The staff were very nice and the service was great! They really made our stay better with their hospitality ;)

There is only three rooms in the building, and we had the building to ourselves as no one else was checked in for the night. The rooms were nice and comfortable, and the rooftop was also amazing, wish we had more time to spend up there. The staff who checked us in was very helpful and always ready to help. We were out most of the time, but during our time at the building, we thought it was great. Wifi connection is also good. We parked our car within 3 minutes walking distance from where we stayed in the public carpark area, only a very small fee was charged.

The views from the patio was spectacular, the room was minimalist but comfortable and nice. Breakfast was good, totally enjoyed it, coming from someone who does not typically have breakfast. It is also quiet when the renovation is not going on next door.
The way up to the place is very...very steep, definitely not suitable for the old or someone who has mobility problems. Tried driving up the slope, the car was slipping and ended up having to park in a corner of the road below, not ideal since it had been raining and was muddy. There is no parking nearly, will have to walk about 10 minutes to do street parking.

Het uitzicht was prachtig. Mensen waren erg aardig, ontbijt was goed. De kamer was ruim en had een koelkast.
Als kleine tip: een extra tafeltje/kastje voor tassen of kleding op te leggen

Hotel ligt dicht bij de hoofdstraat.
Lekker ontbijt. Zonnebedjes voor ons huisje. Geen airco maar een ventilator, wat ook prima was.
Voor ons geen probleem, maar om bij het hotel te komen moet je even een stijl stukje beklimmen.

Ella Rawana Den Hotel
ist etwas abseits vom Trubel gelegen, ist es nicht weit zur Hauptstraße mit den Restaurants welche fußläufig gut erreichbar sind. Es ist empfehlenswert, wie ich gemerkt habe, überall in Sri Lanka eine kleine Taschenlampe dabei zu haben. Der Weg zum Hotel ist teilweise etwas steil, dafür hat man eine gute Aussicht, wenn man ein Apartment mit Balkon nimmt, es empfiehlt es sich, sich mit dem Gepäck mit einem TukTuk hinfahren zu lassen.
Der Hotelmanager ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ich kann ihn nur loben!

Le ménage n'a pas été fait pendant les 3 nuits que nous avons passées sur place. Les draps, serviettes et poubelles (malgré l'écriteau indiquant de jeter le papier hygiénique à l'intérieur et qu'elles seraient changées chaque jour)
- chambre petite, peu lumineuse et sans aucun rangement
- douche sans bac, autrement dit lorsqu'on se lave on met de l'eau partout dans la salle de bain
- lits très durs

Goede ligging, 5 min lopen naar het centrum van Ella maar net ver genoeg voor niet teveel geluidsoverlast. Fijn dakterras, deze wordt wel gedeeld met de kamer naast je. Gastheer was erg vriendelijk.
Weinig waterdruk, steile klim naar de accommodatie maar is wel te doen. Geen koelkast of airco. Je krijgt niet heel veel voor het geld.

Lovely views and large clean room. Very close to town, short walk but steep.
Cash only which was not obvious or revealed at the start. Website says there waa a restaurant but this was next door (local family which was nice). Very steep to get to and not super well sign posted. English of the caretaker was limited. No tea or coffee facilities in the room.

Beautiful views, also tucked away from the commercial street! Lovely bedroom and staff. Easy check in and check out too!
Even though the hotel is away from the main strip, the sound reverberating off the mountains from the clubs and bars goes until 2-3am. This might be the same for most Ella hotels but we only stayed here.

El personal es muy amable y te ayuda en todo lo que necesites. Está cerca de la zona centro pero no al lado. Hay que subir una cuesta pronunciada para llegar. Es un alojamiento barato y que cumple con lo básico.

So,this location is very near to the famous chill cafe..
There are all positives in this place.
Very nice clean rooms
Caretaker is also very nice and helpful.
View is nice all in all nothing to point out
Only negative is that it is made on quite a steep hill road.
You can't take an auto or car just right in front of the hotel..
Henceforth need to drag your bags a bit..
Which is possible if you check in before dark..
As in night the area is pitch dark..
But otherwise no problem with the hotel at all

The view from the room is amazing, also the room is big and with a nice bathroom. The owners are very nice and always helping out with some water after the steep way to go up to the hotel.
The location is great right in the center of Ella but to reach the hotel there is a very very steep ramp that's very hard to make sometimes and slippery when raining. Also a bit hard to find the hotel at first.

Great view despite the erected barrier 😉 Friendly staff.
The photo with a view from the terrace deviates quite a bit from reality: there's a metal railing with vegetation starting to grow on it, the terrace boards are heavily damaged, and one must be careful with their steps. Everything is in a very run-down condition: a broken faucet in one room, a leaking sink in another, torn TV cables, and no refrigerators or glasses in the rooms. Additionally, you can't have any breakfast on-site as advertised on booking.com. Considering its current state, the hotel is not worth its price.

From the big balcony with deckchairs you can enjoy an amazing view on Ella rock and all town, especially in the night - a lot of stars, city lights and fireflies! Room is big and comfortable, bed with moscito net, very clean everywhere. Perfect location if you are looking for a place which is located higher, but in the same time only 5 minutes ftom the heart of the city with cafes and shops. Also very close to the railway station. Very friendly and honest staff! Thank you so much!

The view is really nice and it is close to the city center.
They have a power generator, which was useful.
The building looks like it is partly unfinished. Especially the rooftop.
It is really hard to get there and the road is very uphill.

I loved everything regarding my stay. The staff is super friendly.
They are offering you tea (this is so nice!) and all the help that you need regarding your traveling.
The rooms are spacious, clean and fresh. I love the view it's amazing. Also it's so quiet and just a 5min walk from the main road. I definitely come again!

The hotel is right in town, although it is quite a steep climb. It is the right place place if you want to go out for drinks and then don't walk too far. the view is spectacular
neighbour's dog is quite bothersome and pushy. we have a healthy respect of dogs in general and when a dog starts snapping at your bags and shoes it is not a pleasant situation

the property was clean and they have friendly staff. the balcony has a 360 view of the Ella Rock and the perfect place for a tea with the view
while our stay was amazing at the hotel, the location of the hotel was uphill where you need to climb upslope which burns all the calories in your body unless you find a friendly tuktuk driver who’s willing to take you uphill. we found one and the rest of the others denied to ride uphill.

We spent the first three nights in the tripple room and enjoyed the space inside of the room. Best however was the mornings when we got to enjoy a nice cup of coffee and overlooking parts of Ella and the mountains/ hills on the other side of the valley. We loved it so much, that we ended up extending another two nights. Highly recommended!

the deck from the room over looking the mountains you are literally sitting in the middle of the mountain so worth it! the location was extremely easy and accessible to town, it’s a bit of a uphill walk.

Very comfortable bed and room and helpful staff. Laundry service is fast and has a good price. Very close to main street with access to everything.
Wifi wasn’t working in the room. And be aware that the way to the hotel is very very steep, some TukTuks can do it though.

The breakfast was the best so far in Sri Lanka and it was quite a lot. The room was clean and the sheets/towels were the cleanest so far in Sri Lanka.
The road to the property is quite a climb, there were around 6 power cuts in less than 2 days.

- Not a bad view from the bedroom
- Mosquito nets on the windows and around your bed, as well as bedroom's mosquito repellent
- Some of the windows cannot be closed, hence, there are some night noises which don't allow you to have a good night of sleep
- The path near to the accomodation is very steep (for a backpacker, specially)
