The location was amazing, the amenities and the care from the staff was also exceptional from check in to check out, all amazing. Even the nice add ons where water was supplied and chocolates on your pillow at night and watermelon at the pool all added to the amazing experience we had.

The beds were a little firm for my liking but that is minor. We loved our stay.

This hotel is now very inflexible if you want to change your booking or select other dates. We had a sick family member and couldn't use the hotel on the dates.

The staff were pleasant, the hotel felt light and airy. The food was also nice!

I was disappointed that the booking dot com website states it has a sauna. Sauna is an important part of my routine, so when I book accommodation, I always check to make sure there is a sauna. Unfortunately the only sauna on site was in the day spa and involved an extra charge to use it. This is not usually the case at hotels. Often the sauna is in the pool area and part of the hotel facilities to be used. Apparently there is a hot room near the pool, but this is also not a sauna. I was also disappointed with the cleanliness in my bathroom. The grout was black and off putting. It needs a good bleach or fresh grout. I expected more from Sofitel.

The very centre of town. Quiet. Surrounded by shops and eateries and a minute to the beach.

Location, location, location! sizeable room for a couple comfortable bed car park had EV chargers (although the "Tesla only" chargers should be available to other cars if they are not in use)

I had asked for a high floor on booking but we got the 3rd floor (which is actually the lowest floor with rooms, and our view of the river was mostly blocked by a tree) Yes, others may have booked before us, but surely there was one room on levels 4 to 6 (on the riverside)? The hotel itself is looking a little "tired" but I guess they are on a winner with its location
