Casa indicada para um execelente ambiente em família. Situada num local onde só se houve o barulho dos pássaros. Muito bem recebidos. Piscina tal e qual como demonstra as fotografias.

nous avons passé un séjour de 6j très agréable, la météo etait là mais en plus la maison est très bien équipée jusqu'au moindre accessoire de cuisine. le jardin et la vue de la maison sont magnifique. La piscine profonde de 1m40, c'est exactement ce qu'il faut pour se baigner et que les enfants puissent vraiment en profiter en toute sécurité. Une climatisation dans chaque pièce, une bonne literie dans chaque chambre sauf dans celle de lits jumeaux qui est un peu moins confortable mais rien de bien grave. La suite est génial. Bref, je recommande vivement car les prestations et l'accueil des propriétaires est à la hauteur de ce que l'on peut attendre d'un bon séjour!! Encore merci à antonio et sa femme pour leur accueil et leur disponibilité

A clean, modern and well equipped property in a beautiful location. The location of the pool is unconventional which might be a problem for families with small children because if they are in the pool they are invisible from the villa. However, the planting around the pool is very attractively landscaped with great views. The short drive up a steep narrow road could prove a problem for less confident drivers. Gerês is a nice village to mooch around with some shops, bakery, butcher, supermarkets, restaurants, etc. There is a park with a small boating lake. Travellers need to be aware how long it takes to drive anywhere because the the roads are so steep and winding. We didn’t want to drive more than 40 minutes in each direction every day so actually very few places are accessible in that time. Highlights for us were Bom Jesus near Braga and Portem da Homem and Sao Bento. When you are driving around there are multiple places you can stop and admire the amazing views down into the valley. Overall a great holiday.

A lovely property. the main bedroom is gorgeous but the three smaller bedrooms and bathroom are dated and need revamping with more bathroom facility upstairs to these rooms. one bathroom for three double bedrooms is not enough.

This home was a true mountain paradise. Situated up a narrow drive it is fully equipped with everything you need complete with wood for the outdoor bbq and fully equipped kitchen. It is modern and cozy at the same time. The owner was prompt and very helpful. The pool was marvelous with views of the moutains. There were plenty of towels and linens. Great for a family vacation, would certainly return.

We had a very enjoyable week at the house with the family. Geres is quite dull - the shops are basic and the restaurants poor - the countryside up the hill is spectacular and swimming in the reservoir was wonderful. It's not really a base to explore as the last part of the route to Geres is quite slow. The house sort of works although the pool feels to be in the wrong place. There is no air con so the three bedrooms (which are quite small) get very warm. It was very peaceful until the local public pool start blasting music on Saturday and Sunday throughout most of the day. The owners were helpful and very responsive.

Schone, prima verzorgde, ruime woning met prachtig zwembad. Keuken goed uitgerust. Omgeving vrij toeristisch maar prachtig: heerlijk kunnen wielrennen en wandelen.

We (family of 4 with two sons, aged 17 and 15 from Germany) stayed for two weeks at the end of July / beginning of August. The house is very nice and invites on the one hand to spend time here, but on the other hand is an ideal starting point for a variety of activities. In the Peneda National Park we hiked some very varied trails (the app Wikiloc has saved some good routes here, otherwise there are good suggestions on the website or in the tourist office). We have also made trips to Braga, Guimarães, Porto, Santa Cruz, the coast and the Douro Valley. The house is very well equipped and even the kids were happy with the WiFi :-). The pool is large and offers beautiful views. Gerês offers several restaurants where you can eat at very reasonable prices. If you do without the car, you have will loose the calories as quickly as you eat them, because the way to the house is not long but quite steep. The morning walk to the bakery replaced in any case the jogging. But the house offers a great view, where you can enjoy the evenings with a good glass of port wine in absolute peace. Two highlights around the topic of port wine: - Lunch at Graham's Port Lodge in Porto with a fantastic view of Porto. If you want to avoid the not quite cheap food you can just enjoy a glass of port wine on the terrace. - In the Douro Valley, we visited the Sandeman Winery (Quinta de Seixo), with a magnificent view over the vineyards. Overall, a great holiday for each of us had something to offer, in a beautiful house with very nice hosts. Highly recommended, as long as you are not aiming for the classic beach holiday, but a healthy mix of activities and chill out at the pool.

I travelled with my family (2 parents, 3 kids - 14, 11, 3 years). We were looking for a nice place as basis to explore the several beauties of Geres national park. And we found the perfect place with Antonio's house. The feeling of the house reflects the love Antonio and his wife were and are putting into it. It is very clean and neat and very well kept. The house and whole property is very spacious and quiet. The pool upstairs behind the house is a great place to enjoy. The pictures in the description capture that very well. The sun appears over the surrounding mountains at 10am and disappears at 7pm. Though temperatures were quite high and there is no A/C, the climate / temperature in the house is kept amazingly well. Antonio has put some fans into the rooms. The house is fully equipped with everything we needed. If I were asked to recommend further improvements, I would say some more towels and basics for the kitchen (coffee, milk, fruit - just for the start) would do perfectly. The communication with Antonio was always very prompt and friendly. He received us in the village and guided us to the house where his lovely wife was waiting for us. The welcome was very heartily. The whole family loved the place and wanted to stay longer. We all would definitely recommend the house to our best friends.

Beautiful, comfortable home on the mountainside. House is very clean with all that you need for a vacation. Antonio was very helpful in getting us situated and was available for any questions. Very much enjoyed the mountain retreat and would highly recommend to friends or family.

Encontrámos esta propriedade através do HomeAway e ficámos logo apaixonados com o local. Desde o primeiro contacto com o Sr. António Amaral até ao final da estadia a rapidez na resposta, simpatia, amabilidade esteve sempre presentes. A propriedade está num local privilegiado na vila do Gerês, perto de tudo, mas afastada o suficiente para se poder relaxar sem o barulho da vila. É o local perfeito para se estar em harmonia com o meio ambiente, desfrutando da magnífica paisagem do Gerês. As fotos não conseguem descrever toda a beleza do local. A habitação está completamente equipada com tudo aquilo que é necessário para passar umas férias de luxo. Aproveito para agradecer o bom gosto e dedicação que o Sr. António e a sua Esposa tiveram ao edificar este local que ficou no nosso coração como o melhor local para ficar no Gerês. Ficámos com pena de ser só um fim-de-semana, mas certamente iremos voltar num futuro próximo.

Uma casa extraordinária para descanso total no Gerês. A localização é fantástica uma vez que está super perto do centro da vila. A piscina tem umas vistas magnificas, sempre limpa e com uma temperatura de água fabulosa. A casa em si é ideal para quem procura total privacidade. Fui recebido pelo Sr. António Amaral com muita simpatia e foi muito transparente durante todo o contacto. Obrigado por tudo.

Esta propriedade tem tudo que é necessário para um descanso rexante. A vista deslumbrante, o ambiente do parque natural e o conforto oferecido pela casa, fazem desta propriedade uma óptima solução, para uns dias no Gerês em família ou amigos. Fomos recebidos com uma garrafa de vinho do porto que acompanhado com o calor da lareira soube lindamente depois da cansativa viagem. Passamos nesta casa um fim de semana em família inesquecível , num cenário verdadeiramente deslumbrante pela grandiosidade da natureza em seu redor. A casa está decorada com bom gosto e tem todas as comodidades necessárias para uma estadia relaxante. Para além disso está dotada de uma piscina com uma exposição solar fantástica e privacidade garantida... um pequeno pedaço de paraíso. Sem dúvida, a morada certa para uma estadia no Gerês.
