Problems with hotel power plant during Hurricane Fiona emergency

Property was great

- The hotel looks good and the rooms are comfortable. - The location is perfect for a sightseeing visit to Ponce and they have a big parking. - The restaurant food was excellent although a bit expensive for the area. - They have a casino but I did not go inside.

- I requested a room on the first floor because we have mobility problems. I received approval confirmation from the hotel through Booking.com. But when we arrived at the hotel they refused to give us a first floor room. They gave us a good room but it was on a third floor, a long walk from the elevator. - The hotel charged an extra 10% fee that was not on the reservation nor on the information about the hotel. The hotel front desk clerk at check-in did not know what the fee wasfor. The clerk present at check-out said that, although the hotel is not a resort, they charge a resort fee. I argued and told them their charge is illegal because the fee is allowed for resorts and the Ponce Plaza is a hotel, not a resort. I ended up paying it because myfriends

I liked that there was cafe and restaurant

I didn’t like that they placed in an old room with a dirty leaking shower and dirty tile floor when there was newly remodeled rooms. It felt like they weren’t taking care of the room because they were about to redo it. Also when we asked if we could get to the islands offshore the people at the front desk just got quiet instead of telling us that they were closed and helping us find something else to do. They actually stopped talking to us and just pretended to be busy until we walked away.
