The property was outstanding as advertised with great views; direct access to a fairly large "pond"/"lake" and swimming pool. The pool could use a handrail on the steps as the last step in and first step out is taller than normal and difficult for "older people" to get out of the pool. The owner was gracious; responded quickly to very minor calls for questions. The onlh drawback is the house is not HC friendly with steps up or down into virtually every room. Franky, it shows on the pictures but I did not scrutinize it sufficientluy to understand that. All in all, I would recommend the Long House with 4+ stars for groups of friends (5 BR) or a family.

As soon as you turn down the driveway, it feels like you're driving to a winery. Instead you pull up to this gorgeous property. You have to stop to just to take it all in. The lake, the home, the grounds, the overall setting is stunning. It feels like you're in a whole other world. I threw a surprise 40th birthday party & had about 30 guests attend. There was more than enough space throughout the manor as well as multiple places for people to mingle & sit outside & take in the beauty of it all. My fiance & I, plus 2 other couples stayed Friday & Saturday but several others could have stayed in the manor or RV on the grounds & nobody would feel on top each other. Every single person who attended the party was amazed at the space & beauty of all that it entailed & had rave reviews. Several couples ended up getting the VRBO information and said they will be booking this place for events & just a weekend getaway. The band said in all their years, they've never played in a space that gorgeous. I found a hidden gem by accident & will be making this an annual event to spend w/friends & family, & I'm telling everyone about the experience we had. Donna was amazing.I asked if I could take a look at the property before the party so I could get ideas for band placement, where the bartender would be setup, etc.& Donna graciously abided. Amazing memories were made. Thank you Donna for opening up your home for so many others to enjoy. Hands down, greatest experience ever. EPIC!

We had 5 couples and this was the perfect place for it. Plenty of space and tons of privacy. Donna was extremely responsive and very accommodating. There aren’t many properties like this one!

This property exceeded expectations. Both the kids and parents had a fantastic time! The kiddos barely touched an electronic device and instead swam,fished, kayaked, or played games. The views are also spectacular! Would highly recommend!

First annual family vacation to celebrate parents wedding anniversary. Siblings travelled in from 3 different states. Listing included incorrect access and Wi-Fi code but was quickly remedied after contacting host. Wifi and cell service are spotty in the area (great if you’re trying to disconnect, not so great if you need to get some work done). It was great to have the pool and pond- kids and adults enjoyed swimming, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Bedrooms are small (aside from the master) which made it a bit challenging for those of us with young kids. Otherwise there were mattresses available to put in other living area for the older kids. Loved having the laundry available, only had one load to do when I got home! Lots of other amenities included. The kitchen is small which created some difficulty cooking for a large group. There is plenty of dining area and also outdoor seating- wear bug spray! If our family is able to get everybody together again next year we would definitely consider this place. Thanks Donna!

As advertised, the property is well located, beautiful views, peaceful and quiet. The owner, Donna responded very quickly to our questions and made the check in process very easy. She even offered us to use the game room for free as a birthday present. She seemed very nice, even though we did not meet her. However, When we arrived, the dishwasher was fully loaded with dishes that had grown mold on them. I tried to turn it on, but it was not working. I texted Donna and she told me that it should be working. She sent instructions, but it still did not work. We gave up. There were also spiders and dead bugs in the house and under the beds. I suspect we were the first renters of the year. As soon as we arrived, we had to hose the boats down and we had to beat the outdoor cushions for bugs and dust. Otherwise the house is well equipped, even though outdated. There was a lack of curtains in the bedrooms, but we invested in a few sleep masks and made it work. I usually do not give reviews, but I was very disappointed with the work we had to do as soon as we arrived to make the place look clean before the rest of the family showed up. I will admit though that after the initial workload, we did enjoy our stay: we fished, saw turtles, hiked, swam, kayaked and canoed...the connection with nature is amazing and we really enjoyed it. Even though the yard and landscaping are beautiful, I feel our stay could have been better, if we had not felt that initial disappointment

I can’t express enough how much we enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, tranquil, and sitting and watching the geese fly over the private lake was exactly what we were looking for. Add to that we caught lots of fish in the private lake. Donna was perhaps the best host that we’ve ever experienced on VRBO and we have been renting for many years. She was incredibly responsive and caring. The house was beautiful and well equipped. Without a doubt we would go back, but perhaps during the summer months when all the trees are in full bloom.

Fabulous. Simply fabulous. I do wish the pool heater had been working, but everything else was great. Fantastic setting, generous, well equipped kitchen, IN-TUNE piano, lots of room to dance, sing and party inside, and out! We had a caterer bring out dinner, and after a LATE night, clean up was a breeze. Can't wait for a reason to go back!!

A wonderful stay in an awesome location!

This home has lots of relaxing space with a beautiful view from almost everywhere inside & out. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the outside space was so inviting.

This place is incredibly private and beautiful. Being able to fish in a lake while sitting five feet from the pool was awesome. Donna, the property manager was great to work with. If the location and price works for you, book it! You won’t regret it.

Gorgeous setting on lake and among grassy acreage and trees. Beautiful home, lovely pool and landscaping and magical setting. Exceeded our expectations in every way! Weather was the wild card and we won! Gorgeous views from within the house, a ding room table and beautiful china for our group of 10 plus and wonderful beds, soft sheets, comfy mattresses for the full great experience! Would love to do this again!

We had a wonderful stay! The property manager, Donna, was amazingly accommodating! We very much enjoyed the pool and lake, spent most of our time outside enjoying the beautiful space.

I try to hit on things I look for in a review. Donna is a wonderful property owner. She communicates in a timely fashion and is very kind. We couldn’t get the grill to work and they came right out to help. The view is the best part by far. I could sit out there for hours/days. The lake and the pool are spectacular!!! We had so much fun in the pool with a lake view. Our dog enjoyed exploring the property and going on hikes. The access to kayaks and a paddle boat are a great touch. The views from both master bedrooms are amazing. There is not a shower (a tub only) on the lower level so just be sure and pay attention to the lay out, if renting with others. There are two showers upstairs. The water pressure was good so great showers and no issues w flushing. The house has a unique feel and design which was fun. It’s older so don’t expect everything to be brand new. It’s lived in but honestly that’s part of the charm and less stressful in a way so you aren’t worried about messing something up the whole time. Access to cable tv (directv) downstairs and in the bedrooms was nice. The AC works well which is important since we do have some hot summers. The beds were super comfy. Beach towels and bath towels were provided. A water cooler was also in the kitchen since the fridge doesn’t have a water dispenser. Even when it rained and we couldn’t swim the views from inside looking out were peaceful, relaxing, & enjoyable. This is a place you want to share with others. I can’t say enough about our experience. It’s very private and you feel like you are in your own little paradise. We do hope to go back! Honestly the VRBO pictures don’t do the outside justice. You must see this for yourself!

There was so much to do with the swimming pool and the lake. Kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, trails… There was so much privacy on the 50 acres. No worries about the neighbors. The house was very open and unique. We had such a wonderful time!!!!

We take a family vacation every year and we were very happy to find this gem. The lake was great, clean (for a lake) and the set up with the pool and the outdoor area was just what we wanted. Lots of space for all 12 of us.

What an outstanding property! Our family spent most of the week alternating between the lake and the pool. While the well stocked kitchen is small, it is also very efficient. My favorite part of the property must be the extensive patio area! We all spent so much time at the pool or just hanging out looking at the lake, turtles, etc. The host was very responsive. I do recommend that renters bring tick repellent if planning to walk through the wooded area.

We had an absolutely wonderful time! The house had everything you could want in a vacation; fishing, swimming , kayaking, games, and just taking it easy. Donna is a great host and immediately made my family feel at home. Our group of nine had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy all this house has to offer.

this was our familys second stay at this property. we like that it is close to our home and has everything that you could need. looking forward to our next stay.

The house and property were wonderful. The kitchen area is a 2 person at a time type of kitchen at best, but all of the requested cookers and appliances were available. The kids loved the outdoors and game time at the big dining table was fun!

The property was peaceful and secluded. Lake view was beautiful. Lots to do on the lake. Kids enjoyed boating and fishing. We had an evening firepit with smores. The house was fun with the Frank Lloyd Wright inspiration.

We had 5 groups coming to town for a family wedding. The venue was perfect. Rooms were immaculate and spacey. Extra mobile mattress in master very useful for our kids. The living room was more than big enough. Kitchen well stocked (but bring aluminum foil and ziplock). Bathrooms gorgeous. Deck looked a little worn (end of season that is common) and pool had some algae but again, end of season doesn’t shock me. Wish the paddle boats had been left at lake but was able to take some kayaks out and was very easy. Wish had brought my own life jackets (lake deep and provided were water logged when arrived). And bring fishing tackle!! We forgot and it was nice they had poles but without hooks they weren’t usable and the fish looked fun! Only real complaint was the inability to lock the door when gone from house (I’ve watched too many criminal minds and know it). Otherwise super satisfied and would rent again

Neat 70's modern home with a beautiful private lake setting. Huge property with plenty of privacy but close enough to town for easy access to stores, etc. Comfortable bed. All the kitchen necessities you might need, and then some.

Our family had a wonderful time. We came from Ohio,Oklahoma and Nebraska. So this was a perfect place to meet in the middle! Our host Donna was so welcoming

Firstly, Donna is an incredible host! She was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. She walked us through the home and provided us with all the information necessary to be able to navigate the house and property successfully. Secondly, the house and property are gorgeous! Pictures cannot capture the serenity this place holds. I took some time to read through the guest book and see all the beautiful experiences that the house has provided for others and was brought to tears. The energy in the home definitely reflects the collective energy of all the incredible shared experiences there. The pool, lake, hammock, firepit, kayaks, lounge chairs, and all the other outside amenities were MORE than enough to keep us occupied while outside. I can't properly express the peace we felt in this place. Donna's willingness and JOY at being able to share her piece of heaven on Earth is a kind of generosity that you don't see often. Thank you Donna for allowing my group of friends the chance to reconnect in a place that is as special as the relationships we got to strengthen there!

This is the perfect location for a family reunion. We had members travelling from Colorado, Michigan, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Once we arrived, we rarely left the property. Plenty of fun in the pool, fishing, boating, hiking, cooking and celebrating. Donna was a great host.

This house was just want our family needed during COVID quarantine. Donna was a terrific host with a great personality. We loved talking with her. The saltwater pool was fantastic and we spent much of our time outdoors. We can’t wait to go back! This is going to be a great continual getaway for our family.
