The place was cozy and the location was central to the main attractions of the golden circle.

We wanted to see the lake but there was no easy way to get there.

The kitchen is tiny, with only one stovetop, one small pot, and one pan, making it very troublesome to prepare a meal. The bathroom only has a shower head, making it impossible to shower small children. In addition, in the summer months, there are tiny biting flies, so windows should be closed from evening to morning (according to the Host). Without proper ventilation inside the cottage, the cottage turns into a steam bath on sunny days

Beautiful, comfortable cottage in wonderful surroundings. It had everything we needed and was cosy. I loved sitting and looking out of the windows in the evening at the view.

The only small thing was the glass pane separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom, which didn't stop water from escaping. There was a helpful wiper to help try to mop it up.

Beautifully situated, beautifully designed, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated, plenty of self-catering facilities. A very classy accommodation.

This is going to sound petty, but it was far, far, far too warm. Stiflingly so. It must be all the glass. And the hosts - very kindly - warn guests about opening windows and doors in the evenings as tiny little biting midges will come in and feast on you during the night. They left loads of fans in the room to cool you down and ward off the midges, but it was still too warm. I ended up trying to organise that I was sleeping in a crosswind of fans, but it still took me ages to get to sleep. Pity, because it's lovely.

Great little cottage. It was close to a couple of restaurants and Fontana Baths. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfy. Nice quiet spot when travelling the Golden Circle.

I would have liked screens on the windows so they could be left open overnight.

Given how remote most of Iceland is, this turned out to be quite a convenient spot - just a few minutes from Laugarvatn.

I like to cook and was disappointed at how super-basic the kitchen was. But it wasn't advertised as a full kitchen, so that's partly on me. The outdoor grill, which was nice to have, was only partly functional.

Everything was perfect! The cottages are amazing! I had also a problem with the car and the owner of the cottages gave me a huge help!

Beautifully appointed with lots of thoughtful touches and well equipped. Comfy bed, amazing snowy sunrise views. Very helpful and friendly communication from the owners.

Wetroom style bathroom with no lip/bar to stop water and only a squeegee mop. It was very good but the design would be better with a lip/step. Towels a bit small (but well coordinated with the decor). There was a big snowstorm/gale when I stayed. it was cosy and snug but the drive down to the cottages is remote and wasn’t well cleared as I arrived with massive snowdrifts. A car skidded off it the second day and was being rescued. Had very nail biting trips each time I came and went as I was worried about getting back, or, being snowed in! It does look wonderful spot in the summer though-I was just unlucky

The 360 views of the natural scenery and distance away from any commercial setup. hence, area is dark enough for northern lights viewing.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage, its super clean and comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. We cooked a few meals at the cottage to save some money and there's a hot plate, microwave, toaster and kettle - it was perfect! The mattress was also the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. Truly a dream and it made our holiday in Iceland all the more magical, thank you so much!

Exceptional location, super cosy cottage, great fit for 2 persons enjoying each other company. Kitchen equipped very well, designed for simple warm partner dinners, great view from the windows, 2 nights out of 3 spent there with the northern lights. The cottage is very warm, it was a pleasure to return there in the evening from busy cold exploring days and start the morning with amazing sunrise view and frosty walk to the lake enjoying waking up nature. Bed is super comfortable, had perfect sleep there!

Cute size, well equipped cottage for a night stay. Located 1hr 20mins from Reykjavik, 1/2 hour from Thingvellir National park. Shame we didn’t get to see the northern lights due to bad weather but this location would be perfect for that as it’s near a lake.

Nothing. It’s a 20-30mins drive to the nearest cafe/restaurant - so I’d suggest to pack some items to cook as there’s a functional kitchen.
