Staff was extremely helpful with booking, and swearing questions very promptly and very kind and attentive. I typically pack a bin of my “must haves” for food prep and did not need to bring any of them. This house fleas fully equipped and then some! We had 14 people, our 4 daughters and their spouses and 4 granddaughters. There was plenty of room for everyone. Ending each evening down by the lake on the swings roasting s’mores was a highlight as well as the huge pool with plenty of umbrellas for shade. We will be back!!!

The home is situated on a small lake with lovely views from the property. The home was well appointed with many many items to help make a short stay have the conveniences of home. It is about 25 minutes in traffic to downtown Tuscaloosa and the U of A.
We were so lucky to have the weather on our side so we could enjoy the pool, small kayaks and the outside play area. There were toys for the outdoor pool that they heated for us for a small fee and pool and air hockey tables inside.
The manager/owner responded promptly to our requests when we had issues and questions. We all felt that the rules and consequences were excessive and made us uncomfortable , but, the manager explained that the City of Tuscaloosa has placed many restrictions on short term rentals.
Overall, it was a fun weekend with many memorable moments with the grandchildren snd our adult children and their spouses.

The house has everything you could possibly need including the most well equipped kitchen and space for everyone to spread out.

We chose this property because it was able to accommodate our large family of 20+. The home is spacious enough to give everyone their own room/bathroom and provides areas for everyone to gather as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with any equipment you need to cook. We fixed every meal together and enjoyed family meals as a group. Each room has its own coffee maker, mini fridge, and snacks. Absolutely perfectly designed. There are tons of games, a pool table, air hockey, amazing outdoor space and equipment for s’mores around the fire pit or fishing off the dock! Communication with the host is flawless and they were always quick to answer any questions or concerns. If you’re looking for a wonderful place in this area, don’t hesitate! The Bama Lakeside Retreat is just as advertised! It is a beautiful house on a beautiful property managed expertly by husband and wife, Marc and Kim. The communication throughout the whole process was superb. We had 19 in our family group of three generations and everyone had a great time swimming in the pool, enjoying the swings around the fire pit, fishing off the dock, and taking a jaunt around the lake in the boat and kayak. It was a wonderful vacation home! A few notes for future renters: The kitchen is stocked with any pan/utensil/small appliance that you could possibly want! There are plenty of wonderful plush beach/swim towels for the pool. There are plenty of floats and toys for the pool. The property is listed as not handicapped accessible, but there are only a few steps to get into the main level of the house, and the master suite (Lakeside Suite) is on the main level along with the master bath that does have a hand rail for the toilet. (This was helpful for my mother-in-law that uses a cane.) There are mini fridges in all of the other suites except for the master suite. The Lakeside Suite is the only suite on the main level. The Bama Guest Quarters is in the lower level (along with game room and exit to pool). The other 4 suites are located on the upper level. The Cozy Cottage Suites share a bathroom that is connected to A and also opens to the hallway for access from Cozy Cottage B. There is also an outdoor staircase leading from the main level to the pool area. My mother-in-law can't do stairs very well, but she was able to join us down by the lake by walking along the side yard (with assistance) instead of the stairs. Thanks Kim and Marc for the wonderful stay!

We have used Bama B&B for years and every time they go above and beyond. This rental was superb! Coffee in every room. Snacks and sodas as well. The place is fully stocked with everything you would need to prepare a Thanksgiving Meal for 15! Beautiful grounds and surrounding area for runs/walks. We will be back!

We could not be happier with our decision to stay at this beautiful lake house again (our second time!). The home has plenty of cozy bedrooms and great gathering space. We had our Thanksgiving holiday at the lake house and it was just perfect in every way. Kim and her staff were a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend this property and hope I get the chance to stay in this amazing home again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay we came up from Florida to get away from the hurricanes and ended up going to the Alabama game , Kim helped us get tickets and parking for the game she was also very informative about the area in general and things to do around here, The house and the lake are absolutely gorgeous

We spent two nights along with our friends at the Bama House in November on the way to a wedding. Kim and Marc could not have been more hospitable or cordial. It was a delight visiting them in their home and the breakfast was delish. Thanks , Marc and Kim for an enjoyable two days and we will be back on our next trek through Alabama. War Eagle! You will not stay anywhere better in the greater Tuscaloosa area. Great house, great food, great family, great hosts. If you want privacy - you got it. If you want a group dynamic - you got it. Very, very accommodating. We were there on Thanksgiving and felt more at home than at home.

Our sons go to the University of Alabama and we visit them a couple of times of year. Each time prior we'd stay at various hotels and we'd be stuck in a small room that could be anywhere. We were looking for a place where we could really delve into some Southern Hospitality and have a home away from home. We decided to try the Bama B&B and boy are we happy we did. Kim and Mark are so sweet and they have everything thought out and prepared for your stay. What a beautiful home - gorgeous, clean, spacious and the scenery is amazing. We will now make this our first call whenever we plan a visit. The only heads up is as that as stated in their listing - they have a few cats running throughout the house. If you are allergic you better take your antihistamine, but take it, don't miss the splendor of this B&B

Came across this place on VRBO site - and so glad we did. Great family and location. Could not ask for better hospitality. Nice, quiet, clean, and beautiful view on lake. The breakfast is awesome. We hope to get back again soon.

From the start, the BAMA B&B family was a delight to work with planning our stay! She was flexible in accommodating an extra night at the very last minute. We felt welcome and confortable for the entire week. My son loved the pool and game room - we always had something to keep entertained. And breakfast was fabulous!!! We miss the biscuits and cocoa syrup - so good!!! The view was gorgeous and very relaxing. Would definitely say here again!!!

The weekend couldn't have been better. Our son graduated from the University of Alabama and we experienced the definition of Southern Hospitality. The Bama B&B is a beautiful property on a small lake 10 minutes from the campus. The owners are lovely, warm people who obviously take great pride in their B&B. The place is pristine, the rooms are big and comfortable and the breakfasts are a feast you'll never want to miss.
