This hotel is set in superb jungle location. The rooms are beautifully decorated with forest themes and are immaculately clean and very comfortable. The food is excellent and served in an open air dining room which, like the bedrooms, is decorated in a unique jungle style. Purple sun birds took the nectar from the flowers which were growing inside the dining room. What a wonderful accompaniment to breakfast! All the meals are outstanding. Congratulations to the chef! Eranga is the manager and went out of his way to make our stay so enjoyable. He arranged our safari to Yala in the morning and made sure we had an exceptionally experienced driver - then again the afternoon with the same driver to Bundala. Our driver arranged for the best guide we could possibly have ever had in Bundala. Bundala has an amazing variety of birds and a good guide is a must. Eranga can arrange this for you. The swimming pool at Kele is also good and the gardens very interesting with a variety of trees, shrubs, flowers and wild life. Being wifi free made Kele even more peaceful.

Eranga and staff provide exceptional service. They made our stay very comfortable. He arranged our safaris into Yala NP with a great driver. The food was great - always checking with us to make sure he was providing meals to our taste.

Wow! Exceptional property with exceptional staff. It was a delight to stay at this wonderful property located in the Sri Lankan jungle, very close to Yala National Park. We had breakfast and dinner included, and the food was amazing. Thanks a lot for the entire staff for the excellent service. We will miss you all, but we hope we will meet again. Thanks also for the safari guide. We were very lucky to see a leopard at about 5 to 10 metres from us. We recommend this property for everyone who enjoys untamed Sri Lanka! 1000 thanks!!!

Everything. Use the park entrance close to the hotel, not the main one, it is not crowded. The safari organized by the property was very good.

Road to the property is not suitable for low cars, the property should be more clear about that. In any case, they immediately sent a tuk-tuk.

Great room, comfortable bed, good breakfast

I have no idea why there's a "Yala" in the name of this hotel on booking.com. In the Google Map, it's just Kele Resort. Most probably, to confuse tourists. I booked the hotel being sure it's close to Yala national park entrance. However, it turned out the hotel is located quite far from the entrance (25-30 minutes by car). Even more, it's not easy to reach this hotel. The property informed me I had to come to Kataragama city and went 3 km on foot along a forest road. And they did it only when I asked them in PM. Actually, I was shocked because it was already dark. Also, I would like to notice there is no WiFi in the rooms. I understand that it's such a concept of this hotel but I believe it isn't a good idea nowadays. And I'm pretty sure the property must add all this information in the "IMPORTANT INFORMATION" block since it's the only place which is read by customers thoroughly. Finally, I don't like a shower here. It looks unusual but the usability isn't good enough.

Very nice hotel, clean pool, clean room with lot of amenities. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The food is spectacular: I recomend, at least, to dinner there to eat the good menu they serve. We booked with them a private safary and they took care of everything. I highly recommend this hotel

We loved our stay at Kele the staff here went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. A special shout out to the chefs who made us the best Sri Lankan food we had on our whole stay, making Roti in front of you. Our safari and the driver provided were incredible resulting in us spotting 3 Leopards!! would highly recommend.

Everything, room immaculate, great amenities, wonderful meals, fantastic caring staff. A total package for an exiting stay very close to Yala. The Jeep safari organised with Kele was an amazing experience and the best safari we have ever done, extremely well organised and saw elephants, crocodiles, peacocks, other birds (so many), deer, monitor lizards, monkeys, wild boar, water buffalo, and privileged to have a leopard walk right alongside us. Thanks Vasantha for the most amazing time!

Nothing could be done better

Everything! This little gem of a place was every thing I expected from Kele Yala. The place was lovely, left you feeling relaxed and totally isolated in a safe and lush environment. Staff were attentive, informative and helpful. Vasantha was a perfect host and guide on our safari. The safari was included in our all inclusive, so no worries there to book else where. Loved, loved the safari although we did not see a leopard (just bad luck) we were happy. Our room accommodation was super clean and again everything I expected and more. Food was a set menu and was delicious. Made us feel special, with a beautiful candle lit dinner under the stars on one night. The pool was a lovely cooling added touch. We couldn’t ask for more. Thank you Vasantha and Kele Yala.
