This is my 2nd time staying at Crofton House. The first time was such a positive experience all around that this was the obvious choice for myself and my family to stay here whilst travelling on business. I highly recommend the deluxe suites here. What you get for the money is simply astonishing, very roomy and each suite I have seen having its very own personal touch and at the price of most normal hotel rooms (even less in many instances as far as Torquay goes). The staff at Crofton House are exceptionally helpful and always there to attend to any need that you may have. Asking if your room is to your liking in a manner that truly cares to make sure that your stay is as comfortable as possible....and I really mean that! They are always quick to check in on you every day in a personal manner to see if there is anything that you need. I can guarantee you that your stay at Crofton House will redefine hospitality to you in the most positive of manners. Although hospitality seems to be a dying art these days in may hotels and bed and breakfasts, your stay here will restore your faith that it is possible to be treated like a well respected and desired guest. Don't miss the opportunity if you are ever in the area!

Everything was good. We make a good use of the facilities such as the outside and inside swimming pool, hot tube and sauna. The staff were amazing always making sure everything was okay. We had a nice view facing the outside pool. I will defenitly be back and I am already recommending it to my friends and family.

The location of the hotel is a little hidden behind one of the main streets but a short walk from the harbour beach so wasn't that bad. The exterior fasade of the entrance needs renovation looks outdate but the interior is like a victorian vibe, a good surprise.

The reception staff, particularly the lady I interacted with, was extremely helpful. She promptly arranged for a quiet room as per my request, ensuring a comfortable stay. The amenities were well-maintained, and I particularly enjoyed the pool area. Fresh towels were always available, enhancing the overall experience. The room was clean, adequately equipped, and offered a good balance of comfort and functionality. While it is a 3-star hotel, the service exceeded my expectations. The staff's friendliness and willingness to assist made my stay enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cozy and affordable place to stay.

The rooms had no landline phone, but we could quickly contact them via text or telephone. We had to share a fridge at the reception

From the minute we arrived we were greeted by very friendly and welcoming staff. Our stay was really nice. Our room was very large and had a great comfy bed and amazing shower. Hotel needs a little tlc smelt smoke and weed in the corridor just before our room. Would have been nice to have towels for the swimming pool. Unsocial noise (lots of slamming of doors) after 12am

The shower did not work and there was no kettle or water in the room(without asking for them)

The staff was very friendly allowing us to microwave our meals. The outdoor jacuzzi and pool were open all night which was a nice touch and enhanced our overall hotel experience.

The room was really hot at night and could do with an AC (Air conditioning).

Staff were very attentive to all of the needs of myself and my family. They always made a point of checking in to make sure that we were happy with our stay. When I first checked in I was jealous of the room that my other family members were in and decided to upgrade. They asked me if there were any problems with the room out of a desire to really make sure we felt comfortable. The beds were exceptional restful. Everything was very clean. The building itself has and exceptionally lovely atmosphere. It's truly a hidden gem of Torquay and I would highly recommend the property to anyone either looking for just a getaway, or travelling on business. Try one of the Deluxe Suites? Highly affordable and you will be amazed at what you get for the price.

The staff are very friendly and helpful always went out of their way to assist us. The location is very convenient as it is only 2 minute drive to the beach, they also have onsite parking which is free. Rooms were clean and spacious, we absolutely loved the facilities at the place, sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor pool plus a hot tub. Supermarkets and restaurants are all under 10 minutes from the hotel. The owner and his wife are absolutely lovely people, will definitely be returning here again whenever we visit Torquay. Never felt so relaxed and stress free.

The staff are so helpfully, there is anything they won’t try to sort out. The fact there’s no breakfast in winter month they pointed me in the right direction in walking distance to get a lovely breakfast up the road. My daughter asked to use the pool an hour early they accommodated this to make our stay memorable 🥰

I didn’t feel my young child was a problem playing and run around excited just being a child. The patience given to my daughter and myself was priceless.

I found it strange going to another hotel but breakfast was adequate. If I had booked breakfast when I booked the room I would have been charged £8. I tried to order a breakfast later by email. I was told there was only continental but nothing about booking it. Then, when I got to hotel was told I could have a free breakfast in a different hotel. All very confusing.

A chair would have been good in the bedroom. Not only for sitting on but also for clothes. There was nowhere to put clothes.

Hot water hit and miss, there was a sign saying they would turn our room over and they didn't. Keys not ready on arrival. Tv was broken. But cheap enough that we didn't mind too much

The room smelt quite bad and we had to keep the windows open to get rid of it. We had breakfast included in our booking but then found out on the day that they didn’t even serve breakfast. Also smelt of weed.

Lovely hotel it was nice to be able to check in at 2pm as most hotels are 3pm,the leisure facilities looked lovely even though we didn’t use them as I forgot my swim suit. The rooms were clean and comfortable light and airy.

Nothing not to like,unfortunately our tv was playing up but problem was rectified promptly and we were able to move rooms without a fuss.

The hotel was very clean and tidy inside, the bed was comfortable, shower was a good size and hot, we had a suite it was large and comfortable for our 4 night stay. the reception staff where friendly and accommodating.

Superb Customer service, I arrived and had been allocated an upper floor room, the gentleman on reception saw my walker, and immediately said there's a room on the ground floor, we'll swap you. The room was a decent size, bed nice and comfortable, and a nice shower.

The staff was lovely ! The lady we met that checked us in was absolutely perfect at her job.

On the evening of our stay we returned to the hotel. My partner was walking so he returned to the hotel a little later. I went to the desk to ask for another room key as I didn't want to wait for my partner. The night porter (male) gave me the wrong key. I told him that this was the wrong key however he argued and argued so I took the key and it didn't work it was the wrong number. I explained this to him and he got very aggressive. He then gave me another key that I told him again was the wrong door and he argued and argues with me and said it's the right one. I then walked off again and again it was the wrong key. I then came back with the key and requested he walks with me to the room so I can show him what room I was in and he refused. I even asked said I would wait outside and tell him everything that was in the room. He became very aggressive and asked me to actually leave the property. I was so scared as I had nowhere to go. I then called my partner and luckily he came in and helped me persuade the night porter that it was our room. I refused to leave at this point I was very upset and shocked I had been treated like this if anything it's something you see on tv. We finally managed to get into our room unfortunately in the night I became unwell with my blood pressure and stayed longer on the Sunday. The lady that again was amazing at the start allowed us longer. I wouldn't of minded paying as I was so u well but she said it was ok. We travel to Torquay with work and friends and stay at many hotels but I'm unsure if I could use this hotel again after the experience with the night porter. I would like to say thankyou to the lady on the desk she was so welcoming and even showed us other rooms for the future she definitely is an asset to the hotel. If there is cctv I would recommend the hotel watch the cctv .

We stayed twice in this hotel the first time was summer it was lovely, we returned a couple months later it was just falling in cold there was no heating in room the pool was freezing cold compared to our previous visit and the saunas where out of order and the bathroom in our room was really shabby. Not sure what happened but not sure if we will return.

Jacussi didn't work, steam rooms didn't work, tiles around swimming pool are dirty. room was dirty, dust on surfaces, mould in the shower cubicle, rubbish under the bed.

1. Booking.com (initially!) said 'No prepayment needed' /pay later at the property'. I thought great , i ll just pay with cash or our debit card when I get there. Next thing I know hotel charges me the full amount 3 days prior to my arrival.... Upon my arrival questioning the staff was pointless, they said they don't know why it happened, they said 'contact booking.com' 2. Shower was falling apart, and you had to run tap in the sink in order for water in shower turning hot, or running ar all. 3. Never got my towels replaced. 4. Room was never cleaned (bins were replaced & toilet paper...very very thin!) 5. Room 9 I stayed in smelled strongly of swimming pool, as if I was actually staying in swimming pool area, no joking! 6. Bed sheets smelled of cigarettes 7. Hotel offers two WiFis, none of them work in rooms. Maybe in reception 8. After all of this complaining I was offered to move to Room 11. Oh brother! That Room smelled as if someone just had a smoke in their. And because I refused to change the room , hotel refused to provide partial refund for my troubles. 9. You get constant calls from 02081642202 (customer service group related to this hotel), checking on you whether you checked in, checked out then how was your stay... Well I complained, of course. All I got "oh sorry to hear that. Thanks for your feedback'. No offer of refund, no credit, no voucher, no nothing.
