Good price, ideal location to explore the city and the Cathedral. Comfy bed. Good room temp.
Very tired rooms, staff not exactly friendly, bordering hostile. Lifts, interesting.

Beds where mattresss springs felt through. Felt they could break if you turned in your sleep. Pillow case had blood on it. This was changed. When checking in was snapped at no please or thank you. Only nice member of staff was a gentleman whom apologied for the pillow having blood on it

The receptionist from India who had just finished his masters was absolutely brilliant! I needed help with my tv and he’s sorted it immediately, he also located my fan on a very hot day… what nice man, a real asset to your company
I left a dress on the chair, when I called it want there… very disappointed as it was brand new

The heating system was bad. And they turned it off in the nite, made the room cold

It has the perfect location. Right at the bus transit. 5 mins walking distance to the town centre. There is a Starbucks 2 mins away and and a Sainsbury’s express.
You get what you paid for. The paid wifi is really good. My husband was able to play online. The bed was clean.
It’s cleanish. It’s very old. You can tell it wasn’t upgraded for a long time. The rooms are ok. Shower didn’t work first. The drain was blocked. Service manager came very soon after we complaint. The fact we just stayed there to sleep it was ok.

Everything is very tired looking. The room was sparse (due to covid, as the note in the room says!). Heating not working so a small plug-in radiator, which did the job. No enthusiastic greeting form the reception staff. Restaurant limited to a 1970's style three-course dinner. Coffee shop closed.
No car park so, against my better judgement parked in a dodgy looking council car park 10 minutes walk away. next morning found my driver's side window had been smashed. Looked like pure vandalism. Location very central, but the centre has no soul. Everyone walks around as if the have just lost a relative. A very depressing area.

We stayed 3 nights but the room was not serviced during that time

The facilities in the room were poor - mainly there was no button to operate the shower. Also, the lift likes did not work on the 3rd flood.
The breakfast was very disappointing and basic, If I had been a non-traditional English eater I would probably have had to eat toast and jam as my main meal
