I love the view, the food, the Rasta tour, and the Zimbali family. The Garlic Shrimp for dinner was awesome. The swimming pool has a beautiful view.
Fruits fell from the trees hitting the metal roof of our room. When all is quiet and that fruit hits the roof, it can give you a little scare. If you are not a nature person, the sounds of frogs and insects chirping and making mating calls can be rough when you are trying to sleep.

I loved everything about this place. Well done by Mark and his team. Definitely won't be our last time here. Felt like our home away from home.
I wish I could have spent more time. Everything about this stay was perfect.

Super schöne Unterkunft im Grünen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und die leckere Küche genossen.

The accommodation is warmly decorated, clean and homely. I especially enjoyed the fresh water pool.
We were not given enough info on activities. I turned down the mountain walk because I have bad arthritis. We were offered a trip down to the river but not told when it was. We opted to join the cooking show but we’re not told there was a farm tour beforehand. The food was amazing but it was disappointing to be charged the full amount when we did not have the full tour. Myself and my daughter were booked to stay for 2 weeks but were harshly welcomed by Alicia and I decided I could not stay the full 2 weeks. The staff are very helpful and we both enjoyed the atmosphere especially the live music. I like the fact it’s a family home. The children are gorgeous and extremely well mannered. Chef Shavon is an amazing cook and Samoya was very helpful and friendly. Alicia seems like a nice lady but is very harsh with her delivery. It was nice to meet Mike. He has great communication and customer services. His approach is excellent 10/10.

This property is a hidden gem! I know many of us use that terminology however Zimbali is truly one of a kind!
The property was Outstanding! If you are looking for rest and tranquility, this is the place!

The place was beautiful. Mark the host was warm and friendly. The place had a very laid back family feel to it. All the staff were friendly and made us welcome. Clean tidy, well presented. Location for me was awesome. Maybe not ideal for people with young families
No access to any other food. I had two teenage boys who, the food portions were not enough for them.
I asked for some bananas, and they did provide them. Considering the abuntance of fruit, it would have been useful to have had access to some at any given time.
We had to wait, unknowingly, an extra two hours for dinner when the cooking show took place, which we didnt attend.
They had a guard dog, and im fine with dogs and that its useful to have extra security, but this dog was free to roam around and made me feel uneasy, as the dog was unapproachable.
Married duo hosts, Mark was fabulous, his wife not so much.

Location in a middle of a rain forest, it was wonderful to hear the sounds of nature and nothing else in the early morning while having some good coffee. Local cooks are masters, quality of food they were serving was stunning. Object manager Mark was very helpful in organizing drivers for our trips. He also organized a birthday cake for my daughter on our arrival.
Kids loved the pool. I have found most of the Jamaican endemite birds in Zimbali surroundings.

- Truly once-in-a-lifetime experience in a very beautifully designed wooden hotel with a gorgeous pool and an unbeatable view of the jungle of Jamaica.
- Mark, the owner, is the most amazing host you can imagine: so kind and welcoming. His kids are 'cuteness-overload' as well, you truly get to see a bit of their great family. And also the other local staff is very friendly.
- The food is also extremely good: fresh from their own farm, healthy and more creative than elsewhere.
- The cooking show is also definitely to be recommended.
- The whole place is kept extremely well clean.
- Our 'cottage' accommodation was the best: very spacious, great balcony with multiple seats and as it was located on the side, we had good privacy and you heard less of the sounds some others tell about in their review.
- Don't go here if you don't want to go with the(ir) flow: it is a family business, they don't have a day schedule or a menu (but you don't need it, as all is good!), the utilities like sun beds or the bathrooms are not like you'll find in a five star hotel: you should want to come here to get A TRUE JAMAICAN EXPERIENCE
- We can confirm other reviews that the owner's wife can create a bit of an uncomfortable atmosphere with her screaming

The rooms are fantastic, clean and comfortable. Fresh coffee and water in the room, beautiful views from the hammock on the balcony.
I recommend the cooking show and the Rasta excursion.
The food, the atmosphere, the vibe , the staff and owners make this place a must stay.

The location in the mountains is so tranquil, and the grounds are lovely.
The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food is so fresh and delicious!
Nothing really bets lying in a hammock listing to the music made by the insects and animals as the dusk approaches.
The room was nice and spacious and was cleaned daily.
Don't miss out on some of the tours they offer, I can recommend the hike up the mountain and the cooking show!

Cosy and comfy rooms, with a nice pool. Communal areas and bar have a good atmosphere, there are games and books.
We had to leave early to catch our flight before usual breakfast hours; the owner was so kind to get up early as well and prepared us delicious egg taco's for breakfast !

Everything! Mark, Alecia and all of the other people working there are so nice and welcoming. I actually didn't want to leave this place. It felt like home, but in the middle of a jungle, up in the hills of Jamaica.
The food is amazingly good - it's all natural and most of it from the farms around. The Cooking Show and the rastafarian tour are really cool - a highly recommend!
Thank you so much for the amazing time we had at Zimbali!!

There's nothing bad to say about this experience... The owners are very friendly, the breakfasts and all food were incredible, and the optional experiences gave us a real taste of Jamaica.
The only challenge is the dirt road in. Take it slow, and you'll be fine.

Spirit of calm and peace in a beautiful setting. Lovely staff, especially Nicky and Natalie and the other helpful staff and support Chef Timothy.
The owners, Mark and Lisa are just so wonderful in their approach to hosting their visitors. We really appreciate them.
Really friendly villagers too, including the amazing Fire, who knows his plants!
And…….the birds…the birds! a real symphony of sound. A great environment to ‘retreat’ to.

This a must visit when going to Jamaica. The environment, the food, the culinary show, the people and staff, the rooms and the view are all top notch. For some true peace and quiet this is the place. The owners are the kindest people and their children are sweethearts.
Nothing. Everything was great!

Beautiful interiors and lounge area great for reading and relaxing and while watching the jungle. Misty was very kind and accommodating, breakfasts were tasty and hike to meet Fire The Rastaman was a fun experience. Cooking show with live music was enjoyable, but place got really busy for couple hours.
It’s a family-run enterprise so expect owners’ kids roaming all over the place. Chef had a lot of strange attitude and was shouting a lot at either the staff or kids, bringing rather anxious and stressed vibe to the place.

very authentic
it was too far from the beach and the road was difficult

The local staff were anxious to please.
The owner’s wife was loud and obnoxious. She would frequently curse in a loud voice about various things in hearing range of the guests.
The room was stink.

My friend and I came to Zimbali to celebrate our birthdays and disconnect from it all. From the moment we stepped on to the property, everyone treated us so well. We fell in love with the place and the people. It's in the middle of nature and there's nothing there to distract you from what's really important in life.
That we had to leave.
