Great location, TERRIBLE otherwise, dirty, insects, out of code, things not as offered! Master shower wouldn't shut off initially nor drain! Shower on 1st floor bedroom has a hole in the ceiling that is leaking into it from bath above, the second master bathroom toilet seat falling off, smoke detector in 2ndfloor bedroom missing and wires hanging out of ceiling, same bed bathroom shower window does not close and has no screen, insects are getting in house (moths ants flies found throughout house), 2nd floor bedroom shower has 1 glass sliding door that doesn't function and has a shower curtain in place of missing other door, numerous lights throughout house either not functioning or have burnt out bulbs (at least one in every room several in most), both outside grills are not functioning, carpet stained throughout house, master bedroom balcony has visible mold throughout and patio furniture visibly moldy, windows and treatments throughout house not functioning properly (not unable to open or close), patio doors rotted around frame and show signs of insect damage, ants in kitchen, Mold on ceiling in entryway, musty smell everywhere, Master has light fixture above tub/out of code. Worn dated, unkempt. Contacted landlord rep who was responsive at first when we feared flood from shower not draining or shutting off, promised to fix then just ghosted us. Not even a customary sorry we're not going to do anything call. Can not and do not recommend.

Home was aged in decor but beautiful at the same time. The moment I walked in it reminded me of my grandmothers. The stay was good all the way around. Quiet neighborhood, plenty of parking, close to things and we even walked to the water (drove back because it is uphill). Everything worked and the layout was nice.

The home was in a beautiful neighborhood, walking distance from the beach. We felt safe. It was easy to get to San Juan Capistrano and other destinations for food and other activities. The property was clean and the property manager was very nice and very helpful. VRBO does need to update the bathroom situation on the website, as it says a 1/2 bath for 5 bedrooms, and there were several full baths. I hope they will correct this throughout the description of the property.

This is a wonderful, big house. Lots of rooms and bathrooms so we could all spread out- Barbara was very available for check in and questions. KItchen well appointed with great space. Several areas could use more TLC, like showers and new lightbulbs. Good location and beautiful view!

The location was great! Very spacious and nice to have a bathroom for every bedroom. The interior was nice, but the exterior was showing wear. Had problems with opening and closing a number of the windows and also problems with manipulating a number of the blinds. The beds were comfortable. The discounted price made it worth it. We would stay here again.

The home was perfect in the number of bedrooms and bathrooms for three families. The location was great.

I would say that the house was in a great location and accommodated our large group easily. It was an ideal spot to get together because it was near to the wedding we were attending. However, I don’t believe the owner or manager has stayed in the house for a long time because not only could it use a deep clean but it needs to be better maintained. I’m not saying that the house wasn’t clean because housekeeping did a good job but the cabinets, shelves and closets could be decluttered. There was stains on the carpet, walls that needed to be touched up and windows and blinds that needed to be fixed. The master bedroom only had lights next to the bed so at night the room was quite dark (when we were trying to pack up for an early departure). The master shower did not have a soap dish, rack or any way to hold a bar of soap, shampoo or anything. Plus the water pressure was quite low and either very cold or quite hot….changing throughout the shower even when I wasn’t touching it. I will say the kitchen was fully stocked and the backyard was quite lovely. With a little love and attention, this house could be a great rental property!

This house is in a great neighborhood but is in need of some upkeep. Check in requires you to track down to the house manager upon arrival, the garage is filled with old furniture and supplies, they furnace didn't work and required us to put the unit back together and replace the batteries in the thermostat. The view from the upper bedroom balcony is fantastic.

The owner admitted that there had been a flood to the property in early April 2023, just weeks before our reservation. Upon entering the property on April 26, 2023 we were hit with the odor of mold and mildew and it appeared the cleaning was not complete due to unmade beds, dishes in the dishwasher and leaves/dirt at entrance doors. The property was unsecured as well due to open doors and windows. The property was touted as "Luxury" which was an untrue statement.
Communication with the owner and VRBO has only made this experience worse, a true nightmare.

We were a family group of nine on holiday in Dana Point from the UK. We had a wonderful time staying at this spacious and well equipped home, everyone had their own area to relax. There are also great entertainment areas inside and out. We loved walking down to the harbour at Dana Point and the easy proximity by car into Laguna and Newport. We loved it and hope to be back!

Great location and Beautiful house
We had a wonderful time here. The house was very clean, well organized and well stocked. We were all adults traveling for a family reunion so the private bedrooms and bathrooms were ideal. Be careful for the step down into the living room, we all tripped a few times. The outside space is so relaxing and a great place to hangout as a group. Barbara was a peach and very responsive to a repair to the Wi-Fi that needed to be made.

Perfect location
We had our son's wedding at the Dana Point Yacht Club and this house was the perfect location for us. The house is close to go to the Harbor, Ritz and all that Dana Point has to offer. I expected the condition of the home to be just okay based on previous reviews. It is a dated house in furniture and decor that shows its wear and tear but mostly clean and doable. There is a step down into the living room that is dangerous because the flooring is all the same and you can't see the difference in levels quickly enough. We had my elderly father fall even though he knew the level difference but it's just a bit hard to see. We got lucky and father is okay but be careful. Overall for us, it was great because of all the rooms and location.

Nice location to Beach/ Large accommodations
So there were NO surprises staying at this property. I knew going into this home that the furniture was dated by photos and reviews and I was okay with that because we literally slept, had breakfast daily and left for the entire day. I LOVED the fact it's just a half mile to the beach and it was close to my daughter's house. I talked to Barbara (the owner, who is great and very prompt in getting back to you), and I told her about my biggest disappointment. I don't suspect Barbara had been to the house in a long while. The carpets are really very dirty. The rest of the house was clean, but it was very disturbing because they were really soiled badly. She said she would look into having them done. Her cleaning woman or property manager should have informed her at how badly stained they are throughout the house. Also, it's important to get new pillows every now and then. The ones in the home were broken down foam rubber pillows. My suggestion to anyone staying here bring your own pillows. Other than those two things, the accommodations were very good in regards to having everything you might need in a home, great location, and responsive owner.

Lovely home in Paradise location
Barbara was very easy ideal with and very accommodating. The house is huge and well laid out. It is a little dated in terms of decor, but that didn't affect our stay. There were plenty of towels and kitchen items. Overall a great stay! Would definitely recommend.

Nice place, great people
My family needed a house for about a week for out of town wedding guests and could not be happier with this property or the management team that assisted us during our stay. Patty is awesome and really made us feel at home. The property owner was very helpful early on in the process and very accommodating. The house was immaculate and had all of the features we were looking for. Happy to recommend this one.

I have to say the owner and her family were very helpful and supportive. The house is large and accommodating. The back yard is perfect for hanging out and chatting in the evening. The view from the master bedroom patio was an extra. If you are going to visit be prepared for the parking, there is room for two cars as stated and street parking can be an issue, so just plan accordingly. The home definitely is large enough to take 5 couples easily and you dont feel crowded. The downstairs bedroom is more like an office with a twin trundle but it does have its own bathroom. The furnishing were comfortable and a plenty for our crowd. The location is very nice, close enough to the harbor and the down town strip but far enough away to avoid crowds and traffic. The only issues encountered were ants, lots o ants, they tried to consume the coffee maker. There was no ice maker and the lower oven didnt work. Apparently some of the previous guests did not behave well and might have broken some items. I guess you cant control all your guests. If you have a large party this is the right place for you, I would definitely go back.

Barbara, the owner of the house was very pleasant and responded quickly to emails and text! Her manager Patty was also attentive and tried to address our needs to the best of her ability. The home in general was lovely and had a wonderful floor plan for our family gathering. Having rented over a dozen different homes in the past few years, we were a little frustrated with some of the accommodations. This property needed an overall deep cleaning. The windows and shelves had spider webs and dust. Dirt and grime were in the corners along the floors. Even some pieces of glass were found along the kitchen floor where we had crawling babies. Under the kitchen sink were sponges and rags used by prior tenants. Cleaning supplies were locked up and we had to request a few items for some cleaning needs. In most other home rentals, a new sponge, basic cleaners, cleaning tools, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. were provided and proportioned according to the length of stay. The home also needed pest control. We killed several spiders and ants were everywhere. Ants crawled out of outlets, plumbing and along the baseboards in bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. In one bedroom, ants had infiltrated a suitcase. Because the home is older, it needs a maintenance overhaul. If someone showered in one of the bathrooms upstairs, water came through the ceiling into the downstairs bathroom. Also, one of the bathroom faucets was disconnected to the sink and the towel rack was pulled off of the wall. The twin mattress in the 5th bedroom had old springs and we chose to sleep on the couch instead of sleeping on the twin bed. The fridge ice-maker was broken. In a previous property review, a tenant over a year ago mentioned the broken ice-maker and so it appears that it has not yet been repaired. The dishwasher also broke while we were there. Due to an electrical component, the dishwasher beeped like a smoke detector even with the power disconnected. It took almost two days to find someone who could turn off the beeping.Just note that the wifi is not high speed. If you have important business to take care of, plan accordingly. Also, the televisions in the bedrooms are small and ancient. All technology could use an update.Despite some of the issues with the house, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There are many wonderful amenities such as the backyard, built-in BBQ grill, comfortable family room, well-stocked kitchen, six bathrooms, and nice washer and dryer.

Beautiful! Spacious. Housed our family reunion perfectly!
It was like a hotel with a common kitchen, dining room, TV room, and backyard. Each bedroom, 5 of them, had its own bathroom. Perfect for out family size. We had a lot of fun in our own private place!

Came out for a wedding in the area and needed enough room for 12 people. The Villa was perfect; it had plenty of space, was clean and close to the beach and bars. Barbara was available to answer any questions. Would highly recommend

Nice spacious house for our large family.
We loved the location the house was big for our large family. Their were a few things that didn't work and needed to be fixed like the outdoor fireplace and the ice maker in the freezer. But we had a really great time and enjoyed our stay.

Great place
Barbara the owner of the house was very nice! The place was exactly what I was needing for this special celebration with my family. We had the best time. The only downfall is that you couldn't go outside late or the neighbors call the cops.

Beautiful, comfortable, near the beach.
We feel at home in this large, beautifully furnished, and comfortable home. We enjoyed our stay very much.
* Beds are very comfortable with quality linens.
* Kitchen is very well-equipped, even have spices and oil so we did not have to buy for a few days stay
* Have plenty of books, DVDs, board games, for entertainment. A very nice touch!

Dana Point Experience
Barb, we wanted to thank you for the great time we had at your place. We were first time VRBO users and found the experience to be very positive. The house was just as we expected. It contained all that we needed including kitchen supplies, towels and the gas grill. We enjoyed the house for 7 delightful days. Thanks for being easy to get a hold of if needed and for the up keeping of your beautiful house. Take care and if we are in the area again, we will certainly be calling.

Very disappointing
The home is in a great location but it needed a good cleaning and the A/C did not work in 3 of the bedrooms. Towels were older and thin, ice maker did not work and I had to wash bowls and dishes that were not clean. I also have not received my deposit back and we spent money to fix a door handle on the master bedroom after we got locked in twice because the lock was broken was broken.

Had a wonderful time
We gathered a this wonderful villa for the reunion of friends from college (40 years ago). It was beautiful and had everything that we needed. We tend to plan and cook meals together when we meet and the kitchen was fully stocked with all of the pots/pans/utensils that we needed. Even barbecue skewers for kabobs. It is in a very quiet neighborhood on the top of the hill, most of us jogged or biked down to Dana Harbor in the mornings. Another truly wonderful feature was that all four bedrooms had their own bathroom, perfect for couples gathering. We would highly recommend this property.

Fabulous home and visit
The house was lovely and well suited for our family. We enjoyed the Dana Point harbor for walking and ate at two restaurants on the harbor.
Would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives.
