Location was great and in perfect walking distance for restaurants and food outlets. Number One being literally next door is amazing - go try it!

I know it's an old property and you should expect some creaking but the flooring right outside my room door was noisy and I was woken up an number of times with other guests either returning or leaving. Again something that can't be changed there is a street lamp literally outside the bedroom window. It might be helpful to have a black out blind which can be lowered in the room I was in.

We were at an Equestrian event nearby and were supposed to be camping. The hotel provided a good night's sleep and shower when we needed it at the last minute. The receptionist was really pleasant and helpful - especially as our check in was late.

advertised it had a restaurant and it didn’t. carpets on the stairs were filthy. The room wasn’t serviced after the first night so no clean towels etc. It was noisy! The towels were too small.

Bathroom very small, lots of stairs to top floor with luggage, traffic noise in the night and light outside bedroom shining all night. Would have liked a bar.

The breakfast was excellent, well cooked and a good choice of food. The location was great for exploring the borders and Selkirk.

Location in town excellent. Room was clean and comfortable . Breakfast was good.

Shabby entrance.lack of facilities. No bar. Spartan residents lounge. Last breakfast 9:00am. Departure by 10. It had an unwelcoming feeling overall with no atmosphere.

The staff was very friendly and helpful when needing to check in early for a wedding. The room was lovely and modern, was very quiet for it being on the high street which was lovely.

Only think I didn't like but it didn't give me a problem just use to. Was the shower as it wasn't very strong of a pressure but still managed to shower.

Room was clean and met my requirements. Was able to open the window to get fresh air in.

Could here banging doors from other residents but know this is to be expected.

Did not have breakfast.

This Hotel needs a lot of work to bring it up to reasonable standard. Decor in need of complete overhaul.

It was clean and quiet

The bed was springy, the water cold and the sink water came back up through the shower plug hole

The room was reasonably priced, larger than expected, spotlessly clean and the bed super comfy! Breakfast is better than any hotel I've ever stayed in. All freshly cooked to order - none of the "kept warm" or reheated stuff you so often find these days. There was a great choice, and you can add extra items FREE!

The weather could have been better ... but you can't blame the hotel for that!
