Simply the nicest traditional pub we have stayed in. Fiona, who owns the pub, and her daughter Charlotte were great hosts - friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. The chef (Elvis) produced delicious food. We wanted to try everything on the menu. Good wine list and draught beer too. Well appointed bedrooms and very nice public spaces with a log fire on the chillier days. Great views from the footpath beside the pub of the surrounding countryside. A lovely, relaxing stay. Would love to return.

Just come back from a lovely weekend spent at the Lamb Inn in Chinley. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Lovely friendly, happy staff. Dave and Fiona go that extra mile to make their guests feel welcome. The rooms are high quality finish, very clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The food was exceptional, good quality products. We would recommend the steak burger. With the lovely ambiance of the pub, restaurant and the good quality food we ended up having all our meals there. We are now planning our next visit

The lamb inn was nothing more than welcoming from when we got there to when we was leaving. The room we stayed in was lovely and very cosy. food in the inn was exceptional. Breakfast was lovely and didn’t disappoint neither did the food on a night. The people who work there to the people who own lamb inn are so welcoming and friendly and made our stay even better Thankyou x

Such a relaxing country pub with the log fires in the bar, the staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was a good size, very clean with a comfortable bed.
We ate in the evening and had breakfast there too. Everything we had was freshly made and well presented. We would definitely return and highly recommend the Lamb Inn to others.

The staff were exceptional from start to finish, my wife and I were made to feel at home immediately. The food was exceptional, from breakfast through to dinner. We ate in the restaurant on both nights of our stay and can genuinely say the food was phenomenal...............especially after a 10 mile hike!!
Nothing negative to comment on. We look forward to staying at the Lamb Inn again soon. We have already recommended this place to some of our friends.

Traditional cosy pub. Breakfast excellent. Lovely luxurious room (we stayed in room 2). Big modern bathroom. Great location for hiking in peak district.
Only downside was busy road outside property which we did not expect however the noise did not bother us much.
4.6
Very friendly staff, particularly the kitchen staff at breakfast time and the Wainwright beer.
The front door lock on Room 1 was problematic.

Everything! So welcoming and perfect for a winter break. The food, the rooms and the staff made it so comfortable and the area is super for exploring..we will be back soon. A jem of a find!

Very welcoming and cosy, and the owner and Staff couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms have everything you need in them with some lovely little touches.
They could do with Wi-Fi as the password available definitely doesn’t work.
4.6
The atmosphere and character of the Lamb - the owners and staff are very obliging.
Our bedroom was excellent - the bathroom and beds are perfect.
Having enjoyed it last year when we stayed at The Lamb all 4 of us had their terrific fillet steaks - perfection. The Lamb's breakfast is excellent.
Breakfast does not start till 9.00am and with it being such a good spread (and freshly cooked) it obviously takes time - if you have a long journey and need to catch a ferry then such a late breakfast means we missed it. The team did provide us with cereals but not the same as their proper fare
4.6
The food at the Lamb Inn was very poor.
Nice enough place. Very self assured proprietor, dreadful food. The kitchen staff have no idea.
4.6
The pub itself is old and attractive.
Location: The pub is in a hollow directly off a busy A road in an otherwise beautiful position. The bedroom is lower than the road only about 40ft away. The traffic noise is intermittent during the night but becomes almost constant and increasing from 05.15hrs. Awful
The ground floor room/bath has 3 windows and a door. Outside bright lights on the walkway round are on all night and even with heavy curtains it is like sleeping in a room with curtains open during full moon. Noise and light plus awful pillows meant a sleepless night - next day I felt 10 years older. No privacy curtains to the room from other guests.
Dinner: sub-average. Only 3 roast potatoes over for two of us having a "roast". All covered with a bland gravy and meat thickly cut as if with a cleaver - total lack of any finesse. Sticky toffee pudding excellent. Service poor
Breakfast: no wholemeal bread or croissant as supplier "unreliable" and that is taking breakfast after 09.00hrs! Bacon very good but suspect the sausages pre-cooked the day before as nearly charred. Poached egg overcooked/hard.
Gaby was charming, helpful and clearly uncomfortable that my complaints were justified (noted down by her) but unable to talk bill reduction as owners away and not contactable. She explained the service shortfall of the previous evening, which I accepted, albeit not my problem and should not have happened. Left my contact details but have heard nothing more from the owners albeit Gaby promised they would contact me.
WiFi poor as per other reviews and no signal in room.

Food and room were lovely.
Traffic noise. The coffee.

The staff and owners were so friendly. The dinner in the evening was exceptional and the breakfast was also superb.
Everything was excellent, if I was being picky our room was very warm but a fan was available in the room if we needed it. Our own phones could not get a signal but that was not the Lamb Inns fault
4.6
it the room was up to date and stylish..private quiet and even had an outside seating area.

I made booking for 2 adults but confirmation stated 1 adult so I had to pay an additional ten pounds for my wife.

A little bit of traffic noise.

Room was lovely, clean, lots of little extras, bed, quilt and pillows so comfortable. Breakfast cooked to order served on hot plates, delicious, ate on the patio both nights and the food is outstanding.
If I wanted to be picky we would have liked a little fridge in the room

Perfect stay. Such friendly staff and the room was lovely, clean and fresh. Good location. Will definitely be going back
The only downside was the breakfast due to covid but that is not the owners fault
