Staying at Selyna's has been truly a "feeling at home away from home" Selyna is a super attentive host that cares about every detail to make you feel at home. She is an open minded and informed person: it was a real pleasure to talk with her about any topic. The dog is one of the sweetest dog we have met. Additionally we had here the best shower so far in Sri Lanka (real hot water) and a incredibly delicious breakfast (including real coffee and not burned or nescafe!). After over two weeks backpacking in Sri Lanka we really appreciated these details. We truly received a 5-stars treatment in a cozy house for an accessible price. Thanks from our heart Selyna, we hope to see you again :-)

We regret not staying longer! If you plan to spend several days in Kandy to visit the city with more calm it is worth it to stay here.

Everything perfect! Selyna will take care of your stay perfectly, with all the assistance you need and superb breakfasts. And also Ollie is the best dog ever and will make your stay happier.

La proprietaria è stata gentilissima e accogliente. siamo arrivati in anticipo, e ci ha fatto comunque entrare in camera nonostante non fosse l’ora del check in. la posizione era ottima, a solo 15 minuti dal centro città e sopraelevata. la colazione era favolosa e con una vista incredibile. Alla sera abbiamo chiesto se fosse possibile cenare e ci ha preparato una cena deliziosa. Uno dei posti più belli in cui sia mai stata! super consigliato ❤️🌸

Selyna und ihre Familie sind sehr freundliche Gastgeber, die für alle Fragen und Wünsche bereitstehen und den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm gestalten. Außerdem hat Selyna einen zuckersüßen Hund, der einen täglich freundlich begrüßt. Das Frühstück war lecker und abwechslungsreich, außerdem haben wir sooft wir wollten frisches Trinkwasser bekommen. Die Unterkunft ist ruhig gelegen, von unserem Apartment aus hatten wir eine sehr tolle Sicht in die Natur. Zum Zentrum braucht man zu Fuß ca. 10-15 Minuten, zurück dauert es doch etwas länger, da es bergauf geht.

Unser Apartment war sehr feucht, es riecht entsprechend modrig und die Wände sind schimmlig. Vielleicht lässt sich das in der Gegend nicht gut vermeiden. Selyna meinte, sie wollte vor unserer Ankunft noch ausmalen, hat es zeitlich aber leider nicht geschafft. W-Lan langsam und instabil. Selyna hat uns vor unserer Ankunft den Kontakt von einem TukTuk-Fahrer geschickt, der uns "gratis" vom Bahnhof geholt hat, während der 10 minütigen Fahrt wird einem eine Tagestour angeboten, die wir auch gebucht haben, weil uns Selyna gesagt hat, dass der TukTuk-Fahrer sehr verlässlich einerseits ist und andererseits sehr arm. Die Tour hätten wir uns im Nachhinein betrachtet sparen können, bei jedem zweiten Stop gehts nur darum, Touristen völlig überteuertes Zeug zu verkaufen, wofür der Fahrer dann eine Provision erhält. An unserem Abreisetag wollte er uns wieder zum Bahnhof bringen, ist aber doch nicht erschienen - schätze mal das ist alles eine Masche.

We had the best nights sleep and best shower since our arrival in Sri Lanka here, the room is spacious, beautifully designed, big windows & terrace with great views, comfy bed and bathroom with very nice hot shower. The location is a bit outside which helps to get a good nights sleep away from the noise but still super close by tuk tuk (we payed around 300 LKR to the old city center). Selyna was a great host and served us delicious breakfast in the morning on the terrace! We felt very warmly welcomed and would recommend to definitely stay longer than just one night!! Also a great addition is the dog Ollie who is super cute and playful :)

There was really nothing we did not like

Die Unterkunft ist extrem schön. Es fühlt sich an als wäre man in einem Spa mit Aussicht auf die Berge. Selyna ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin, bei der wir uns wie zu Hause gefühlt haben. Ausserdem hat sie uns sehr wertvolle Tipps gegeben, wie wir unseren Aufenthalt in Kandy und unsere Weiterreise gestalten sollen. Sie haben einen Hund Oli, der sich auch sehr freut sie zu sehen :) Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen!

Selyna var en fantastisk värd. Hon gav sitt bästa för ge en trivsam vistelse och hjälpte till med frågor och tips om staden och utflykter. Fantastiskt service och man kände sig hemma.

Selyna was incredibly kind and accommodating. The accommodation boasts a stunning location, and the breakfast was superb. Also, Olli, the dog, is very friendly and playful, adding to the overall delightful experience of our stay.

La proprietaria è gentilissima, la stanza grande e con bella vista sulla città. La colazione è buonissima, finora la più buona offertaci. Mi sento di consigliarla se state a Kandy

Purtroppo la stanza dopo la stagione delle piogge era un po’ umida, Selyna si è scusata per non averla ancora fatta mettere a posto. La stanza era molto luminosa la mattina nonostante le tende chiuse.

Vriendelijke ontvangst van Selyna. Mooi uitzicht over de stad. Rustige plek net buiten de hectiek van Kandy. Heerlijk ontbijt. Enthousiast hondje Olly. Heerlijk bed en goede douche met warm water. Selyna had leuke tips wat te bezoeken en een aanrader voor cafe met live music.

Het ligt op de heuvels. Heerlijk rustig maar wel even lopen richting het centrum. Wij waren met eigen Tuktuk, dus hadden er minder last van.

We hebben een hele fijne stay gehad bij Selyna! Mooie kamer, heel mooi uitzicht, lekker ontbijt en hartelijk ontvangst door Selyna! Hond Ollie is heel erg lief!

Het kon naar onze mening wat schoner, maar verder was het helemaal top!

Excellent localization! In top of the hill, that is why even when this is close distance, going up the hill is tiring so better use tuk-tuk. Very kind lady serving the place. Rooms comfy and clean. Tasetfull breakfast. Highly recommend! P.S. Lot of monkeys around and 1 cool dog :)

Location is amazing in the heart of Kandy, still quite and easily accessible with tuktuk or car. Spectacular view on the city, really comfortable facilities, clean and big room. I think most modern place, where we stayed in Sri Lanka at all. Selyna is really nice and served delicious breakfast to us. We were really sad that we stayed only 1 night, it was a pity. Next time definitely will stay more nights!

Selyna is the perfect host! She was really kind and helped us with useful tips. She also prepared a delicious breakfast with view! Our room was perfectly clean and it had a lovely view of Kandy hills.

Selyna was a lovely and very welcoming host, she greeted us with fresh juices and her cute dog! She suggested places to visit in the city when we asked for advice. The room was lovely, clean and spacious - we couldn’t have asked for more. The view was amazing and as was the breakfast.

The only thing that could have made our stay better was maybe if there was air conditioning, but that is minor and would not stop us from staying again. It was not too hot anyway and there was a fan.
