Lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for you and the breakfast was lovely and it was very clean everywhere.

The room we had was tired and old!!! The bed was awful!! Two nights of poor sleep !!.. and we had to be contortionist to make a cup of tea in a small slit in the wall which housed a kettle and cups etc and we had no iron or ironing board and no hairdryer and had to ask for all of these things. And we had a tv which was fine but we couldn’t look for Chanel’s on it as in a menu . The table under the tv had an awful chip out of it and warm and the chair looked 4th hand. and this was nearly £200 worth of room!? The only reason we paid less is because we regularly stay away and got Genius prices through booking .com with a small discount. The hotel itself where ever you looked was very clean but sooooo tired 😴 with the furniture in the bar area looking very tired and ingrained with stains. We didn’t take any photos as we didn’t want to waste our time. But the room was number 043 at the holiday in express on the a12 Colchester .

The range for breakfast was amazing . We had a few issues but they were dealt with straight away.

The sofa bed was the worst, most uncomfortable 2 nights ever. It was alot further than I thought. If it wasn't for the uncomfortable sofa bed it would of been near enough perfect.

Friendly helpful staff (although seem to be a little over stretched when busy), ideal location, bar and evening food ok and great breakfast.

*Sofa bed was made up when only 1 occupant in room and couldnt completely collapse it! *Noisy tv's in dining area. * Lack of writen instructions and advice in rooms

Friendly staff and breakfast was included. The bedroom was clean and we did enjoy our stay.

We had our dinner in the hotel restaurant and the waitress insisted the lambshank was pork belly. We didn't pursue further as she was adamant that she didn't serve a wrong order, however, we can clearly tell the difference between lambshank and pork belly.

the fact that the hotel was shut so after driving for 5 hours we had nowhere to stay very angry with booking . com i am waiting a refund for my costs 262£ plus my extra expenses wait ing to here from booking .com.

the hotel was in a great location for the wedding I was attending

it could do with a better sign at the entrance due to building works going on and some better lighting in the car park as very dark

The area, convenient to see other parts of the countryside! We saw quite a bit of it trying to find this hotel due to NO SIGNAGE!!

Lack of signage at the entrance,which is necessary as hotel is out of sight,referring this to the reception staff they just laughed!! No food available at lunch time!Little choice at breakfast! Evening dinner..fast food at its worst,and cleanliness of tables..lacking!Overall the attitude of staff was flippant,careless which needs urgently addressing!!D

great location for visiting friends nearby, easy access from main routes.

It was very hot during the stay, the air conditioning system didnt seem to work at all, and was very noisy! We got a fan for the room to help overnight.

The breakfast was generous
