Loved our stay in Lake City with the Gowdy Properties location. Everything was superb!

I stayed in Lake City for a few days to do some hiking in the area, and this house fit my needs. Plenty of room for one or two people. Everything needed was provided. Would love to stay here again in the future.

Jim and Dana Gowdy are fantastic! I had several different personal audibles in my stay and the Gowdy's were super accommodating when they did not have to be. The facilities were immaculate and comfortable. I will be staying at a Gowdy property again. I highly recommend them.

We enjoyed our stay at a perfect little cabin in Lake City with friends to celebrate a birthday. Communication was fantastic. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed and the location was great. I would highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at Jim’s place in Lake City! The location was perfect, within walking distance to mostly everything and a close drive to the lake. Jim was very helpful throughout the stay with any questions we had. We enjoyed the hot tub, especially after hiking Uncompahgre! We can’t wait to go back and stay here again!!

“Gowdy” is a great operator of properties in the area and this unit specifically is really fun for a couple or family with a couple of kids. Nice kitchenette. Nice property amenities with hot tub and fire pit, although we used neither as we only stayed one night. Ate Dinner at Crave, fabulous meal. “High End” and expensive but worth it for the service and quality. Loved Lake City and this property. We’ll be back!

The place fit our needs perfectly. It was nestled up against the hill back from the main road. It was clean and nice. We made great use of the hot tub after some long hikes. Communication with Jim was great.

The place is what it looks like online. The cabin was clean and well stocked. Jim was very helpful with things about the town or anything else. I would definitely stay there again.

Almost as soon as I booked our stay, the host opened up a line of communications which continued as necessary right up until our arrival at the property, where he greeted us, gave us a quick tour of the place, acquainted us with its amenities, and offered any help we needed during our stay. The place was comfortable and well-provisioned. We enjoyed the hot tub, and I'm sure we would have enjoyed the fire pit if we had had the opportunity to use it. My wife and I found only two (rather small) minuses. (1) There was a lack of really good lighting for reading. We are both pretty avid readers, and our eyes are getting older and need more light than they used to. (2) The shower was a rather tight fit, at least for me. I'm 6'5" tall and weigh 210 pounds, so it may not be as much of an issue for smaller folks. Our host had texted me the directions to the property (since some GPS's apparently give erroneous directions), including a photo of the house behind which our property was located. Once I had given him an ETA as we were driving to Lake City, he kept in touch to make sure we had no problems finding the place and ensuring that it was cleaned and ready for us when we arrived. (Be aware that, if you are approaching Lake City from the south, cell service is spotty between South Fork and Creede, and pretty much nonexistent from Creede to Lake City and plan accordingly.)

My husband and I were in town getting started on our home. This place was very convenient and easily accessible for us to come and go each day!

This property was perfect for our vacation. It was well stocked with everything we needed for a week long stay. The communication from Jim the property manager was excellent. He and his wife Dana were friendly and helpful. Could not have been more pleased.

This was a great place to stay in Lake City. Love having the hot tub right there. The King size bed was very comfortable. Great layout, with plenty of space. It had everything that we needed. The host was very friendly and willing to accommodate out needs and gave us privacy at the same time. Check-in info was sent a week in advance, so we had very clear instructions, which made it very easy and convenient. Thank you very much Jim! Lorraine & Sarah

Attentive and good host. Nice and comfortable lodging. The community of Lake City, CO is quiet during the winter. We found it perfect for what we wanted following holiday with family. We hadan excellent dinner in this small town.

We loved this property! And Jim couldn't have been more helpful, with restaurants and outing recommendations and clarifications on what kitchen equipment was available (they had everything!). The house is very well outfitted with everything you might need (yep, even a box fan for those of us who need white noise). Outside, the hot tub, fire pit and grill were fantastic extras. We hope to be back!

The place is very cute and really clean.

Great property close to everything. We had a side by side, trailer and pickup and there was plenty of parking. Loved the firepit and hot tub in the aspen trees. Saw lots of deer hanging out. Apartment was great for 2, comfy bed. Loved the on demand water heater. Owners were great and helpful about Lake City info and trails to ride in the area.

It was a perfect place to stay. Friendly, clean and everything we needed!

The property was exactly as described and perfectly met our needs. Dana gave us a good tip to drive part of the Alpine Loop to see the old mines, which we greatly enjoyed. We liked learning the history of that part of Colorado. And we loved the screened in porch.

We had a very comfortable stay in this cute unit. The owners obviously gave careful thought to making the space very easy to use and navigate. We chose it because it had a hot tub, which most places in Lake City don't have. It was great to soak away soreness from long day hikes. Another plus is that It is away from the main road.

We genuinely enjoyed this charming property! we needed a place to stay while we explored mountain biking and hiking possibilities on the Alpine Loop. The cottage was tidy and comfy and perfect for our needs. The hot tub was a much needed amenity at the end of active days. We will definitely stay here again when we return to this area!
