The cottage was clean and well kept. The shower was amazing and the beds very comfy!
Lots of straight forward information provided and very thoughtful welcome package
Great location especially if you're there with children. We explored a local bird hide the afternoon we arrived, and we're a good distance to Colchester Zoo and Wyvernwood which were amazing!
Can't wait to go back and try out the giant inflatable obstacle course that's a 2 minute walk away!
It was very cosy! The way the cottage was laid out was well designed for the size but we had 4 adults and a child staying, which was a bit of a squeeze. I think 2 adults and 2 kids could be quite comfortable though.
The traffic outside was unfortunately easy to hear from the bedrooms, this was probably made worse by the traffic lights that were put up immediately outside the door which would be very unlikely to happen again.
The landing light is on a sensor which is understandable with the stairs if any children are staying, but it can get a bit irritating for someone trying to fall asleep.

Perfect for a weekend break, everything thought of & catered for, communication excellent.

Relatively easy to find - parking is available outside the cottage. The garden was secure for our dog, who spent most of the time sniffing around.
From hand wash to a towel for the dog and so many things between this cottage offers a real home from home stay. We enjoyed using it as a base for day trips to the surrounding towns/villages. There is also enough available in St Osyth village if you just want to walk around and pick up groceries/takeaways
on a busy road so if you like your cottage to be super quiet this is not the location for you and, unfortunately while we were there, a lot of building work is taking place on the new estate close to the cottage

Wayside cottage was exceptionally clean and well equipped. Lots of thoughtful little touches like the welcome pack and things like spare toothbrushes and flannels. Very warm and cosy with a real fire.

It was very clean, the hosts left us a starter package of food and drinks (including wine!), they allowed pets, good location, lovely garden, cosy historic cottage
The heat could have been on when we arrived as the building was very cold.

This cottage is amazing. the little touches throughout made our stay fantastic! a beautiful, well kept garden for the doggies, dog bowls, towels etc…they love it!
We were welcomed with fresh produce, milk, orange juice, wine, bread etc every detail is thought of, from brand new toothbrushes & soft towel dressing gowns.
just lovely and welcoming in every way…
Suzanne has been amazing giving us a warm welcome, a lovely welcome pack and tips for places to walk the dogs & great places to eat. Nothing has been too much trouble & we really appreciated it.

Clear instructions on accessing the property.
A large saucepan would have been useful and maybe an oven proof dish
4.7
Friendliness of the hosts, comfort and homely feel of the cottage, attention to detail, above and beyond with personal touches and extensive welcome pack.
Hosts made a lot of effort to accommodate a cot into the small bedroom for our granddaughter, which was much appreciated.

The house is situated in a quaint little village. Everything you need shop, butchers etc
The house had everything you need to cater for yourself includes toilet rolls, washing up liquid, detergent, nothing was missed.
Did not have to rush out to the shop for essential, milk, coffee, bread, butter, jam etc
The house was immaculately clean and all beds had comfortable mattresses and perfect bedding.
The shower was perfect and towels were supplied
Suzanne the host kept in constant contact to ensure our stay was hassle free
