This was our first visit to Mexico and we can't wait to come back. The location and house designs made it feel like our own secluded jungle adventure. The breakfast was excellent! Everything was clean and comfortable.

The road getting in is a little rough, though it really just added to the adventure!

The brunch in the jungle was top notch as was waking up early with the birds and nature within the jungle. We had a fantastic stay and Quentin is an awesome host with great visions for his property.

The fans in the palapa were outdated and noisy for sleeping. Could definitely update those for a better nights sleep. Driveway is tough to navigate in a small car.

Awesome and clean rooms, breakfast, garden..perfect! And for sure Quentin has great recommendations for beaches etc. we really enjoyed our trip!

Yes, the street to the hotel is an adventure but totally worth it. :)

Quentin was a great host. He has created a really special place. A real spot where you can switch off and be in nature. The facilities were all good, and the homes are beautifully crafted.

The road was the only issue for us as we had a hire car. I would strongly recommend a 4x4 or car that has a good gap from the ground.

loved that it was a sustainable palapa in the sun-tropical forest, right in nature and remote from the business of a town, whilst only a few miles out. Quentin was a great host, gave us great recommendations of things to do and looked after us well.

The place is a whole concept of sustainability. For those of us who amazes that topic is definitely worth a visit. It was done with love and everything is linked as a system. I was concerned about the weather and being in a palapa without an a/c... this was no issue. Breakfast and the breakfast juices are awesome. Quentin is super flexible in every possible way so that makes the stay nice and easy. Loved the bathroom.

Having the outside humidity also in the inside was challenge for me. Some people commented on the road to the place. We do not think it is as bad as described. Yes I was glad I saw the underground also before so much rain dropped, but the road is ok, even after thr rain. We had a small rented car and it was no problem.

A unique and exceptional place to stay if you want to experience a different side of Tulum in an off grid jungle setting. It is very peaceful living in the naturally ventilated Palapyas amongst the Jungle fauna, just a few other guests and the friendly host. An unforgettable experience.

Great spot with jungle feeling very close to Tulum. Rooms are great and well decorated Host Quentin and his helpers are nice people who care about their place and the guests. Would love to go back!

Quentin is the best! Definitely opt in for all of the breakfast! Everything exceeded our expectations at every turn!! Take EVERY recommendation he gives you.

It was truly amazing! Everything is great. Quentin was super helpful. He was friendly and knowledgeable. The outdoor kitchen is amazing and the accommodations in the jungle are great.

I loved our little cottage in the jungle. we were lucky to get the cottage with a detached kitchen. Everything we needed was available. there was good privacy, low noise level, nice jungle gardens and even chicken and pigs to help 8n composting. Quentin is a great communicator, super laid back host but knows what is needed to make our stay fantastic. Even beach towels were available.

The road that leads to the property was very uneven and slow going. we needed to go very slowly.

Absolutely, positively loved everything and I'm not being extra, there was nothing to complain about. Staying at Meli Melo is an experience that cannot be understated, from the natual surroundings, we felt so connected to the Earth, to life and to each other as a family that we didnt want to leave. Quentin is such a wonderful host that you feel as if he's your neighbor from across the street. Lol. The breakfast was amazing, it hits every single taste bud and leaves you with a sense of awe that you cannot imagine. As much as I'd love to keep this treasure to myself, this place deserves recognition for its beauty, its seclusion and charm. You will not be disappointed going to this Splendeferous Oasis.

Location was amazing, right across the street from Grand Cenote and far enough North from Tulum to be quiet and secluded.

The owner is a French guy that really love and believe in what he do. At the property, we could see that everything works right with our planet. Every practice is sustainable, food is really delicious and natural, the accomodations are peaceful and well cleaned, and I swear that it was a long time ago that I couldn’t sleep so well! Wish we could spend more days in there. It’s just a little spot out from the crazy Tulum.

We absolutely loved everything about this place: from the beautiful location to the self-sustaining, minimal-impact ethos to our warm, generous, incredibly knowledgeable and friendly host Quentin, along with his lovely staff member Jaime. The food was fresh, delicious, and unique every day. This was the last place we stayed in a week of traveling around Yucatan and Quintana Roo, and it was a highlight for all of us, especially our young children, who were as happy walking through the jungle as they were playing at the onsite playground, swimming in the pool, or feeding the pigs, ducks, and chickens. Many reviews here criticize the rough dirt road leading to Meli-Melo. We actually thought it was a plus: it really helped us feel we were getting well off the beaten track (literally and figuratively); although the lodgings are not very far from the tourist-overrun Tulum town center, they could not have felt more remote. The road may look daunting, but fortune favors the bold! More importantly, aside from a little mud there was no effect on our rental car whatsoever. We've driven on far worse roads that this one, in Mexico and elsewhere.

No complaints at all. Our only regret was that our travel plans did not permit us to stay longer!

Beautiful rooms in idyllic surrounds with practical well equipped kitchen on site for use. Unfortunately we were sick after the travelling and didn't make great use of the area but was a great place to relax. I have spent past 3 months sleeping in roof tent in Ireland and adore the fresh air and view while in bed.

When pump stopped going (I believe) for water I could flush toilet some but not wash my hands after in the accommodation I stayed in.

Awesome location in the jungle and still close to Tulum. Great facilities with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The host was so nice and helpful. Can only recommend.

Awesome palapa. Birdsong in the morning, peace and quiet, food for the soul! A true jungle retreat. Quentin was an amazing host and so passionate about sustainability and living off the grid. If this is your scene, don’t hesitate…you will love it.

Great location but a car, scooter or bicycle is essential to appreciate this beautiful location. A small price for this beautiful place.

Quentin is extremely welcoming,friendly and helpful and he has built an incredible place out in the jungle. The accommodation is comfortable and very romantic. The Wi-Fi is good and the facilities are great. The kitchen in particular is an amazing place to russle up a delicious meal and eat inside or out if that is something that takes your fancy.

There was nothing we did not like, but it goes without saying that you will need some sort of transport if you want to come and go. But we could have easily stayed a couple of days without leaving !

This place is absolutely AMAZING. And the owner is great. We (family of four) loved everything about this place. It's a little paradise on Earth. Quentin is also a beautiful soul with the vision. He gives his guests a space, so you feel very comfortable in being there and sharing space in common areas like the kitchen, pool, fire place area, playground. He is also great person to have a chat with. It's a perfect place to recharge your batteries and relax. So much beautiful nature around. It was by far one of the best places we have ever stayed in. The whole stay and experience have been so inspiring.

This property is beautiful. It really felt like we where in the jungle. The design of the owners property is beautiful. His restrooms, the natural trees inside the bathrooms, the hammocks in the rooms, the design of the rooms, the trail, the kitchen all beautiful. I wish we would of had more time to enjoy his place but the few time we stayed there was so peaceful. The owner was so nice as well. He lives on the property, but he gave us enough privacy to enjoy and was very helpful. I would love to go back and enjoy the place. You can hear all kinds of animals, and he has pigs and chickens on the property as well. I tell you so peaceful

The road to get to the location is not good at all. Either you start renting 4 wheelers to get your guest to the property or the owner and the neighbors should pitch in to fix that road. The road to get to the property is like a 15 minute drive but with horrible pot holes. You have to literally drive like 1-2 miles or you will damage your car. And if there is another car coming the opposite direction it is very challenging. This is something that I think all of the people living down that road should fix. Going in and out of that property was NOT fun!

We loved everything about the property which is huge, the jungle we were in, Quentin the owner that is lovely and a super Chef, the black cat and the breakfast which is absolutely fantastic and very fresh every day a new dish. Quentin told us secrets of the places we should see and where to eat from vegetarian food to beef steaks. We took all his advices and went also to all the cenotes he told us to go and it was genius! We would definitely come back there again. This is a place with no windows just mosquito nets and you can hear the birds wake up at 7.00 am and sing beautifully.
