Big windows, porch, use of kitchen, quiet, great location

Very basic, not much charm

Owner local Costa Rican from Montezuma. Very sweet and accommodating. Helped us return our car. Access to the kitchen to cook or store food. Great value if traveling on a budget. Recommend:

No screens in windows (in room we stayed in anyways).

Perfect location close to one of the beaches and close to the center. Nice and quiet. I got a bigger room than I paid for, very spacious and comfortable. Nice and helpful staff.

3 identified improvements: 1. More lights in the garden would increase the feeling of safety. Right now it is quite dark in the big garden which has a not locked gate. With led lighting the electricity is not expensive. 2. More hooks in the rooms to hang up clothes and towels. Outside the washing line is often occupied. 3. If possible find a way to eleminate the few ants in the room even if they did not bother me much.

Very kind and friendly family, they only speak spanish - no english! But communication was still possible. They help you with everything! Beautiful garden and lovely animals! The beach is right outside the door! There is a small market in front of casa susen on saturdays

Very nice and clean. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. It's very close to the beach and the market and the owners are very friendly and always happy to help. We really enjoyed staying here.

That’s the first time I have to write such a bad review. I stayed one night at this place, and I couldn’t sleep at all. - First, the host was very unfriendly as I arrived. When I left next morning, not even a word from the host I met on the terrace. You pay and don’t even get a reply when you say goodbye. That’s definitely inacceptable. And I spoke in good Spanish, so we can’t even put that on a language barrier! No excuse to such a rude attitude. - Second, the house is dark, humid, with a shared ‘bathroom’. It’s actually just a toilet and a cold shower with a garden tube set up in the garage… - The room I got: humid, no window. Just a mosquito net, but with holes above. So, not very useful. Impossible to sleep because of the humidity. - The stairs: to access the house, you have to climb quite a few stairs with your luggage… of course, no help from anyone in the house. - I have no idea where the good reviews come from. This place is to avoid, definitely. I found a much better option 200 meters away right in the town centre. Cheaper, cleaner, with private bathroom. I don’t like posting such bad comments, but this one really was my first bad experience with a Booking reservation. In my opinion, an unacceptable and rude behaviour from the hosts. The price is way too high for such a room and poor amenities.

The location is amazing, the sound of the waves on the beach right out my bedroom door, close walk to the main part of town, friendly family, great hosts and internet was good. Will definitely stay again next trip

Casa Susen offers everything you need for short stay. The owners were super nice and helpfull with advises around the area.The kitchen has everything you need and is really clean. If you want to be close to the beach and Montezuma village center (2min walk), this place is perfect. Still it's far enough away to not be disturb by the music of the bars.

Perfect location to spend some nice days at the beach and enjoying the nature! Everyone was super friendly.

The common shower is very simple, and it was not clear whether the kitchen facilities could be used, but maybe I had misunderstood the Spanish.

I liked the location close to the beach and town and the views, you can see and hear the ocean, friendly staff.

It’s not hot water and after a rainy day I will love to, too humid the room smells and all the clothes got humidity. The cleaning lady just emptied the trash bin.

Casa Susen's greatest draw is its location, being that it's right on the beach and only a four-minute walk away from the downtown. By happenstance, the stretch of beach it's in front of happens to be the one that Zuma Tours's boats disembark from, which was convenient for my travel plans.

One must be warned that Casa Susen is very bare-bones. If you're a budget traveler who doesn't mind having no furniture, no hot water, and spotty Internet, this place would be ideal for you. I personally was looking for a little more in my hotel room, but I understand how this wouldn't be a problem for many Montezuma travelers.

Location is perfect, close to the beach and the city center. 😍🌊 The host was very welcoming, spending a lot of time explaining to us where to find everything and giving us all the tips to visit waterfalls, secret swimming holes, islands... 🏝The room is comfortable with a shelf and also a line to dry clothes, very handy !

There was a net on the big window to prevent insects from coming in. But above, there was a mural decoration opened to the outside, so bugs could actually still come in. It would be great to cover that one too 🙏🏻🕷🦟 Shower was cold 🥶 and the shower head was more like a hose

Location very near to beach, town, waterfalls. Tatiana made excellent dinner recommendation. Secure, gated parking. Good thing I hadn't been expecting much, from online pics. Probably fine, if you don't give a rat's...

Multiple buildings and no clear indication of reception. My 'kitchenette', not requested but assigned as a standard room, was dank, damp, gray concrete, corrugated metal and dark rafter ceilings, construction framework exposed on unfinished walls, kitchen (?) counters(?) and in storage areas. Lots!! of spidey-hidey-holes. Old curtains. NO effort made for aesthetics, strictly basic functionality. Overwhelming smell of bug spray. Used my mosquito net for fear of spiders, got no sleep at all. Left at daybreak.
