge in the garage. We brought coolers to keep on the porch for all the “adult” beverages but didn’t need them since the beer and wine could go in the second refrigerator.
And all the things you look for in a rental were on point- plenty of towels, comfortable beds and linens, good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
Will definitely stay again for the next family reunion.

Large home perfect for co-family vacation
Awesome home. Perfect for a blended family vacation. My family of 4, my sister and her husband stayed comfortably with plenty of space. Large kitchen with everything you need. TV's in all the rooms except for the bunk bed rooms, which is great because my kids don't have any in their rooms at home. Nice, large fire pit outside with wood available. Lovely surroundings, saw deer every morning. Fireplace is wonderful. Heated the entire first floor. Good water pressure, and water gets hot fast! Lots of bikes & a pingpong table in the garage too. I was pleasantly surprised. Home was great. Only complaint, the beds are super hard. Just not what I'm use to. Otherwise great stay.
