Exceptional staff. Beautiful accommodations. Delicious food served to you in your beautiful room by a charming young g lady. Private onsen was great.
As an authentic ryoken, it provided seating that is on pillows on the floor and the bedding is a futon. These were difficult for us, as older folks, to get up and down.

Very nice ryokan with traditional japanese rooms and nice public onsen that can be booked for private use. Staff is super kind and nice. Traditional japanese breakfast served in the morning.
We booked a room with a private onsen on the balcony, from the pictures on booking the private onsen seemed much larger than it actually was, i.e. 1 sqm! We paid 900$ for one night for 2 adults and 3 kids, honestly it was overpriced. The ryokan is located at ca 100m from the lake which is great, however there is a very steep sloping road that is very uncofortable to walk with luggages and a stroller. There is no shuttle service, nor the possibility to call any taxi from the hotel.

The meals and service were particularly excellent. The facilities were beautiful and had a timeless yet traditional Japanese feel as did the surrounding spa town of Hakone. I loved all the staff - they were so kind and helpful! We felt welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Incredible hospitality and possibility for relaxation.

The whole experience was just lovely. Staff was kind and attentive, food was amazing (course after course of beautiful traditional dishes), room was spacious, and relaxing in the private outdoor hot spring bath was wonderful as well.
The location, near a beautiful lake, is fantastic, but the nearly hour long ride on a very crowded bus to get there was not. Still, I would do it again

The food was delicious, ans the service was up to the standards of great restaurants. The staff overall was so nice. They accommodated perfectly with special demands that I had, couldn't ask for more.
The room was gigantic and the Onsen, whether that's in the room or the "public" one were awesome. The table with warmers below it were the first one we saw for real and we loved it too.
If you get the weather, the location is amazing to see Mt Fuji as the coast of Lake Ashi is a 3min walk from the ryokan.
The beds were not comfortable at all, we had the impression of sleeping on the floor (not our first futon bed either). That's the only issue we had but given the price paid, we expected more there honestly.

The location is wonderful, right in Moto-Hakone on the lake, close to the sightseeing cruise stop and the Hakone Shrine. It is a very small Ryokan with beautiful views. This was our first Ryokan/onsen experience and we understood the charm is in the simplicity. The staff was wonderful. They are strict with check in (3-5 pm) and we did not receive dinner (maybe because it was a holiday?) but we did receive a traditional breakfast (not a western style but was fun to try). The onsen was wonderful - two private rooms! We also had a massage which was incredible.

The breakfast was phenomenal, traditional Japanese breakfast with 8-10 small dishes in a private room. The food, environment and service were excellent.

I stayed in 2 different ryokans and this one was definitely a better experience! The room is super confortable, the mats were super comfortable. We had a private open bath which actually we have almost not used since the Onsen downstairs could be used privately without extra charge!!!! It is super near to Moto Hakone and they offered to pick us at the 7 eleven but since we didn't have luggage it was not necessary.
Kaiseki food is not really for me hahaha I don't like its texture. However the service is great!!!

- Traditional Ryokan with amazing views if the Lake
- Helpful staff who tended to all our needs
- Delicious kaiseki style food (no less then a Michelin Star restaurant)
- Private onsen in the room (balcony) as well as the public onsen which was also available upon reservation (just for your group)
- Breakfast made of mainly fish was not my cup of tea -- but that's just me.
If you are open to trying traditional Japanese breakfast you'll love that as well!

It was a great experience. The meals were amazing and the staff very friendly and always willing to help. The lady who looked after us was very attentive. It was great to be able to lock the door and have the whole public onsen to ourselves seeing I have tattoos. Although the private onsen as part of our room was a highlight.

It’s pretty good and great the hot springs were great, dinner and breakfast were a unique experience
considering the value the staff was pretty sloppy to the price demand, but it was considerably good value comparing to other prices.

The meals were delicious and meticulous, we had both dinner and breakfast served in our room. The staff was friendly and we were able to communicate in English. The facilities were clean and had everything you could’ve asked for. We had an open air bath in our room and we’re also able to use the private onsens. It was a plus for us too because both male & female were able to enter the private onsen at the same time. This was one thing we looked for in particular since we both have tattoos so the privacy was a must for us. The location is great, very close to the bus stop & the hakone shrine which was one of the sights we wanted to see
Construction was being done outside our window but that was out of the control of the staff.

Amazing staff, secret proposal where I told the staff/owner and they helped me arrange flowers and made the night extra special.
A very traditional ryokan decor but not dated. The room was extremely clean . Dinner was an 10+ course meal made with fresh ingredients. The private bath was a treat, walking out in the middle of winter relaxing in a hot spring. On a sunny day, the second floor suite will have glimpses of mt fuji.
The location was perfect, very central in motohakone and 5-10min walk from the transport hub (ship/bus).
For those who would enjoy and appreciate an authentic Japanese experience, stay here. Be culturally sensitive and you will love this place. Only a few rooms as with all traditional ryokans, so book early

Amazing staff, couldn’t be more helpful. We had the most incredible dinner followed by an awesome private Onsen. Loved staying in a traditional ryokan with such wonderful staff. Highly recommend.
