We stayed at this beautiful property as we are bikers and wanted something close to the trails. This location is right on the Paul Bunyan trail. After biking, we were able to enjoy the dock and swimming was great! The sunsets were gorgeous! The cabin had everything we needed as well for the week.

The property had a lot of nice spaces to enjoy the lake inside and outside.

1. Kabekona Bay was fairly quiet even on 4th of July week. Great water depth for our boat...nice landing nearby...easy to keep boat safe at the dock. Nice yard and huge driveway.
2. There are firearms on the property - some as decor...some chained up with a bike lock. Unsettling if you brought youngsters...or if you've had gun-related trauma. I have no issues with gun ownership, but wish they were locked in a safe in a rental property. Bottom drawer of oven filled with rodent killer and a foul odor. Deck boards rotten in several locations. Zero smoke detectors were working (no batteries) when we arrived. We added batteries. We had to replace some burned out lightbulbs (there were some on site, which was nice). Master bed is very, very soft. Mattress is so thick, the sheets don't stay on. There are 7 dinner plates and 3 steak knives. No pizza pan or cookie sheets. Really nice knives, mixer, and pots/pans, though. 1960's wallpaper, cabinetry, and gross carpet in the kitchen.
3. Convenient check in/check out and great communication. We had a nice stay, but some improvements need to be made to the property (safety, docks, carpet).

We didn’t want to leave. The location of this property is private, with great views of this beautiful lake.

There is no better location if you want to stay on a lake. Easy access to town, fishing, boating, and sightseeing.

The week we were there we experienced all of Minnesota weather conditions. We enjoyed the bike path the fishing the 4 wheeler trails. I agree with the previous review. Home is very nice but could use some updating especially the dock getting a bit rickety. Over all we love this place and always enjoy our time there

The property, the lakefront location, the fire pit, the proximity to everything are worth the price. We had perfect fall weather, and the colors were near prime. We really appreciated the location for our needs. The bathrooms are updated and nice, the cabin is cozy but dated in some areas. Great spot for privacy and lake front access for a boat and access to Leech Lake fishing. Dock set up is very nice but also needs some updating for next season.

We love to bicycle and this location is right on the bike trail with access to over 150 miles of trails. Great place and beautiful view of the lake and sunsets. Definitely would do again.

This cabin is as beautiful as the pictures in the posting and the sunsets even more gorgeous and breath-taking than photos can show. Right on the lake, it is quiet and lovely. The home is right on one of the major bike trails, giving access to miles of trails either way from Walker. The place is a short drive into Walker where there are restaurants, stores and groceries. It is about 1/2 hour from Itaska State park as well. Truly a great experience.

Autumn getaway
This is a beautiful property right on the shore of Leech Lake. There are wonderful views of the lake. The home is very close to Walker and has neighbors close by but feels quite private. We hiked at nearby Itasca State Park and enjoyed the northern lights on both nights of our stay!

Seven tears of coming back and it still feels like home. We look forward each year to see what and if anything has changed in the area. Great place

Great location and privacy
We enjoyed our week staying at this cabin. The location, property and lake were great. We spent a lot of time sitting on the patio enjoying the lake view.
The cabin was nice especially the remodeled bathrooms. My only complaint is that the cabin had a lot of carpet and it was very stained especially in the kitchen and living room. It made it feel dirty.

Peaceful
It is a beautiful setting and so relaxing. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, gorgeous sunsets, and easy access to the lake. The weather was perfect the week we were there. Very nice and roomy cabin.
One suggestion on directions - we never saw a 25 mile road sign and missed the turnoff. Suggest looking for the red and white bobber instead.

Cleanest place we've ever rented! Great location for ice fishing or shopping and dining in Walker. The cabin is well equipped and very comfortable. Half way through our stay we ran into an issue with the hot water and contacted the owner. It turned out that the propane that he had ordered had not been delivered as requested. He promptly apologized and offered to refund our stay while also allowing us to stay at the cabin. We decided to stay at the cabin and book the cheapest room at nearby Chase on the Lake to shower. We heated water on the stove to do dishes. It was a minor hiccup that was handled by the owner with grace. We would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful
One of the quickest and easiest rentals. The home is beautiful, clean and very spacious. We loved that it was right on the lake. We were able to get some ice fishing done and enjoyed some snow. Would definitely stay here again, looking for summer dates but this place seems pretty popular. Would absolutely recommend.

Great Lake Home
This is a great location - huge driveway, great snowmobile access to the lake and trails. The house is very clean and well organized. It had all of the utensils and cookware to make and enjoy meals. The owners were super responsive and willing to share fishing tips. We had a chance to meet a few neighbors and they were very friendly and also loved to talk fishing which to me was a great bonus. The king size bed was super comfy - i slept better there than i do at home - could have been due in part from being exausted from the days activities. My wife rarely left the fireplace, and probably read 2 books sitting in front of it. House was warm and comfortable in every room. Oh - and the water tastes great! We would book this again, and definitely recommend it to others.

Great stay and location cannot be beat!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. Great location right on the lake and the cabin was well stocked with everything we needed for our getaway. Lots to do in the area with Lake Itasca, Bemidji, etc. within an hour drive. We made campfires, hiked and fished and made some great family memories!

Absolutely perfect
The property is nothing short of incredible. The house was beautiful and clean. Being on the water allowed me to tie my boat up during the stay. The dock is massive with plenty of room to fish even with the boat tied up. The best part of the trip was my communications with the owner. Wonderful hosts and extremely helpful. I would stay here 10/10 times.

Clean cabin with great location on Kabekona Bay
Cabin was exactly as described and shown in the listing and very clean. The driveway is great for trailer turn around, nice big patio in the back with lake view and the owners were quick to respond to any questions. We really enjoyed our stay.

Kabekona Cabin
Our Family really enjoyed our weeks long stay at the cabin. The cabin was very clean upon arrival, very nice updated bathrooms which the girls really liked. The sunroom was perfect as we had great views of the lake and a very private feel. The bike trails were very close, we even took a ride to Walker for ice cream one day. The boat dock was perfect for our 18ft fishing boat. There is boat access if you head out the east side of Kabekona Bay towards Walker bay where you can unload. Owners were great at answering questions before we came, I also had a great chat with the owners Dad as he was finshing up the mowing and he gave me some fishing tips as it was our first time at Leech Lake, very nice of him! We managed to catch a few walleye everyday to stay well fed.
Overall we had an awesome stay, with so many great memories!Thank you for opening up your home to us we would love to come back and stay again!

R & R by the Lake
The property is quiet and secluded, even though there are neighbors close by. Everything was as stated in the listing, and we were very pleased with the kitchenware that was available and the remodeled bathrooms. The lake was clean and not overcrowded, and we had dock access for our boat. The outdoor space was terrific. The only suggestion I would offer is having a keypad on the front door, rather than only one key to try to keep track of for family coming and going. We would definitely book again and had a very relaxing week. Mike & Tammy Dahl

Great time at Kabekona Bay!
Our family of 6 ( grandpa, grandma, mom, dad and 2 children) just finished a great experience at the Kabekona beach cabin. The cabin was very comfortable, clean and all the amenities we would want. Bathrooms very especially nice. Very private location on the bay with a nice dock to use. Very convenient to Walker and the Paul Bunyan bike trail is just steps away from the cabin. The only negative was we wished we had more time to spend there! We would definitely consider renting again.
Thank you Travis and Tia for opening up your home for us to use. We had a great time. Highly recommended.

Fall Get Away
Beautiful views/location! The house was nice - loved the sun room. We did find the beds uncomfortable, as different than what we are used to. The guns everywhere were a surprise. A couple suggestions - it would be good to have a cupboard that is designated for guests to use -- it felt awkward putting our food items in cupboards with owner items, but didn't want them sitting out, so didn't have a choice. Also -- we were a little shocked that there wasn't a door on the bathroom in the Master Suite.
Overall a very nice getaway -- best views of anyplace we've ever stayed in the Walker area.

Lovely home on a quiet bay near Leech Lake
Beautiful location and setting for the property. Sunroom was definitely a hit with our group. We spent a good amount of time there. We were surprised at the number of guns and also access to the supply of alcohol in the cupboard. We had not had that experience in prior VRBO locations. We enjoy the VRBO experience.

Enjoy being outdoors
This property has a great location for just about everything on the bike trail. Boat docks great patio to look at the lake and read a book. You have neighbors but are far enough away so you have your privacy.

Comfortable and Scenic Location
Very nice place. For people using Google maps for guidance, it would be better for you to post your address as County Hwy 38. You have it as County Road 38 and then Google locates you in the wrong place. Otherwise, everything great !
