Location, comfortable appartment with full ameneties

Everything was perfect

The flat is really central! Everything you need is within walking distance and with so much in Hull to see and do I didn't have to spend too much time in the apartment. The location is by far the best thing about this property! On site, secure parking was really handy to have too. The management were easy to contact and were able to deliver a working hoover within 24 hours. Some of the appliances in the flat were really good: The iron was fab! Ironing my uniform for work was so much faster than usual, and the oven and microwave work really well too. The shower is also pretty powerful. It would have been good to have had some sort of information booklet on arrival, with things like whether or not the fan in the kitchen cupboard needs to be on 24/7, how to work the light buttons (SO confusing!), the code for accessing the bin store, etc.

SO DIRTY. I have seen similar reviews with responses from those managing it saying that the cleaning company they use clean to a high standard. Either they need to vet their cleaners a LOT more, or they need to pay them to clean for longer. It was absolutely disgusting on arrival. The bedroom carpet was absolutely covered in dirt and long black hair, with more hair (not all of it from the head) in the bathroom corners and behind the door. There were two old hoovers in the apartment and neither of them worked/functioned properly, which made me wonder how long it had been since it had been hoovered. The limescale from the pipes had piled up and gone crusty around the sink in the kitchen (which is black so it looked even worse/more obvious). This took me less than 5 minutes to scrub off, so keeping it clean is definitely manageable. There were lots of other little things that I wouldn't expect from a property being advertised as 5 stars by booking.com, including a duvet cover with holes in it, melted and filthy kitchen utensils, etc... Normally, if I'm not keen on somewhere I've stayed I just wouldn't leave a review, as a lot of the time it's down to personal opinion as to whether or not a property is worthy of however many stars it is awarded. But opinion didn't really come into this. Although I loved being so close to where I was working, and being so central, I wouldn't stay here again. Hopefully, having cleaned it as much as possible, the next person's review will be a little more positive.
