Lovely old style building, right on the Bosphorus shore. Nice atmosphere of being in an old fishing village while still in the big city conurbation of Istanbul. Classy dining room with good food at relatively ordinary prices. Good breakfast too.

We booked a standard room but that turned out to be a fairly small room looking into the central lobby of the hotel; so we paid extra to upgrade to a room with sea view that also was larger and more comfortable.

Too bad the staff didn’t speak English, other than the reception desk. Also the day time receptionist could try to smile and be more welcoming, but didn’t bother my experience.

wi-fi was worst of any hotel we recently stayed in. Poor maintenance, bathroom fixture falling off, drained batteries in tv remote control, small awkwardly laid out room (smaller than photos). Poor location. Loud wedding parties.

The bed was quite comfortable. The bell boys were very gentle. The hotel decoration in the main entrance is proper for the history of the town. The breakfast was quite good.

- Stuff barely speak English. - Cleaning was definitely superficial everywhere. Even in the main entrance room the carpets were in an awfully clean shape. -For more than 36 hours there was a leftover tray out of the room next to mine!!! - In my room there was no wi-fi coverage. I had to stand at the door to have internet. Nothing changed even though i complained daily. At checkout they asked me about six euros for consuming some stuff from the refrigerator. I asked them if they will be paying me back for all the roaming data I have been using and the answer was no. The employee had changed shift and the new employee has no responsibility for the wifi problem, because he did not know about it!!! I told him to go and test at the specific moment the lack of wi-fi but he didn't care. "The next room of mine has wi-fi he said" -Each time we asked for the manager, he was simply not there. -The room was extremely small. -Pool is for decoration.... It is extremely small and none of the 5 days I stayed there was open. I even saw a guy water the pots around the pool and the water from the pots was running into the pool!!! -Every day there were two to three events (marriages and so). The noise was annoying even in midday when they were testing their equipment. At 24:00 they were shut down (by law) as any other bar in Istanbul. -Even though I had no wi-fi it was terribly humiliating to know that me, my wife and every other resident had to enter their own credentials to access the internet so that they could check exactly what each of us were browsing. (This is common for all hotels. It's the government law)
