We had a nice 3 night stay at Anata Riad in the Orange room. The room size was good and the quality of the bed, bed linens and towels superb. The staff (especially Simo Mohammed and chef 🤩 Sameera) were very helpful!
There is some wear and tear and therefore the price quality ratio is a bit too steep. Rooftop was a bit too full and therefore could be improved. Also the choice at breakfast could be a bit better.
Please note they don’t accept cards, so for the food, tourist tax and laundry, they’ll charge you in cash. If you’re paying with Euro, the conversion rate is 10 to 1 instead of 11 to 1.
We don’t recommend to let the riad organise the tour guide. We had Shariza who turned up half an hour late, so that was not a good start. She was rude, didn’t listen to our wishes, forced us into several shops and even a restaurant. It was more like a very expensive Souk tour, a rip off and a waste of our precious time in Fèz.

From the first minute of arrival, I knew we were in a special place. Very jet lagged, falling out of a cab after a 3 hr train trip from Casablanca, Sameera greeted us warmly, let us switch rooms, gave us tea and cookies on the pretty roof with views over the medina. Our rooms were beautiful, the beds delightful, the bathrooms well designed and immaculate. The location of the Riad is perfect, an easy walk anywhere in the medina, but in a quiet corner. Said served dinner and breakfast (both delicious) with grace and a twinkle. He helped us arrange overnight parking for our rental car and also provided us with a breakfast for the road when we left at 5am! The Riad felt like our home. It was a perfect place to land in Fez! (And did I mention how fantastic the lamb tagine was . . . and the moroccan crepes . . . and the handmade jams and preserves . . . and the ORANGE CAKE . . . still dreaming about Sameera's orange cake)
Absolutely nothing.

The staff were so warm and welcoming and it felt like a family. Thank you to Mohammad, Samira and Said especially. The room was beautiful and clean, breakfast was lovely. They made us mint tea and provided us with water whenever we needed it free of charge. They also gave my friend a gift for her birthday. In the bathroom they have the most amazing smelling shampoo, shower gel and soap along with some Moroccan black soap which was such a nice touch. The location is excellent and right in the medina, so close to everything. It is also a short few minutes walk to the fountain where you can find taxis. Beautiful riad run by beautiful people.

It was quiet and comfortable. The room was exceptionally lovely! Beautiful decorative elements: arched windows with shutters and iron grills, lush fabrics, tasteful lighting, Venetian plaster walls, etc. The staff, Simo and Said were gracious and professional.
A bit more pricey by local standards.

Everything! Great location, right in the heart of the Medina. Room is very exquisite with thoughtful designs and special shampoo and shower gel made by the hotel. Our room has the famous window which you can open and sit at the edge- very instagrammable. Staff is absolutely amazing. Very friendly and tried their very best to accommodate all our requests. Housekeeper Said prepared very nice breakfast for us every morning. Hotel also helped arrange someone to take our luggage and us in and out of the Medina, no trouble going to the car at all.
Nothing. Wish I could stay longer.

This hotel is more modern than others in town but still with a distinct Moroccan touch. Location is great, breakfast is good and the staff is very nice. We stayed in the red room which was spacious and well decorated. Bed was super comfy and loved the soaps.
Shower could be warmer but this seems to be a theme across Morocco.

The interior of the room was nice
Our room was located right near to the common area and it wasn't soundproof, so it could get noisy.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Anata with the luxury of being the only guests at the time. We were at the tail end of an adventurous couple of weeks and the rooftop was a perfect (and very picturesque) place to catch our breath. It has an ideal location with ready access to sites and the rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable with air conditioning and wi-fi access. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Perhaps the highlight for us was the incredible food! We opted to stay in to eat as the smell during the day of fresh food being cooked on site from the beautiful kitchen was too difficult to ignore. It didn't disappoint. Highly recommend

Location! Beautifully decorated. The staff were very attentive. Breakfast was fabulous and we can highly recommend the cooking class!
Toiletries in the bathroom were divine!
Driving directions we were given prior to arrival had us ending up a long way from where we needed to be!

Saïd was the best maitre d'hotel :) Very nice service and great food! The best meals we've had so far were at Riad Anata. I am going to remember this chicken pastilla for a long time :)

Good location, clean room, comfortable bed, rooftop probably nice in summer.
You can stay somewhere really luxurious in Fes for the price we were paying, so we were very disappointed and moved to a nicer Riad.
Breakfast is served year-round on the roof terrace, which I'm sure must be lovely in warm weather, but we were there in January, during torrential rain. This meant getting wet while climbing up slippery outdoor steps to the roof terrace, and as we were outdoors, we had to eat breakfast wearing our coats. Bearable, perhaps, in a youth hostel, but not when paying top prices.
There was a fireplace in the living area that was never lit.
When we checked out, the manager tried to charge us an extra 50% of our total bill. The bill was in dirhams, so luckily, we noticed. It then took a long time to sort out, ostensibly because of a bad Internet connection. I'd therefore advise anyone staying at Riad Anata to settle up well in advance of leaving - if we'd been rushing to catch a flight, we might not have noticed the discrepancy or had time to sort it out.

The place itself is very nice and clean. Top notch riad of all the places I have seen. The plush curtains and doors is something I will remember for a long time. Furthermore, the bathroom was clean with very nice orange based hand wash and soaps.
May be more heat in common area.

The Riad is charming. I went with a group of friends and we took up the entire Riad. Everyone loved their time there, the rooms were charming, the rooftop is nice, staff were friendly, breakfast was delicious. The location of the Riad also made it easy to get to since we were traveling by van to and from other cities. And it was easy to find (which is not something I can say for other riads in Fes I’ve stayed at!). Half of our group got food poisoning one day and the staff were extremely accommodating to our needs. Thank you for the lovely stay!
Some rooms were on the smaller side although that is still average for riads in Morocco.
