Ausgezeichnete Lage

Charming oldy worldly decor with lots nick nacks and plants.

The hotel was like a wonderful oasis in a desert. The decor is old style as the rooms. Impeccable clean and comfortable rooms, the seating area outside was lovely and the locations was a bonus for two very curious tourists from Scandinavia who appreciated the experience of staying in the middle of orthodox quartier in Jerusalem.
We will definitely return.
Nothing to complain about. The reception was closed during sabbath day but the made it up by leaving a loaf of very tasty bread in every room.

Really nice staff. We got an upgrade to a better room just because it was free. The room was on the ground floor with an own little garden. Everything in the room and the little garden was some kind of sweet and really cozy.
Besides the nice lady from the reception gave us some good advices for dinner and was really helpful
4.3
Friendly and helpful staff, great interior, even free snacks and tea/coffee for guests. The room had plenty of amenities and consumables, which covered anything you could possibly need.
The sound from the street - traffic is extra loud in Jerusalem as everybody honks their car horns all the time and it can be very frustrating until 8-9 pm when traffic calms down. Even when the windows are closed, the sound is still pretty annoying, maybe the hotel could invest in better soundproof windows. Otherwise, everything else was great about the hotel.
4.3
Fairly close to the old city. Apples available and hospitable and helpful staff. Buses run from just around the corner with a bakery nearby where you can buy breakfast. We liked the coffee sachets but it seems they are the same as every hotel in Israel.
Bathroom floor and the table weren't cleaned after use all the time we were there during the working week. That's the biggest gripe, otherwise we would have given a much higher score.

Hardly an eatery close by I mean a good restaurant

The hotel is amazing, with a very clean and comfortable room.
The hotel is in a Jewish Orthodox neighborhood. For me, it was a lovely experience, but it is essential to know that this may reflect your experience in Jerusalem.

+ Helpful and responsive staff
+ 100% kosher and welcoming to observant Jews
+ Relaxed, welcoming to children
+ The room decor and flowers of the garden patio are so charming, my wife loved it.
+ Location in vibrant Geulah, which has dozens of yeshavas and over a hundred shuls as well as small Jewish shops, bakeries and places to get food.
+ Security of locks is multilayered (but see below).
- Neighborhood is noisy and construction nearby started at 7 AM (but tight windows that have recently been added insulated a lot).
- AC/heater in one room was a little noisy.
- Breakfast is not a fancy hot meal but light “continental” style.
- Floors are tile, not carpeted (but basic slippers are provided).
- Water pressure of shower is low and hot water runs out after about 10-15 minutes.
- From the street a video doorbell answered by the staff or a key issued after check-in is needed to get in. Another key is required for the building door, both for entry and exit, as well as a third key for the room. It’s a bit troublesome (but good for security vs. a door opened just by pushing or turning).

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is also a really nice space, with many unique items. Very good price/ quality ratio, especially in Jerusalem. The hotel is located in a very Jewish part of the city - we liked it, but some people might get cultural shock with all these crowds dressed in a very traditional way.
The room was really small, and the bathroom super small. It is a place just for sleeping.

I liked the general appearance of the property - very quaint and "lived in", like a large home letting rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In particular, I very much enjoyed several conversations with Ester. The location, right in the middle of Jewish orthodoxville was quite close to major attractions so I was able to walk everywhere. The bed was VERY comfortable and the pillows (4 of them) were excellent. I'd buy them for my house if I could. Having a good hot water heater, a fridge, and microwave was very nice. The extra amenities like tea, coffee, and snacks in the "lobby" were also appreciated.
In my room (402) there was no bathroom. Porta-potties have more space (see pic). If you are fat or obese, GOOD LUCK! What made the microbathroom extra inconvenient was the lack of any shelving within. If there had been some shelves available for the many bottles of soap/shampoo, etc., it would have helped. Instead, I had to move all the bars of soap, bottles of shampoo, and even my toiletry bag outside into the room. It was the smallest bathroom I've ever seen, and only barely usable. The internet was bad, which was sad since one of the big reasons I chose this place were reviews ranking its internet highly. Bring ear plugs or head phones as, for some reason (not the staff's fault) guests just seem to have no clue how to NOT slam doors or make all sorts of noise well into midnight. To close, obviously there isn't much that can be done to make the bathroom structurally bigger, but the problems caused by its small size and lack of flat surfaces can be greatly remedied by installing a couple of cheap shelves and perhaps a couple of hooks from which to hang personal kit.

nice location (be aware it’s in a middle of Orthodox Jew neighborhood) bus stops just near the corner, 15 min walk to old city, not noisy, easy breakfast available (tea&coffee, cookies, cereals and fruit)
none

Clean and comfortable. Close to Jaffa Street but a bit further away to Old Town but easy walking to there. Staff was very helpful as we were unaware that all transport stops on Shabat but they arranged transport direct to the Airport which was very convenient and reasonably priced. Also they gave us a cake on Shabat which was very appreciated as well as the coffee facilities available.
If you find it difficult to walk then there aren't many Restaurants around as it is a very authentic Jewish residential quarter. We didn't mind at all but best be prepared. The only negative thing was the bathroom was quite small but despite that we enjoyed our stay.

Location in orthodox area, not full of tourist, had a really authentic experience.
The receptionist was very kind and helpful.
In our room the bathroom window couldn’t be closed, since our travel was in January it was very cold in the room. There was no bathroom door, only a plastic curtain type.

Tzefania hotel is an extraordinary place. All the time I had a feeling to be in a special hotel....and more than a hotel...it was like I was a friends' guest. Tzefania is a very old place..of course, everything is completely renovated, still, the house is full of traditional decorations, almost like I am in a museum. And it is located in a very traditional area, so when you are on the street, it is like you are in some of the previous centuries. The staff is super kind, friendly, and relaxed. I hope to stay there again, very much.
